Absolute rip off. Purchased a hip flask believing that I was purchasing a Pinder Brothers quality product, as the description lead me to believe. Only after payment sent did I come to realise the item was not made by Pinder Brothers, and infact was not even made in Sheffield, but was a generic piece made in China, being sold at double the price. Disgusting, misleading service. Also so called 'engraving' is actually stamped on, so even more of a rip off. Would have returned but as purchased for a birthday I had no choice but to keep. Will be my first and final purchase from Farrer and Tanner. I would urge future customers to tread with caution, and check ebay for the same items at half the price.

This is made of printed veneer, not hand crafted walnut. It looks smart if your eyesight isn’t too hot. It’s a lovely chess board but not worth the money.

The bbq apron I bought looked different when received than what it looked like online. The online version looked more durable and thicker than the apron received. I got the apron customized with a name but the font was so small and there was hardly any contrast from the color of the leather apron so it is barely visible. I paid $270 CDN for this and do not think it is worth the money. Hugely disappointed.

Unfortunately you were not able to supply the ordered item. Because of the delay in advising me that you could not supply I had to accept a substitute item, not the Barbour belt I had wished to purchase. The rating does not relate to the quality of the item shown above

Not as expected, your advertised Oak turns out to be mdf and the cheap hinges and catches do not fold away when playing and are a constant hazard to clothing. Will advise my peers to avoid your company like a plague. Jeff P.

Good afternoon, I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment. I cannot see any correspondence from yourself regarding any issues with the order, have you contacted us regarding this? The board you purchased is described as 'printed' in the first line of the description so I apologise if you missed that. We do like to make it clear whether the boards are printed or inlaid with real wood so it will always be described as appropriate in the description. The clasps should close as normal and the hinges should not be an issue so I'm very sorry about this - please do return that to us and we can either issue a full refund or get a replacement sorted for you. I placed an order with this 'company' 11 days later I still havnt received it even though they say order before 2 for some day dispatch, I have no order confirmation emails, con merchants it seems, I filled in a contact form on the website , when I completed it it didn't go through asking to try later, they have kept my money, DO NOT BUT FROM THEM, PROBABLY A FAKE WEBSITE, IM CONTACTING TRADING STANDARDS.

My product was delivered broken! I bought a whiskey decanter (glass) and the package had little to none protection against shocks. Instead of a decanter, I received broken pieces of glass. The experience was very frustrating, as this was supposed to be a birthday present.

Very Shoddy service - presentation box badly damaged. Contents sound. I just wanted the presentation box changed as it’s a wedding present. Emailed twice - still no response after three days.

Very bad service, cannot reach anyone through telephone contact. Chased so many times via emails finally received an email saying my order got lost in transit. Never received the item before Christmas, hence had to cancel the order.

Poor customer service. Tried to contact by phone and there was just a message saying no one was available due to staff shortages. Sent email headed “urgent” as directed by message and still await a reply. Would not use this company again based on customer service.

Item has still not been passed to the Royal Mail a week after I placed my order. It's obviously a Christmas present and yet no attempt has been made to get the item to me quickly. My message to customer service has so far been ignored.

I am amazed to receive this from you when I have been advised that part of an order from you will not be available when this was ordered a while ago and although I admit I made a mistake on the spelling of the name, I corrected this as soon as I read the email and I have now been advised the item is not now available! I am disabled and cannot get to shops and use the internet to get presents. This particular one was for my husband who will now only get part of the present. I have used you previously and have always been delighted - what has happened to your service an I will now have to try and get a replacement else where. Susan Jessop

I ordered custom champagne flutes for my son's wedding. They never arrived even though we received notification that the package was ready to be picked up at the location that their shipper left it at. We tried contacting the courrier that the shipper sub-contracted this out to. We contacted the shipper who told us there was nothing they could do as the package was lost. I tried SEVERAL times to contact the store itself and all I ever received was an "I am so sorry for the inconvenience, we will look into it", yet no one from the store has ever gotten back to me. I am very disappointed that these glasses (even if they ship another set out) will not arrive in time for my son's wedding because it has taken them so long. Really poor customer service
