I called for assistance because I felt strong vibrations in the car floor and unusual loud noise. I had to wait a little over an hour as the rescue vehicle had trouble locating me. From then on the service was excellent. The engine was checked, including a diagnostic test: no obvious problem. The noise was found to be caused by holes developing in the 'back box' of the exhaust system which I later had replaced I was able to continue my long journey assured that my car was safe to drive and that the further driving would not cause damage to my vehicle. The very young looking person who attended my problem seemed very skilled and was efficient and courteous. This was my second experience of a call out. A few months earlier my alternator failed. On that occasion an older very experienced person was able to get me back on the road in minuted after a few hammer taps released my jammed alternator. I feel confident driving an older vehicle (16 years and counting) with GEM support. Dr Robert Ash

I've only made use of the recovery team to recharge my car battery. The service was good and arrived more quickly than the estimated time. Also using the other adverts in your magazine I was able to get a different service at a better price than I'd previously found. The videos are good regarding tips for older drivers. I'm happy with your service. I can only give another Very Good for my policy renewal. You took into consideration the relatively few miles I drive each year and quoted me a good price. Well done!

Perfect service. Breakdown vehicle arrived within the hour. Very helpful phone operator who arranged recovery for my car. The only small issue was the identification of my car as it is a kitcar and is not recognised on DVLA website. Overall very pleased with the service from GEM and the recovery driver. My car was repaired the following day.

I have been a member of GEM Motoring Assist for over 10 years and found them to be 100% reliable both in the excellent breakdown service that I have received from staff members and prompt financial settlement at all times.

Absolutely excellent, efficient and sympathetic staff on the phone, the recovery driver was so kind and thoughtful. We couldn't have asked for better service during a stressful breakdown with our two small grandsons in the car on a wet and windy day. thank you GEM.

From the initial call through my wife found the person on the phone to be extremely helpful and understanding of her situation. The guy who came to her assistance was very polite and very thorough with the problem with the car and although no action was required to remedy the cars problem he then followed her to our local garage in case the initial problem re occurred. Overall, our first time using this service and we are very impressed.

I would highly recommend GEM .We have used the breakdown a couple of times and have never had to wait long with excellent service. The price is competitive however all discounts always seem to be for new customers.Loyalty is not rewarded

Brilliant service, the agent who dealt with my call was efficient, friendly and concerned making sure I was safe. Phoned me back telling me who would be coming out to me and when to expect them. Apologising about the length of the wait and again ensuring I was safe. The recovery company Twigg Brothers of Sheffield arrived 40 minutes ahead of schedule phoning me before they arrived. Within 15 mins I was on my way home. I even got a phone call from GEM to ensure everything I was OK. Brilliant service thank you.

After a pleasant drive into North Yorkshire, there was suddenly a screaming sound and smoke pouring from under the bonnet of my car. This was a Sunday evening, so I was a bit dubious as to whether we would get some help. One phone call to Gem; breakdown truck turned up exactly at the time he said it would. Problem was the air con unit that had seized. This could not be repaired at the road side so we and the car were taken home on the low loader. The cost of this would have been approx double my annual fee to Gem, so I was very pleased with the whole procedure.

Fortunately i didn't have any breakdowns over the course of my first year with GEM so i didn't have to call them out . What i can say though is that they provided me with some good cover , as i needed to cover myself on my day to day car (Ford Fiesta) , 1970 VW camper van and my beloved Vespa scooter . I signed up happily for a second years cover .

Hello there gem I am very happy with the servise i recieved when inhad the issue with my car. Im very happy with the person i delt with on the phone (very helpfull), very happy with the macanic and the tow truck driver that were both sent to my location on NEW YEARS DAY.
