extremely expensive for what they are Bought for a gift and thought they looked so paltry although they were £15 and with addtiion of delivery charge best part of twenty pounds I could have bought an ordinairy box of belgian chocolates from the local supermarket which were just as attractive if not more so than these for£6 and feel that this company are just exploiting vegan people Would not buyfrom again or recommend to anyone else

On reading the reviews I am definitely in the minority. Nice chocolate but I found the flavours really weak, the Cointreau had no taste at all and the lemon cheesecake just tasted of white chocolate, not a hint of lemon. If I buy a chocolate with a specific filling, then I want to taste that filling. Really disappointed but like I say I seem to be in the minority.

received wrong chocolates and then had to wait for delivery of my order by this time my neices birthday had gone in which case the delivery after that was useless, i wanted to return them but didnt in the end. the chocolates had liquid coming out of them and made everything sticky, not packaged correctly and i wouldnt recommend buying these chocolates

These boozy chocolates were not very boozy at all. We were given some boozy chocolates at Xmas from Aldi and there was no comparison. Will not be purchasing again.

I was very disappointed with the number of additives (E numbers) added to the ingredients. Some of these have potentially nasty side effects. My sister would not touch them. As compared to Hotel Chocolat which has hardly any unnatural ingredients.

I was very disappointed when i opened the package to find so many squashed pieces, liquid ouzing out, seeping through the box.

I have used Friars on several occasions, always as a gift for someone else. Their chocolates are superb and normally, so, too, is the service. On this occasion, something went badly wrong. I ordered on a Tuesday, early enough for despatch the same day according to the Friars website. I also paid a premium for next working day delivery. The chocolates arrived finally at their intended destination on Friday. Not an acceptable level of Service.

Unfortunately the Royal Mail tracking system wasn't working for a couple of days in the week your order was sent and although we were told it wouldn't affect deliveries it unfortunately did. Firstly I didn't want to spend so much on a bar of chocolate, however being Friars & Captain Morgan partnership I thought it must be something special. How WRONG i was . Nice liquor inside, but chocolate was grainy at times and looked cheaply produced as chocolate was thin and unappealing. packaging was the best looking thing about it and probably most of the cost went there. Once opened very Disappointing and certainly not worth the money. such a shame as Friars could have done so much better.

We buy it in from a company called Goldkenn, a swiss chocolate company who are partnered with Captain Morgan. It is a very popular product but unfortuantely cannot be to everyones taste. I bought 2 items as a gift and paid for next day delivery. The parcel arrived 3 days late and it looked like the box had been sat on. One of the two boxes of chocolates was smashed and the interior of the parcel covered in liquer. The postal delay was not Friars fault but the shockingly inadequate packaging was. I received a refund for the postage and the box of smashed chocolates.

My recent purchase of boozy chocolates were disappointing, they were dry, with white deposits on them and didn't taste boozy but musty.

I have already written a review so it’s annoying to receive another email asking for a review. I was not happy with my purchase as I specifically needed sugared almonds of the original pale pastel colours. This is what was depicted on your website but the colours were very different when they arrived. This was very disappointing and I wasn’t able to use them for my original intention

Hi Claire, We are sorry that you are annoyed that you have been asked for another review. Two requests are sent as one is for the product purchased and the other for the service you received. With regard to the sugared almonds, unfortunately it is difficult to find the pastel coloured ones which is why we have the brighter colours. Although we do state that the colour of the almonds may change in the product listing, we doneed to re-photograph the box of almonds to reflect this. Kind Regards, Friars Customer Service

Delivered the wrong item. This matter was actually dealt with very well, but if the recipient had not opened it she would have been very disappointed on Christmas Day. This lady lives on her own.

Generally, no problem with the service. However, I did order what I thought were vegan chocolate oranges and they were not vegan. It's partly my fault for not reading more thoroughly, but I searched for vegan items and these were provided as a search result. I've attached an image. So I'll share the blame, but I think it's really poor for this merchant to have this misleading advert available online. I did inform them last week, but the advert remains in place. The advert is 'Friars - Vegan - Milk Chocolate Satsumas', which I read as ... Well as Vegan milk chocolate. It was only when tasting the product that I realised I'd eaten a dairy product for the first time in several years.
