“They were great for advice before we bought the product, and the great quality of the greenhouse meant that it was easy for our handyman to install. My mum uses it as a garden room, and enjoys sitting in it all year round.”

“The greenhouse parts plus glass arrived safely packed. We erected the greenhouse ourselves and after a couple of initial errors we got into the swing of it and are really pleased with the results. The diagrams in the instruction manual could be clearer but we got there, though it did seem to take many hours.”

“The instructions for assembly were not as clear as they should be so that extended the time it took to put together. Also the bolts holding the frame together work themselves loose far too easily until the glass is in place which makes handling difficult.”

With regard to the bolts, they are intended to be left semi-tight until the frame has been squared and the glass has been fitted. This is an important part of the assembly process, as fully tightening the frame too early can make glazing installation difficult. Once the greenhouse is correctly aligned, the fixings can be fully tightened. We appreciate your comments and will use them to help improve our guidance for future customers.

“Customers like me need proper warnings when buying a greenhouse. I bought the 3x6 Access Exbury Mini Greenhouse Toughened Glass (CX5). It is NOT 3' by 6' but 2'7" by 6'4". This is problematic as I had my builder prepare the ground according to the retailer's advice asking him to prepare a base measuring 3'x6'. You can find the actual measurements on the website but for an amateur buying a greenhouse named 3x6 it is VERY confusing. There is NO warning that the products are not measured in whole or full feet but in seemingly random numbers of feet and inches. When I asked the customer services of the manufacturer, what 3x6 means in the Mini Greenhouse name, she told me that she had no idea. She told me to contact the retailers. I find myself with a beautifully built and finished base of Indian sandstone. It is too small for the greenhouse frame I bought for over £1200. The base cost me two half days' labour plus materials. The builder did some other jobs for me whilst he was here, so I can't give the exact cost of the greenhouse base, but it is between £500 and £850. Higely disappointing. There should be a warning flag saying that 3x6 greenhouses are a different size and NOT 3x6.”

We’re genuinely sorry that this caused an issue with your builder’s base, and we do hope the greenhouse serves you well once installed. “It was easy to choose the greenhouse itself and then the extras. Hassle free and it was delivered when expected. I would however advise that you may want to hire someone to put it together for you, unless you are good at following this sort of instructions. The greenhouse looks fantastic and I am very happy to have bought it. I would recommend the Greenhouse Stores.”

“Took longer than they said to get because I had to wait until they had a lorry in my area. Ordered June 23rd not delivered until 9th September. Had to order more retro bolts as there wasn’t enough. The gable end roof beam on one side didn’t match.”

We’ll raise this with the manufacturer to ensure the retro bolts and the gable end roof beam issue are addressed so it doesn’t happen again. Regarding the delivery time, we do state on our product pages and order confirmations that these buildings are made to order and have an estimated lead time of around 14 weeks. Your delivery date falls within that schedule, but we completely understand that waiting for a suitable lorry route can still be frustrating, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused. “Great product and straight forward to assemble, would suggest a few addition 3D views in the assembly manual but thats only so you can confirm which orientation you are working on. Also make sure the base is securely fixed prior to the build and ensure you are within 1mm on corner to corner measuring so you know you are square before you start building up. Some of confusion on some of the instructions as the description can be read several ways. All in all a very simple build. Only concern is how it acts in strong winds, I have positioned mine adjacent to a fence on one side and a structure at the rear to try and reduce the potential for wind causing damage”

For polycarbonate models, if you’re in a windy location or want extra peace of mind, you can also run a bead of silicone sealant around the panels once fitted.
