Dear Guy, We do offer a free returns service if you're ever unhappy with any of our products. I believe you purchased a handmade wood rustic trug by Burgon and Ball. The poplar wood has been sustainably sourced and has retained its natural grain for a country cottage style. As it's handmade from sustainable poplar wood, the £33 price tag is fair but as mentioned above, happy to refund or exchange the item. Kind regards, Jude

“Delivery was quick and the personalised engraving was very good however I was very disappointed with the rough feel of the box. I did not expect this . There was a large splinter of wood sticking out which could have caused a painful injury”

“Although the recipient of the port eventually received his gift and was delighted with it. I had to chase express delivery after a fortnight. Apparently, I had been sent two e mails asking for ID of my age before delivery could be processed. I received no such e mails which had gone to junk mail as my computer thought they were a scam. It was eventually resolved when I rang. if ID is required this should be mentioned on order.”

Thank you for your review, it was unfortunate that our emails went into your spam folder. We do also send a text message and follow up with a phone call in order to avoid any delay. However, it's not legal for us to sell alcohol without verifying the age of the person purchasing. It's normally automatically done but occasionally if an incorrect date of birth is entered or you're new to your address then we may need to contact you directly. We do say on our website: 'Over 18 only. Your order will be subject to age verification, please enter your date of birth in the billing screen.' but understandably when shopping sometimes these things are missed. “Was really disappointed with my purchase. The description was walnut style wood so I was expecting the item to be wood (not walnut, but wood) however the item was really cheap laminate. The pictures were misleading also. Other than that the item arrived fast no complaints about service”

We try so hard to accurately describe our items and the 'Walnut style wood backgammon set' is actually made of wood with a 'smooth printed playing board' which is the laminate you describe. There are wood inlaid backgammon sets available but these do start at a higher price. “Unfortunately I found the product quality (a wooden chess set) to be below expectations for the price charged. The wood around the base did not match the wood on the chess board and made the set look cheap. Additionally, I ordered and engraving plate but it was affixed with only double sided tap and did not stay on the set. Needless to say I returned the item and I can report that the return process was extremely simple and easy.”

“I was really disappointed in the packaging used, the box was too small for the kneeling pad that I ordered and it was bent up at the end and squashed into the box. Such a shame as the product itself was lovely quality, but has been mis shapen due to poor care taken when packing.”

“I'm not really able to respond, I've still haven't had my purchase although I paid for it quite some time ago. More precisely, my original order did arrive quite promptly. I was a little disappointed with it straight out of the box because it didn't look or feel like a quality item. In addition it was marked. Sending it back was no problem and they are good at getting back to you, but I'm still waiting for the replacement despite a polite reminder. My advice would be if you're of that generation that is prepared to spend a bit more to buy an item once take a very good look at the product that interests you and don't need to get it replaced in good time.”

“I placed my order on Thursday 16th April and had a dispatch confirmation on Saturday 18th April, today is Sunday 26th April and i still haven't received my order, this is not acceptable even in the current circumstances.”

“I had paid £135 for it! I thought it would have been a larger size Ie equivalent to the one we had as children and that it would be high end quality. No it wasn’t and when I looked on Amazon I could have bought it for approx £45.”

“Very pleased with item I bought. Promptly dispatched despite having engraving on the wooden box. Disappointed that box had sellotape on, however, which has now left a sticky mess. Hoping it will come off without leaving a mark, as it is a present.Might be worth noting so others don’t have same problem.”
