“I ordered some feather edge boards for a fence job I was doing in my own garden. I left the boards laying separate for a week, all the boards kept their shape and the job looks good. Thanks for your good quality timber and the help from the delivery guy.”

“Even though I completely messed up my order (basic schoolboy measuring error), they corrected my mistake with no fuss or bother!. They said it was just their normal customer service!.
They can also cut wood you buy to fit in your vehicle. Definitely my port of call for my next project.”

“I have had goods delivered by Howarth and been to the shop. Both experiences were very positive, staff were helpful, friendly and gave practical, trustworthy advice that was based on my needs rather than just to sell me something, which is always something I like, especially in this day and age! It was also great that myself and my son were allowed to pick our own bags and put them in the car ourselves, although this isn't what everyone wants, it was fun picking our stock and loading up! Staff would have done this but we wanted to do it ourselves. Would use Howarth for all my supplies in future and staff were also really good at showing an interest in my sons specialist interests and took 'talking tools' seriously with him, which again is hard to get anywhere these days! Thanks”

“I ordered a bulk bag of 20mm limestone which was delivered on 16 July. When I came to use this I found that there was a substantial amount of sand in with this. Please see attached photo. Luckily the area where I most used this wasn't readily visible, although I did have to selectively pick through some of the non sandy gravel to use in certain areas. I don't know why this happened but it is annoying and very disappointing.
I emailed the branch and got the following reponse:
Apologies for this. I can only assume there must have been loose product at the end of the bay and the limestone has been contaminated when the operator has bagged it with the bucket. Do you require anymore material ?
I don't need any more materials at this time and so was told "Next time you require any materials, please contact me (Darren) directly and I will compensate you in the value of the purchase."”
“Ordered 5 lengths of skirting board online very reasonably priced. Went to collect them but they were behind some delivered pallets of timber etc the person takes with getting them for me was not happy and made it very clear, tutting and huffing dragging his feet and muttering under his breath how he’s now got to move all this just to get my purchase”
