My wife and I (Customer 10950852) chose Hillarys Blinds because of their positive reviews, the customer service and warranties advertised on their website and promotional material, and their offering a ‘one-stop’ shop including measuring, manufacturing and installing the blinds. For all of the above, we were prepared to pay more than other providers and ordered six real bamboo blinds for our house. The start was excellent. An advisor came to our house at the arranged time, took some measurements and gave us a quote. We agreed to go with that quote and a second advisor (Riki) came to our house to take more detailed measurements and to set a date for the installation. We paid the balance. And it was here that things went pear shaped. On the agreed date of installation, Riki phoned in the morning to confirm the meeting and my wife and I ensured we were home that day. However, the timeframe for the appointment came and went and nobody showed up. Later that evening, at 18:44 I received a message from Riki simply saying that another job had overrun. It took some time and effort (and several calls to Hillarys customer service) to find another date for the installation, but eventually the advisor came to our house and installed the blinds. They looked nice. However, after about one week, one of the blinds began to jam when we pulled the chord. We thought this should not be a problem given that Hillarys offers a 1-year warranty on their products. So we called Hillarys customer service on 0800 916 1094 to report this. In fairness, customer service agents were helpful. They told us that they will contact an advisor who will contact us within the next 48hours to check out the issue. But 48hrs came and went and we did not hear anything. We phoned and emailed Hillarys customer service again, and we were told the same thing, except this time they were contacting another advisor. The 48hrs came and went, and again silence. We were not contacted by any Hillarys agents. I called Hillarys customer service for the third time and was told to expect to be contacted by one of its advisors by the end of 30/11/2023. 30 November 2023 came and went, and nobody from Hillarys contacted us. This lack of reliable after-sales service is deeply disappointing, especially from a company that prides itself on customer satisfaction. A simple inspection of a faulty blind turned into an ordeal of unmet promises and wasted time. Regrettably, this experience has left us questioning Hillarys Blinds’ commitment to their customers. In the future, we would seek out a company that truly prioritizes and delivers on their promises of excellent service.

Measured and fitted a blind to our bathroom sash window. When the window is open, maybe 1 inch, blind is sucked into the window cavity. Explained this to the fitter when he fitted a second blind 2 months later. Blind is now damaged as it's been sucked in so many times. Company said I would be charged for a replacement blind as it's just outside 2 year warranty. If it was measured correctly would never have been an issue. (Didn't complain officially before as I thought it was just annoying rather than cause physical damage) Pretty disgusted by Customer service response. Should have replaced blind as a gesture of good will since it was incorrectly measured at the start, was too nice to ask the fitter to replace at the time. Lesson learnt!

Disgusting lack of service. Ordered shutters in August, fitting was arranged for last Friday. Due to fit between 12 and 3pm. Fitter sent text 2:50pm stating that he was running late and wouldn't be able to fit and would have to reschedule. Spoke to two agents at Hillarys on Friday, neither would put me through to a manager and am still waiting for the rescheduled appointment. Now proceeding with a Section 75 claim as Hillarys have broken their contract as the product and service has not been delivered. Buyer beware!

Awful experience from the start. Blinds definitely not made to measure as they're currently hanging crooked on my window. Blinds on my patio door falling off after only a few months. Holes drilled into my wall without even asking. Currently been waiting for two weeks for them to confirm that someone will come out to do repairs. Having to constantly chase this. As soon as they have your money they don't care. Avoid.

Absolutely disgusted with this company! After 9 months of emails back and forth I have just received a letter threatening court action. Ordered shutter blinds for 4 windows, 3 of which I was very happy with and have paid for. However the fourth window was measured 1cm too short and the gap was filled with caulk which looks horrendous. They have offered me trim which I have refused as there is no trim on the other 3 windows, and I don’t see why I should accept this to cover up their fitters mistake when he measured the window. Absolutely at my wits end, the letter threatening court action came through yesterday on my granddaughters first birthday, am so upset. I have already paid them in full for the three windows which were measured and fitted correctly and don’t see why I should have to pay £900 for a window shutter I’m not happy with, but feel like I am being bullied into it.

Clearly I am not the only one being done over by this awful company judging from the terrible reviews they are inundated with. These scammers claim I signed a contract with them for a pair of curtains that were costing over £1600. For two curtains! I did not sign any contract with them yet I am wrapped up in legal proceedings fighting a CCJ. Completely dishonest, evil company and I cannot stress enough that this company should be avoided at all costs.

Avoid avoid avoid Fitted the wrong type of blind, meant door could not be fully opened. Numerous calls, emails and subsequent visits. Was promised a different type of blind but did not supply what was promised. And, the other blinds that were fitted were really poor workmanship (screws in different places on the bracket) Really expect a higher quality of service from Hillary’s which is why I used them in the first place. Would have had higher quality workmanship from a handyman!

Extremely poor and indifferent, disorganised customer service. Couldn't deliver the full order despite much chasing and their insistence I paid in full. Took 8 months before my final blinds came during which they threatened court and legal action to make me pay for the Missing blinds. Eventually they blamed their self employed team of fitters and sent the final blinds. Quality of fit was poor and rushed within five minutes.

Blinds ordered beginning July, was to be fitted on the 2nd August, yes you guessed cancelled order not turned up. After another week I had to call them to find out what was going on, was told blinds to be fitted 27th August, sent then an enquiry for them to confirm the 27th which they did by return email, should have smelt a big fat rat as they did not give me the name of the fitter or a time! Yes you guessed again no one turned up, no call, no explanation, wasted day! I will keep you informed how I get on this week, but from what I have read they don’t really give a dam!

Hillarys installed 5 electric blinds in our living room. 1 motor stopped working within a year, and on 9 June we were promised a replacement. On 16 August we are still waiting !!!! Letters of complaint ignored, phone calls not returned, unbelievable excuses (2 separate motors for lost in transit l; unable to contact their employee to see if he has it etc)

Take your money and then they don't turn up, call the help desk constantly on hold saying how busy there operators are. Poor service and day wasted waiting at home.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Awful experience ordering and getting romans installed which has left me never wanting to see the Hillary‘s adviser again and had caused a lot of anxieties in our household. At first, they measured wrongly and so the blinds didn’t fit and had to be re-ordered. An extra 2 week wait. Second time around, the adviser just didn’t show up to 2 installation appointments. After calling up the HQ, I found out that they lost the re-ordered blinds in the warehouse and have to order them again! Another 2 week wait. Finally, blinds got installed but after several hours of huffing and puffing and trying to figure out how they motorise. Again, very anxiety inducing for us, the client. All the way throughout the process, I have been calling up the Hillary‘s HQs who kind of didn’t really seem to care that this job has been going on for over a month and we are left with light ruining our sleep. Nothing was ever offered to get sped up or else how remedied, it’s like they just don’t care. Well here we go, I could not recommend this company less. If you want peace for your family, order else where.

Initially ordered 5 sets of blinds for my floor to ceiling windows on June 10th with a fitting date set for 27th June. Unfortunately, Hillarys use a 3rd party courier service who seem completely incapable of giving you a date or time when they are about to deliver, a huge problem if you live 200 miles away from your apartment. I eventually received the blinds but 3 of the 5 were completely broken and needed to be replaced. A replacement order was made with a new fitting date for 27th July. I had notified Hillarys of my current living situation and that I would need some form of notice of when the blinds were due to be delivered so I could travel down. Turns out Hillarys don't really have any control over the 3rd party courier and that I should contact them myself instead. Helpful. Anyway, I received a call 30 minutes ago from the driver out of the blue to say once again he's outside. I've got someone else to take the order for me thankfully, but once again the blinds have been completely destroyed in transit. A complete waste of 6 weeks with nothing to show for it. Absolutely useless is an understatement.

So far one star. They took half of my money in June and the blinds were supposed to be fitted yesterday. Nobody turned up and nobody bothered to ring to say the appointment wasn't going ahead. The call centre can't contact the fitter or his manager. They can only leave messages for them, and their current advice is that I have to wait for a manager or the fitter to pick up a message and call me back. So far nobody has taken ownership and the manager hasn't called back. They don't even know if the manager has seen the messages that has been sent as they can't contact them.

Do NOT get the electric blinds. The fitter and salesman told me that the batteries last months before you have to recharge them which is a complete lie - you have to charge them every 2 days and if you go away for a couple of day they will drain. I have 3 blinds from the ceiling and i have to get on a chair to charge them all the time. They also don't work manually with no charge so you get caught out without being able to shut or open them until you plug them in. Also the customer service is absolutely APPAULING.

What a cowboys they are. They took the money and twice they came to fix the problem and couldn't fix the issue with light bleeding through the blinds and finally they gave up and now saying there is nothing wrong with the manufacturing and they don't do anything and they don't refund money. Deeply disappointed with their ethics. please note they will promise so much to get your order and they come and fit it. In my case. their sales agent suggested a day/night blinds for bedrooms telling us that we don' get any light coming through the blinds except edges, but this is not the case and light comes through everywhere and hard to sleep in bedroom. They twice sent someone for inspection and they both agreed and ordered new blinds to fix the problem, but the problem persists and they gave up at the end. when approached their customer service they blindly rejects and don't want to do anything, telling there was nothing wrong with the fabric. I would avoid this company at all costs. Since I posted the above review here on Trustpilot I have spoken with their Sales team on the contact number given in trustpilot and they have not changed their stance telling me that I have signed their order, when in fact their sales agent recommended the kind of fabric that would not allow light come through. The problem was not about the colour of the fabric, the problem was with the fabric going wavy, hence creating a gap in between allowing light bleed through. it was confirmed by their own inspection team when they were on site. Hillary's now denying a refund, just saying there was nothing wrong with blind, which is completely a lie.
