I placed an order, but after a week, it still hadn’t been delivered. I had to follow up and resolve the issue myself. Farrar & Tanner may claim it wasn’t their fault, blaming shipping delays and stating they resent the item. However, who’s at fault doesn’t matter to me—despite resending it, the order ultimately missed the intended date. Unfortunately, the recipient left the UK for Christmas holidays before receiving it.

I ordered and paid for two pairs of Darlington Celebrate Ruby Copa Gin & Tonic 2x455 DKK. Now the parcel arrived but only contains one pair - for … sake, it is a Christmas present 😱

Not the best experience.... ordered an item online, and to be engraved. Arrived the next day, not engraved and the item was not the same as the picture online. Ordered another item as a replacement, as I needed quickly, without waiting for a return and refund etc. New item arrived next day, and was correct. So, I started the return process for the wrong item, have sent the item back using their tracked Royal Mail service a week ago, and heard nothing. Chased for an update on my refund and I keep being told to provide the RM tracking number, which I don't have. Clearly they have the tracking number as they generated the returns label from their system and emailed me the dynamic link to generate the label to print (hence I can't now re-generate the label to get the tracking number). Basically, they can't confirm if they have my return, and won't refund without me proving they have it. Needless to say I won't be ordering from them again.

Regarding your return, while we provide return labels via Royal Mail, they are generated through their platform, which means we don’t have access to the tracking details. This is why we kindly ask for proof of postage. Providing this helps us issue your refund much faster—typically within a few days—rather than waiting the standard two weeks due to the Christmas backlog in returns. We can only process refunds once we confirm that the item is on its way back to us. Without proof of postage, there’s a risk the item may not be returned, which could delay or prevent your refund, as explained on the email from our customer service team. If you have posted the item back to us, then you will of course receive a full refund. We have only asked for you to provide the proof of postage so that we can process the refund faster for you, without it, it can take up to 2 weeks to be processed due to the high volume of returns. I had 5 items delivered to my address totalling nearly £500 this was not my order so got in touch with customer services, who then got a company to collect items, so as a good will gesture for my honesty I got a gift voucher totalling £25 with a code attached... as I use this company a lot I tried the voucher against my next purchase... which was not recognised, I have tried it on several other occasions which was declined, so is there an answer or dose it pay to be honest?

The handles are painted Matt black and flakes off. The knives look cheap now, totally not worth purchasing!

The handles are very thin black plastic held on by adhesive and in no time started peeling off. Despite taking care of the knives, the blades started to rust in no time at all. Wish I had returned them straight away. Don’t bother.

Still no sign of the delivery, sent multiple emails but no response for 3 days. Disappointing given I paid for next day delivery 10 days ago. Only postage has been refunded

Absolute rip off. Purchased a hip flask believing that I was purchasing a Pinder Brothers quality product, as the description lead me to believe. Only after payment sent did I come to realise the item was not made by Pinder Brothers, and infact was not even made in Sheffield, but was a generic piece made in China, being sold at double the price. Disgusting, misleading service. Also so called 'engraving' is actually stamped on, so even more of a rip off. Would have returned but as purchased for a birthday I had no choice but to keep. Will be my first and final purchase from Farrer and Tanner. I would urge future customers to tread with caution, and check ebay for the same items at half the price.

This is made of printed veneer, not hand crafted walnut. It looks smart if your eyesight isn’t too hot. It’s a lovely chess board but not worth the money.

The bbq apron I bought looked different when received than what it looked like online. The online version looked more durable and thicker than the apron received. I got the apron customized with a name but the font was so small and there was hardly any contrast from the color of the leather apron so it is barely visible. I paid $270 CDN for this and do not think it is worth the money. Hugely disappointed.

Unfortunately you were not able to supply the ordered item. Because of the delay in advising me that you could not supply I had to accept a substitute item, not the Barbour belt I had wished to purchase. The rating does not relate to the quality of the item shown above

Not as expected, your advertised Oak turns out to be mdf and the cheap hinges and catches do not fold away when playing and are a constant hazard to clothing. Will advise my peers to avoid your company like a plague. Jeff P.

Good afternoon, I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment. I cannot see any correspondence from yourself regarding any issues with the order, have you contacted us regarding this? The board you purchased is described as 'printed' in the first line of the description so I apologise if you missed that. We do like to make it clear whether the boards are printed or inlaid with real wood so it will always be described as appropriate in the description. The clasps should close as normal and the hinges should not be an issue so I'm very sorry about this - please do return that to us and we can either issue a full refund or get a replacement sorted for you. I placed an order with this 'company' 11 days later I still havnt received it even though they say order before 2 for some day dispatch, I have no order confirmation emails, con merchants it seems, I filled in a contact form on the website , when I completed it it didn't go through asking to try later, they have kept my money, DO NOT BUT FROM THEM, PROBABLY A FAKE WEBSITE, IM CONTACTING TRADING STANDARDS.

My product was delivered broken! I bought a whiskey decanter (glass) and the package had little to none protection against shocks. Instead of a decanter, I received broken pieces of glass. The experience was very frustrating, as this was supposed to be a birthday present.

Very Shoddy service - presentation box badly damaged. Contents sound. I just wanted the presentation box changed as it’s a wedding present. Emailed twice - still no response after three days.

Very bad service, cannot reach anyone through telephone contact. Chased so many times via emails finally received an email saying my order got lost in transit. Never received the item before Christmas, hence had to cancel the order.
