“An incredible experience!!
Before booking, I knew the places I wanted to visit and for how long I wanted to visit for, but was completely clueless on how to do it. I went to Gap 360 where Chris managed to find me exactly what I wanted for a great price.
The holiday itself was amazing. Although you only spend a few days in each city; Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo, you still fit tons in. The coach was really comfortable (bearing in mind I can get quite car sick!) and the accommodation was one of the highlights - the cabins are simple but in incredible settings.
There was loads of options of things to do which were extras. None were too pricey but many worth doing. The coach tour of each city when we arrived was really helpful for getting a general feel for the place.
Do be aware that Scandinavia really is pricey, so I was thankful to have some breakfast/lunch and dinners included in the price. All of great quality & very healthy for 'camping food' - you would never guess it was.
It's a very safe way of travelling alone, but not completely alone - most on the coach were in the same position and all wanted to make friends and have a great time together. I didn't need to use the emergency Gap360 number!
Overall, it was the perfect snapshot of travelling around that area, and I would recommend the experience to anyone.”
“I'm NOT a happy costumer, the information I got about the program was not good. They told me that there was a 'holiday program', but there would be still work. When I arrived in Cape Town, the organisation told me that there was a holiday in the holiday program, so there was no work at all. I was only there for 19 days and there was a two week holiday. I paid a lot of money for nothing and I only got a very little amount back, compare to what I paid Gap360, while it's their fault and not mine, they didn't tell me that I would be in a holiday with no work. I feel pickpocket!”
We are sorry to read that you feel that way Jalisa. As you know, we do state – both on our website and in your detailed trip information - that during holiday periods there will be an alternative programme in place, and volunteers will be doing different activities. This was true of your time in Cape Town, over Christmas.
Although there was no activities scheduled for public holidays (Christmas and New Years days) we do feel that a fantastic alternative schedule was in place, and that this was communicated to you – both prior to your departure, and whilst in South Africa, when you raised concerns.
Your programme, which included helping to renovate the community centres and handing out Christmas presents to local disadvantaged children, is a very worthwhile project, and something that is very much appreciated by the families who benefit. It’s a shame that you didn’t enjoy this and made the decision to leave early.
Since your early departure, a refund of 35% of your programme fee has already been refunded to you, as a gesture of goodwill for the unused portion of your trip, and your co-ordinator from Gap 360 is still communicating with you on this matter.
“Gap 360 as a company were extremely helpful and friendly. They answered all questions quickly and efficiently, explaining in detail about your trip. They supported in booking flights and kept in contact prior to the trip as well as on the trip.
I went on the South African WIld Adventure- a truly incredible trip.
All the staff were brilliant and incredibly friendly. They included everyone on the trip and made you feel like you were part of their family. If there were any problems the leaders, guides and even manager were easy to get a hold of and would help you sort things straight away.
The accommodation exceeded expectations and was in a beautiful setting. The communal areas were cleaned every day and we ate delicious food cooked for us by one of the staff.
The experiences we had amazing and had variety and interest, from game drives to visiting the local children's centre to abseiling down a waterfall.
This trip was fantastic value for money, an absolute bargain in my opinion for all the activities that were included.”
“I booked a trip way in advance of the trip date because I was advised that I would save lots of money with the early bird discount. However, it turns out I only saved £20 when this years prices came out which is not a saving at all when I'm paying nearly £3000 (European pioneer) for a trip. Now the trip is on sale which saves over £100. Don't be persuaded by the early bird price, it's not worth it!”
“Absolutely amazing experience - first time travelling alone, so was very nervous! But they kept me very well informed in the weeks leading up to my trip and there was always somebody there to answer any questions I had - no matter how silly I thought they were!
Very good value for money, would recommend the Thai Intro tour to anybody and will definitely be using the Gap360 company again!
Thank you for an unforgettable trip!”
“Booked 3 trips through Gap 360 in South Africa. 2 weeks Volunteer and safari, 2 weeks monkey sanctuary, and the 10 day Capetown/garden route. Overall an absolutely incredible experience on all the trips i done, and was a great way to experience different sides to South Africa. Rachel as the Gap360 adviser for South Africa trips was always helpful with any queries i had, and answer any questions once i had booked the trips. Also helped book a few extra nights at a hostel for me, and once out in South Africa i noticed an issue with my return flights. Having booked through Gap360's partner flight company, i rang them when out in SA and they managed to sort my change of flights with the flight company for me, without me having to ring around and chase it up. Brilliant help, allowing me just to enjoy the trip. Over all, from booking the trip to the end of the trip, everything went smoothly, all was as advertised on the website and i had an amazing time. Would definitely recommend and used Gap360 again!”
“I booked two trips with Gap360.. one on a wildlife reserve in South Africa and the other for working abroad in Australia.
I just got back from South Africa and had the most incredible time, Gap were supportive from the start helping me to pick my projects and helping my prepare before I departed and also while I was in South Africa. The price was the cheapest I found out of everywhere I looked and I had an unforgettable 2 weeks in South Africa.”
“A great starter trip for novice travelers, with a balance of volunteer work, fun activities and down time. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. However I feel the itinerary was a little vague as the volunteering activities were not what I expected.”
“I'm going on my trip September 2015. The gap 360 staff have been so amazingly helpful, sorting out my payments, trip and flights! Can't wait to jet off!”
“I would definitely recommend Gap 360 to anyone thinking of travelling. They were excellent, efficient and very helpful. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. I would definitely book with them again in the future!”
“Tour guide was fantastic, he catered for everyone's needs and made sure everyone was happy and comfortable. He was also very knowledgeable about every state and activity we did.
Gap 360 were very helpful in the lead up to my trip. The website had everything I needed to make sure I was well prepared for my trip. However make sure to contact G adventures about excursions because Gap 360 only told me about the Grand Canyon helicopter ride but when I turned up there was a swamp tour and I had to pay 99 dollars for the Monument Valley over night stay which Gap 360 did not tell me about when I called up a few days before departure.”
“This summer was my first time travelling to Asia, and before I left the UK lots of people asked me why I'd picked China as my introduction to Asia, rather than somewhere like Thailand. China has always been a country that I've wanted to visit, with the Great Wall being a definite Bucket List item of mine, but I had heard that travelling round China as an individual is incredibly hard because of the language barrier, so when I found Gap 360's China Adventure this seemed like the perfect way to see the country.
Gap 360 were really helpful and great at providing information before I left the UK, and the booking pack they sent me with my itinerary and visa application guide made getting my China visa sorted so easy. The pack provided loads of detailed information so I felt prepared and not at all worried about travelling to and arriving in Hong Kong by myself.
The tour itself was one of the best experiences of my life. My group was a good size (there were 12 of us) and a range of ages, which was nice as I was worried that I might be one of the oldest! Everything ran smoothly, and there was a good balance of organised activities and free time to explore the cities we visited by ourselves, which I think is important to have. One of the less positive aspects of the trip is that there are couple of fairly long overnight train journeys (24 hours being the longest!) which aren't the most fun, however in a country as big as China it's to be expected and thankfully we had Uno and packs of cards to keep us entertained!
The trip really is great value for money, as in every city we visited there was an 'unmissable attraction' that was included in the price, such as bamboo rafting in Yangshuo, visiting the Panda Research Centre in Chengdu, and camping on the Great Wall of China in Beijing. Our guides were also fantastic, and having a new local guide in each city was really good as it meant they knew the cities inside out, and could take us to some real local spots and tell us the best places to get authentic Chinese food, as well as taking us to the more touristy places. They also knew lots about the history of the areas and were always able to give us lots information about the places we visited, whether it was the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an or the Forbidden City in Beijing.
The China Adventure is perfect for anyone who's keen to travel China and get a real feel for the country and it's culture; it was an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it!”
“This will remain one of the most significant and memorable experiences of my life. I have made wonderful friends and seen great things. Taking this trip has inspired me to keep travelling as much as I can and continue meeting new people. Dora has been an excellent tour guide - organised, enthusiastic and funny - which only further enriched the experience. It was great meeting so many new people from all over the world - Aussies, Kiwis and Candies (what I am calling Canadians).
There are few better reasons to be in debt financially than for an excellent adventure travelling.”
“Phoned to book the San Francisco to New York trip for 2015 and received a fantastic service from Sam. He made the booking experience quick and easy. Katie has also been extremely helpful with the planning of our trip and I feel reassured we are in good hands for our trip!
Thank you!”
“The trips was a short insight into all the best bits of Thailand! Until the last few days on the beach, we were kept very busy with lots of exciting things to do (most notably, riding elephants and trekking through the jungle)! Be prepared for long bus journeys (up to 12 hours) between destinations but it is definitely worth it!!”
“The South Africa wild Adventure trip is absolutely spot on for younger travellers and adventure seekers. The trip combines a portion of conservation work with safaris, game drives, kruger days, and extreme sports to jam pack four weeks. Its the perfect length of time to travel for, especially if its your first adventure. You get three hours in the middle of the day, during the majority of your stay, to avoid the midday heat and sunbathe and swim. You make a home at gazebo lodge and a family with all the people there, im missing them all so much. How quick I made friends with everyone helps form solid friendships and reunions are all beginning for me! Highly recommend it , its been unforgettable”
