“I had a pair of these brambling shoes before and found them comfortable and long lasting, so I didn’t hesitate to replace them online. This new pair is extremely comfortable, they won’t even need breaking in. I wish they were a lighter brown, the espresso colour is almost black, hopefully they will lighten as I polish them. My order arrived quickly and was correct.”

“Bought a really lovely pair of grey suede ankle boots. The were quite expensive but the quality and fit are worth the price. I have purchased Gabor boots before and have never been disappointed.”

“I love Gabor shoes. They are well made and last and the colors are great. The Gabors I purchased were not appropriate for my age which is over 70. On both the shoes and boots, the soles are too large and thick. Unfortunately I returned them.”

“Unfortunately, neither of the pairs of shoes ordered fitted nicely so i returned them - the cost to return them was outrageous...and i would not buy from a site without free returns again.”

Thank you for your review. There is a link on our website to Collect +, this is £4.49 and would cover up to 10 kilos of returns in one package. This would allow you to send several pair of shoes back ifor this low cost. If you wish to send back via Royal Mail, you can send back using a 2nd class package which will keep the cost low, you can then for an extra 80p or so, add tracking so that you can see when they arrive. An expensive next day service is not required as we allow up to one year for unworn items to be returned for refund. You can also take unwanted items back to a Charles Clinkard store if you have one close to you. “Love the shoes but object to paying postage to return the items. I am disabled and can’t get to a shop and feel penalised for ordering online”

Thank you for your review. We do deliver free of charge and ask customers to cover the cost of returns. If an exchange is required, we would again pay the postage cost for the item to be sent to the customer. We do allow up to one year for items to be returned to us so long as they are unworn, so if you have a friend or family member who has one of our shops close to them, they may be able to pop the item into the store for you for refund? I am sorry that you feel penalised, but all customers who wish to return by post are asked to cover the cost of return. Kind regards, Janice - customer services

“This is my second pair of Gabor boots and I love them! Soft leather, perfect sizing, good quality and very comfortable, not the cheapest but I'm prepared to pay for the comfort and quality.”

“Love your web site and Gabor shoes But will reluctant to buy again on line as to return shoes That don’t fit is too expensive. To return a pair of shoes tracked by Royal Mail cost over £11.00 Hopefully you can find a way of making returns cheaper Thank You Lorraine”

Thank you for your email. On our website there is a link to Collect+ which is £4.49 for up to 10 kilo of returns. Alternatively you can return to any Chalrles Clinkard store. You can use Royal Mail 2nd class and then pay about 80p on top for tracking. This would total aproximately £3.50 to return, it seems as though you have been charged for a next day service. “Beautiful boots, very comfortable. The only reason l withheld a star is that they come up very large; l was aware of this so ordered a size down, but they are still too big. I couldn’t be bothered to return and re-order, so l kept them, but I’ll have to pack them with thick inner soles, which is a shame.”

“Shocking customer service. I bought a pair of sandals from House of Bruar. The strap on one broke after wearing four times. Other customers complained on line of the same problem. I returned the faulty sandal for inspection. I was told that they would require both sandals as their strategy would have been to mend them. I wanted perfect shoes, not mended ones, after wearing so few times I Gabor told me they would not accept a photo of the broken sandal and wanted the shoe sent to HoB. Of course HoB had disposed of it. Rude and abrupt customer service and I'm £85 short. Disgraceful and won't be buying Gabor showes afgainthen contacted Gabor and dispos”

“Purchased this type of knee high boots approx 5 years ago. Wanted to update, and chose these as very similar, but turned out not as roomy around the calf, as the ones purchased previously. Had to return for a refund. Possibly you could make the calf measurements clearer.”
