“Delivered on the right day. Prepped the turkey the night before I cooked it. Cooked breast side down, moist, lovely taste. I have been ordering from Herd Fed for a few years after a disastrous xmas when the turkey i bought from well known supermarket was off. Decided I didn’t want one wrapped in plastic, much nicer for the turkey to be dry and boxed.”

“Very tasty turkey though it didn’t cook to the time that had been advised. Was hard to judge if it was done so I think we overdid it. Would get a smaller one next time as only three of us eating it and had the 2.5 kg bird and didn’t have room for the turkey sandwiches.”

“Well packaged & delivered to pre-arranged time. Great flavour & quality meat & we would order again. Only down-side were the number of quills remaining in the bird which we had to remove ourselves.”

“we enjoyed the roast, served in Blackcountry fashion with roast pork, sage onion & bacon stuffing. and plenty of gravy. I found it needed a little longer than recommended, but delicious.”

“A lovely Turkey breast and leg joint. Much tasteier cold than hot. This was the first turkey I had bought off the bone, so I am unsure if this affected the flavour”

“Had the rooster (4.5kg) and it made the perfect Christmas Day Bird lovely and juicy and succulent without any of the dryness of turkey, plenty of leftovers to do different things with.”

“The rooster came really well packaged and in the morning of day booked. A big fat bird which had been well reared; I could tell this from the condition of the legs. I spatchcocked it so it would fit easily into the Aga oven and marinaded it for 24 hours before cooking. It was moist and had reasonably good flavour. I shall seriously consider purchasing again, in part for the quality and also for the welfare standard.”

“Excellent turkey, very well packed - arrived here still cold and on the arranged day. One of the best pieces of turkey meat I've had. On the expensive side, though.”

“The flavour was good and we enjoyed it. However the timing was out. It came out of the refrigerator to come up to room temperature first thing in the morning and we were planning to eat at about 6:30 in the evening. I have a 2 door electric Aga and had the temperature up high. The booklet was very clear and said for a 4.4lb (mine was slightly under 4lb) crown it will be 1 hour 5 minutes. But it required a further half an hour because even the breast part was still running pink. So the rest of the dinner was cooked while we waited for the meat to catch up unfortunately. Next time I will know to allow the traditional 15 minutes per pound.”

“Delivered exactly on time which was very good. Can’t give five stars as the birds haven’t been eaten yet, so don’t know what they taste like. I’m sure they will be excellent.”

“First purchase ever of a Turkey Crown & from Herb Fed...arrived on time & was bigger than expected. Very pleased we had good turkey even though it was a Lockdown Thanksgiving dinner. Hopefully 2021 will be back to usual dinner for 15 friends - that’s a true Thanksgiving.”

“This is some very tasty chicken. The whole bird was particularly nice. I wish they’d found a less wasteful way of packaging it, but of course with raw flesh safety is paramount.”
