“My experience started off positively. The person I spoke to was friendly and the installation was booked for a Thursday. However, on the Tuesday the plumber called to say he no longer wanted to take the job. I live in Cambridge and he was based in London, so the “local engineers” claim is misleading. No one from Glow Green informed me that he had pulled out. There was no site visit before the installation; everything was arranged over the phone. In hindsight, this was a major mistake. When issues later came up, a Glow Green engineer suggested running pipes either across my kitchen ceiling or along the front of the house. At the time I felt I had no real choice. Now I believe they were simply trying to secure the booking and payment without properly assessing the property. Thursday came, and both my daughter and I had taken the day off to be home. We waited, but no one arrived. After chasing Glow Green several times, I was eventually told the engineer had rejected the job and they were trying to rearrange another date. Again, nobody had bothered to inform me. Two weeks later, the new installation date arrived. This time an engineer did turn up. I had specifically requested a site visit beforehand to avoid further issues and to confirm the boiler and pipework layout. That visit never happened. When the engineer arrived, he immediately said Glow Green’s earlier suggestions were completely unsuitable and unnecessary. He explained the boiler could be installed upstairs in the airing cupboard, with pipes neatly hidden and no damage to the property. In fact, this option was closer and more efficient, meaning there should have been no extra cost. I had repeatedly asked for confirmation that there would be no surprises, yet clearly the initial advice from Glow Green was poor from the start. The problems continued. The engineer then discovered that some required pipework had not been included in the job specification. Glow Green said it was the installer’s responsibility, but the installer had not been told and said he would never have accepted the job had he known about the extra copper required. The installer and Glow Green then spent hours arguing on the phone, meaning work could not even begin until late afternoon. Before booking, I had asked multiple times for confirmation that there would be no additional installation costs. Despite this, Glow Green later contacted me asking for extra payment for copper pipes, even though these were supposedly included. The only reason they asked was because the installer refused to absorb the cost. I asked them directly to be honest about why I was being charged extra, but that never happened. I could hear parts of the ongoing disputes between Glow Green and the installer throughout the day, which was incredibly frustrating. Waste removal caused yet another issue. The installer had not been told he was responsible for taking away waste and had not planned for it. This led to further arguments with Glow Green, who I believe later deducted the cost from his payment. Overall, there were countless emails and phone calls, creating significant stress, frustration and anxiety before and during the two-day installation. Had I known how disorganised the process would be, I would never have gone ahead. The invoice, unsurprisingly, arrived immediately. Glow Green operates remotely, does not carry out proper site surveys, communicates poorly with subcontractors, and repeatedly fails to deliver on what it promises. In the end, both the customer and the installer are left to deal with the consequences of a flawed system and poor coordination. Thankfully, the local installation company who completed the work were excellent. I genuinely believe many others would have walked away and left me without a functioning boiler. I only wish I had found them sooner and dealt with them directly. Never again. I would not recommend Glow Green to anyone.”

“I was, initially, nervous about using Green Glow as the only contact was by phone but as they had been recommended by British Gas we decided to proceed. The whole process from beginning to end was smooth with a clear communication of when the system would be installed. All the contractors were excellent from the scaffolders to the electrician and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. The certificates needed to register the system did take longer than expected to be issued but the customer service (Manno) was very helpful and kindly recompensed me for lost revenue. Overall a pain free experience with lower electricity bills from the outset.”

David our fitter was great and his work was very tidy!!. Done his best to try and work to our needs with where we wanted the Air conditioning in our house. “Was mislead about the cost to close the deal. Ignored for a week and given different (higher costs). Attempted to contact several times , difficult company to get hold of. Support tickets ignored, credibility score of 0 Install: Panels arrived damaged, no gateway, scaffolding arrived in 2 stages as the contractor disabled it from another job then erected it unsafely outside my house late. No ladders or hoist for the roofer so had to supply my own. Had to lift my own powerwall into the house. Further visits booked and missed by glowgreen. Solar panels were left with discolouration as the installer needed to climb the floor as the scaffolding was the wrong height. Installer then brought other half to site to help with job in absence of electricians. Please have a look at the wonky panels and poor overall quality of a glow green installation”

“Fantastic company to deal with, one hiccup on the design which was ably and quickly resolved by Mike on the installation team. Installation was smooth and professional and completed in two days!
