“Ordered a pachira as a gift and was incredibly impressed when it arrived within 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was delivered during the cold snap and suffered severe frost damage. Within a day, 90% of the foliage yellowed and wilted. I filled out the online form and got a response within an impressive 9 minutes. After sending some pictures, the team immediately arranged a replacement in time for Christmas. Not only that, but they also gave me instructions on how to prune the original plant to try and revive it (so I've now got a bonus rescue plant). The replacement is in great condition, and the prices from Hortology seem to beat similar online plant stores so I will definitely be ordering in the future. Absolutely cannot fault the wonderful, efficient customer service I received from Shona. Thanks Hortology!”

“I bought a pot and it is exactly the same as in the pictures and what was expected - a ceramic pot of quality make and design. The communication had with the company is quick-time response and deliveries take place within the duration. The pots also come well-packaged and so no chance of cracks en-route. The lost star is because I complained prior to purchase that one of the (tailor-made) pots in the images on the website shows a blemishing and so had to request a hand-picked item; and to make the point, that the image of the pot is still uploaded instead of being taken down and the pot itself marked as a second. The item looks very nice where it is placed. Another useful addition to this product are small round black rubber pads, which stop the possibility of surfaces being scratched.”

“At first I was quite excited to get two alocasia elephant ear from Hortology. My vision was to bring up a bit of green at work ( work with elderly patients. I received them during a week of cold of weather in London and both got frozen bites. I need to cut off all leaves and now I am trying to nursing them back to life, wish me luck.”

“The plants are great quality and good value. I’m disappointed with the pots - the colour is less vibrant and different from all the website views, much less green and more grey. But they are good quality and the website and service was excellent, although way too much packaging for the pots was used.”

The vast majority of our pots are handmade and we do mention "handmade - every one is unique. Slight imperfections and variations may occur in colour, shape and size" on their page https://hortology.co.uk/collections/all/products/thies-plant-pot-olive-green Packaging, pots and transport create an interesting mix, whilst the packaging may seem excessive it is absolutely necesary to keep those pots intact during transit. We have spent a lot of time testing and developing our packaging to ensure this is optimal, both from a protective but also from an environmental perspective.
