They are very expensive. When they were first installed the electric blinds didn't stop properly once they had finished going up and down. That was fixed but a few months later one of the panels stopped working entirely. That was fixed as well but now more panels have stopped working and Hillarys want to charge us to fix them. If you spend thousands of pounds they should be reliable and you shouldn't have to keep paying to fix them.

Run an absolute mile. Sophia townsend messaged me yesterday, I was out. I messaged her back, and its now been 24 hours + no response. Electric blinds are stuck halfway, and people can see me and my wife as we sleep. Spent over £2000.00 on blinds for this level of service...… Do not I repeat, do not go with Hillary's if you prioritise good customer service, once you have paid them they really couldn't care less. This is the fourth time we've had issues now, which is fine, things happen to products over time, blinds are no different, but to not respond in a timely manner, is unprofessional.

We order blinds 2 sash and one arch back in Aug 24. 4 days ago 21st Oct I had a call from them telling me they couldn’t make the arched blind.. fitting date is end of November!!!! For an air BAnd B fully booked for December.. I asked if there was any other solution they came up with a roller🤣 absolute joke!!! Then they promised the salesman would rebook another appointment this didn’t happen… honestly this company is a joke I can’t believe they are still in business!!!! I would never recommend. I have to now go to a seamstress to make me Roman blind which to be honest I should have done in the first place as they are more reliable. Never again just want my 1000.00 back

Terrible quality products and absolute scammers. Despicable staff. Despicable staff, and terrible product quality, as well as services. I have been scammed, ordered a curtain worth £2000 pounds for my bedroom window, and got a patched curtain in both halves, the curtain has been patched twice each half. the outside of the curtain tips folds inside, it is short, and crooked. It looks absolutely terrible. I have had an absolute nightmare, from spending hours on the phone, being lied to by managers, and the sales person, the latter being the biggest scammer of all, saying I could get a full refund or they would fix it-replace as he placed a new order, you wait and wait, then you call and there is no order placed at all. This happened twice of a long period, since May. The seller, is named H Hussain Grain, and really deserves to be shamed. Not only he scammed me as he ruined my walls by drilling in multiple places that are now visible over the curtain. They refuse to get both seller and service managers on a call, as conveniently they say opposite things, he never returned to my house, and ended sending another seller that apparently also keeps lying. Poor quality employees or defected products happen everywhere, but it is as company that you can make things right, and show you are values and how committed you are to provide good quality products and services to your customers. Hillarys failed at that, despite me being patient and waiting for months ,believing in their word. Stay away from this company is my best advice. Date of experience: 22 May 2024

I am sorry to have to complain about your recently supplied and installed product. One of the blind strings has come loose from the plastic capsule. I cannot see how to open the capsule to replace the string. I have tried to contact Hillarys several times but just get a review reply .

Sales process good Installation efficient But after 3 weeks the motor stopped working it took another 3 weeks to repair and then refit the awning which did not work .despite regular contacts with either customer services and the Fitter we were offered an installation date when then had been made aware that we would be on holiday so by the time it is Fitted for the third time it will be almost 3 month in my ownership but just 3 weeks in use Difficult to recommend this company...expensive product not matched by quality after sales service..

I had a very frustrating experience with Hillarys Blinds. The salesperson did not show up for the first appointment, with no message or phone call to inform me. On the second attempt, despite confirming the appointment in the morning, the salesperson called 30 minutes before the scheduled time, essentially saying that if I didn’t answer my phone, he wouldn’t come. This was a complete waste of my day and very unprofessional. I expected better service from a company with such a reputation. Unfortunately, this experience has left me very disappointed and I would not recommend them.

It has been an ongoing saga from when we placed the order back in February this year. The sales person sold us inset door blinds for the french doors and shutters for the 3 lounge windows, of which we paid the full amount of £834.62 and half the shutters cost of £1251.89. The inset door blinds have been fitted incorrectly and we are still waiting for a maintenance call out to put these right. The shutters were due to be fitted on 31/5 and we are still waiting to date. We have made many phone calls and several emails to your customer services. Most calls are greeted with the same reply, we are trying to sort these issues out! We can not seem to speak to anyone higher than a customer service advisor! We are going to take thus to someone high in authority.

I had custom venetian blind made, the slats, length, etc are ok, but the cords are very poor quality and get twisted up. £250.00 It is certainly not worth the money!

100 Trustpilot pages of 1 star reviews !! Ordered and paid for Venetian blinds over two weeks ago. Advised fitter would contact me with a fitting date in two weeks when the blinds would be ready. Heard nothing. Called Hillarys to progress this and told nothing has been done or made because the order was not passed to manufacturing and they don't have the parts. No idea when they may deign to put this right and told I will have to wait ..........unbelievable !!! Don't take notice of the percentage of reviews this bunch of cowboys has over 100 pages of 1 star negative reviews. However 100% score for their self proclaiming expertise and claims to market leadership in their phoney advertising. I quote "you're in safe hands with the experts" and "the fitting process will go like a dream". More like a bunch of cowboys in a nightmare. Look at the 100 pages of negative 1 star reviews before you go anywhere near these wasters. I don't like anonymous posts. Over priced rubbish and very messy worker leaving bits of plastic all over the place in my house and refusing to take his rubbish with him Cheaper alts just as good!

I have recently had curtains fitted with Hillarys, and sadly, I have been left both upset and disappointed from the lack of service and disregard. From the initial fitting appointments to the curtains that I am left with today. There are 3 main issues: 1. Curtain length 2. Curtain hooks installation 3. Hillary's "customer service" 1. Curtain length During the initial fitting and a second appointment, I specifically instructed Hillarys that I wanted the curtains to be floor length, which is the main reason for getting curtains in the first instance, to stop light from entering and block any draught gaps. I was even happy for the curtains to pool, which I told the salesman. The curtains that have been fitted are not floor length, and let a lot of light through. When I queried this with customer services, the representative denied this outright, and stated I am lying and have never mentioned this. The business now refuse to take this matter any further. 2. Curtain hooks The curtain hooks installed are uneven on both sides, which is not what you'd expect for the premium paid for Hillarys "service". 3. Hillary's "customer service" I have contacted Hillarys regarding the length of the curtains, to which they have stated that they are not willing to assist me, and that this is their "final stance" on the matter. I have spent thousands with this company, the results are not what I paid for and feel like I've been treated incredibly unfairly and taken advantage of. Appalling customer service, zero after care - they will fob you off as soon as you pay them. Avoid this company at all cost.

Been waiting 11 months for replacement shutter frame . So many phone calls / emails and no one calls back . Fitter finally came to replace parts and having taken old frame out the new one was the wrong size . Had to put old one back and promised would reorder and get it sent by by . Advised would confirm and heard nothing . Hillary’s are completely incompetent with zero customer service . Would anyone from Hillary’s care to answer yet another email ?

TL;DR: Do not expect a custom colour to be the colour you want. Hillarys does not care. Recently, I bought a house and had it remodelled. So I ordered several shutters (for 4 rooms), roller blinds for 2 rooms, pull-down blinds for my kitchen doors, and Velux blinds for 3 Velux windows. The quality is good - with one small caveat which I’ll get into later. The installation was fantastic. However, I chose a custom colour for the shutters and it came out all wrong. Hillarys has chosen to do nothing about it. I wanted to match the Farrow & Ball paint I chose for the trim around my windows and baseboards and general trim around the whole house, Wimborne White. For those unfamiliar with it, Wimborne White is a warm, creamy white. The Wimborne White Hillarys gave me is a cool-toned white. In fact, it is so cool-toned that it looks almost grey. And I spent a large sum of money eradicating all grey from the house. It looks just “off” inside the windows that have Wimborne White all around them. In fact, on the day it was installed, 15 March 2024, my builder called me in a panic and said the installer should stop as it looks completely wrong. Today is 1 June 2024 and I received my final “We are choosing to do nothing about your issue” email. I want to pause here with the negative and give a positive review for the installer. He was great! The installation was great and he worked very quickly. I have nothing but praise for him. Back to the Wimborne White… I emailed Hillarys immediately with my concern about the colour. I emailed multiple photographs. Their response was that I had ordered Wimborne White and I received Wimborne White and thus there is nothing that they would do. Yes, this is true on the surface level. But their factory’s Wimborne White is not the same as the one that comes out of the F & B paint can! I understand that matching colours can come out a shade or two different. This would be fine. But to go from warm to cool is totally different. Furthermore, for some reason, the cool-toned white makes the shutters look cheap and plastic-like. I was assured that I had bought the top of the line wooden shutters. Sadly, they do not look it. There were numerous emails back and forth regarding the colour. Finally, they sent someone to come look at it in person. The person they sent is 1. an independent contractor who could not make any decisions about what to do because independent contractors cannot do this (not his fault - completely Hillarys fault for sending an independent contractor) and 2. colour blind. I find it laughable that they sent a colour blind person to check on the nuances of a colour! By this point, I just had to laugh at everything that was happening. The independent contractor did bring samples of their standard white shutter colours and my shutters match one of those standard white colours more than it matches the F & B Wimborne White. The last insult was being addressed as “Mr” in an email. How careless. In fact, that sums up my experience: careless. The irony of this is that the only compensation I requested was the price difference between standard white shutters and custom colour. This request is more than reasonable. Considering the multiple thousands of pounds (£7k plus) I spent on the shutters and blinds, a few hundred pounds is nothing. And I requested it only for the two front rooms, as those are the ones that had the very obviously-different F & B trim around the windows. (It was not so obvious in the other two rooms so I was happy to let those slide.) It is not about receiving the reimbursement itself; it is the principle that their colour is wrong and having that acknowledged. I feel every single person at Hillarys I contacted (email and telephone) failed miserably to understand that *their* Wimborne White is not the same Wimborne White that comes from the F & B paint can. (I had Wimborne White throughout my house and the builders used a lot of cans so it’s not as if this varied from just one can.) They kept saying the shutters were free from any defect. I never claimed there was a defect with the actual shutters. My claim is that their version of Wimborne White is not the same as the original. Every single visitor I’ve had to my house agrees that the two colours (the F & B Wimborne White and their version of it) look completely different. Lastly, I kept requesting that their factory be informed of this error, as I do not want other people to be as gravely disappointed with their shutters as I was. There was zero acknowledgement of that, either. I have more Velux blinds to order but will never return to Hillarys.

Appalling products and appalling customer service. Paid £1600+ for 4 pairs of made to measure curtains. The curtains look appalling - have not been pressed, look like cardboard. One pair had a seam 10 cm from the outer edge on both curtains. Went through customer services. After sending in photos, had a video call with a lady who was most sympathetic and agreed the curtains look awful. Said straight away the ones with the seam would have to be re-made. Had to take a second day off work for the fitter to come with the new curtains and to steam and dress the others. The steaming and dressing made zero difference. Curtains still full of pointy angles like they are made out of cardboard and look like they haven't been pressed. The icing on the cake was that the curtains with the seam were re-made.... With an identical seam in the exact same place!!!! Complained again, was asked to send in more photos. These curtains are starting to feel like a second job at this point. Sent in yet more photos. They then called me to say they hadn't received photos. I directed them to my earlier e-mails and then they found the photos but could only open two and said it looked like there was nothing wrong except they needed to be steamed and dressed.... which had already been done when the fitter came out the second time and made precisely zero difference. Sent in more photos. Prepared for a fight now.

The person measuring the colour was green I order blue / green blinds 2 of them were not pleated the so on the window looked odd x the person fitting the blinds Maria Lopez damaged my wall went through wallpaper lining paper and plaster x did not say anything when fitting blinds and left in a hurry!! She also put one winder 25cm higher than the other side so I could reach it then did not accept she did damaged .she is a not telling the truth then I only offered £25.00 . This not acceptable and will not be anymore blinds nor will mother who was just about have 5 blinds for the house . But say the man who fitted the new blinds after I refused have Lopez back in my house was very good and he sorted out the winder as wel but he say she not fitted the properly because was no raw plug fitted .but he not huff and up a ladder and demand the heating was turned off as have multiple sclerosis I need the heat on that day and she demand the furniture was moved as I had a relapse months previous this some doing approx 1 week . And had leave like till the new blind was fitted .

I didn't expect that such a well-know company would make terrible job.After 1 year on 1 side the blind fell down.Fitted awful big gap between ceiling. The employee came and told us that gap must be otherwise it would be no level. Incredibly disappointed. Expected much more and excellent job when u pay a lot of money.Order No305603398

Installed incorrect blinds. Poor customer service. Will never order from them again! Late last year, I ordered blackout blinds from them and clearly said this on my initial consolation that I needed this type of blind otherwise I wouldn't need a blind at all. When the fitting guy came out, he said there was a different type of blind that would be better for me but it was still blackout. He criticized the previous guy and made it clear that these were better for what I needed. When they arrived, they were indeed NOT blackout and the company have refused to even have a conversation with me about it. They did not send me an order confirmation to approve, but just asked me to sign something when the guy was on site and had persuaded me to go for these new blinds. Also, now the blind are broken and do not even work. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
