“Product I purchased was excellent. Unfortunately the wrong parcel was delivered. I accept that the odd error can occur. Friars were easy to contact and within hours dispatched correct item with the quickest delivery method and we got correct product next day. Good customer service and I will certainly deal with them again with confidence.”

“These are by far the best quality and depth of chocolate, with genuine rose and violet flavours . So much so this year I bought a box as a present and one just for myself .However -my box was very disappointing as many of the crystallised violets and roses were non existent and no evidence of them having crumbled off in the casing . The other gift box was perfect and neither looked damaged from the outside”

“Friars chocolates are very good quality and packaged well. The most recent ones I ordered were the ginger assortment. They were very nice but some were not very gingery.”

“The chocolates look beautiful, but it would have helped if they had a guide to the fillings and we had to stop one of the family eating them in case their were nuts. Such a shame”

“I found the Friars website easy to use and the delivery of my purchases was very good but as I had ordered my chocolates for Christmas I have not yet tried them. For the time being I cannot give a full 5 star rating.”

“Lovely, gorgeous chocolate penguins, but slightly let down by dull plastic packaging. I got these as gifts so I then had to go round the shops looking for pretty boxes that fitted.”

“OK! Chocolate is great but has a hard outer shell now. 🤔 But it's not great as the original because some one has decided to skimp on the rum and change the sweet shape. Please go back to the ball shape encased with the dark chocolate vermicelli. To me the rum has to have a more pronounced flavour than the actual chocolate. If you want a comparison try the Hotel Chocolate version for the rum taste. Don't get me wrong this is an excellent sweet it's just the dark chocolate is bit to sharp a taste for the rum flavour to come through.”

“I had good service, but disappointed at the increase in price which seems substantial. I previously paid around £1.10 per tin, this time it was £1.66 per tin, which is an increase of around 50% . I know prices have gone up, but not to that extent?”

“These were bought as Xmas gifts and I also bought 1 flavour pack of 6 to test myself. I normally buy from Hotel Chocolat. How did the 2 compare? (only based on 1 flavour - plain choc blackcurrant alcoholic Kir Royale so might not be fair) The chocs had good size, gloss and snap and an original but not strong flavour. I didnt get much sense of alcohol and the fondant was not as runny as it might have been. I was disappointed that the dates on the boxes were not as long as they could have been given that these are Xmas gifts. Not everyone eats chocs as fast as I do!! The price is quite high. Hotel Choc have just increased their prices to the same levels but at least HC give discount codes and promotions galore to stimulate business. I think Friars although long-established, will struggle to compete in this market unless they give similar deals”
