Purchased travel insurance with you for our first holiday which was great, I’ve just come off the phone to a representative of your company as wanted to do an couples annual but the guy I was speaking to was not great, he talks way to quick and didn’t explain anything, he presumed we were married as didn’t ask my partners name…

The way to review a company is how they deal with a problem. My wife fell over and broke her shoulder whilst on holiday. Upon return we filled out two forms, one for medical expenses and one for curtailment. I rang CSA and asked if the excess was for one event or two and was told categorically that this was a single event and therefore there was one excess payment. The two completed forms were posted to CSA together with all receipts and a cheque for £75. The following then occurred: 1. CSA contacted us to request receipts and asked if we were assuming a copy of the cheque would be used for payment 2. We sent CSA copies of the receipts (fortunately we had copied them) and confirmed that we had sent the original copies of the receipts and the cheque along with the forms. 3. CSA contacted us and confirmed that a payment was being made and they would send us a breakdown. They also confirmed that they had lost our cheque but under the circumstances they would deduct excess from the payment. 4. Payment was made but no breakdown was received. 5. We contacted CSA and asked for a breakdown. 6. The breakdown was received which showed that 3 lots of excess had been deducted. 7. We contacted CSA and was informed Sarah would ring us back by 23 January 2025 latest. 8. Sarah failed to contact us by the due date. 9. We rang CSA and were told Sarah would ring us within 7 working days which she did this morning 30 January 25. 10. We explained that we were told that as this was effectively one event there was just one excess payment required. We were told that this was incorrect and excess payment had to be paid on the medical expenses claim and for each passenger on the curtailment claim. We explained that we had sent a cheque for £75 as this is what we told was require. Sarah said the cheque had arrived too late. We told her that the cheque was sent with the forms and we were told that CSA had lost it. I trust that this explains why you only get a single star on our review. Tony Pleasance

Sent us to 4 different hospitals with a sick child who was deteriorating, spent 6 hours driving and in waiting rooms. Turned away by all of them and the company still were unable to offer medical care. Ended up paying privately oursevles with the assurance it would be refunded, then the claim was denied. 6 months later and despite complaints the costs have never been covered. Avoid at all costs!

Delayed baggage over 24hours , unfortunately being in rural Zimbabwe the local market didn’t take cards so everything I had to buy was cash! Also had to pay $30 for taxi to pick up the luggage from the airport the next day and bring it back to the hotel! Claim rejected without receipts and taxi fare rejected with a receipt. My friends insurance paid her £50! At least it was something ! I need to start reading the fine print in tiny letters as insurance wasn’t what it used to be !!

I don't need 7+ emails for travel insurance. I need 1 with policy details and relevant contact info. Stop spamming your customers with useless emails

We had purchased motorhome broken into and multiple items stolen. This insurance company have been very unhelpful and, obviously, nothing is covered. Won't be using again.

Glad had this insurance for single trip only cause 'small print' excludes a lot. My claim for baggage lost was declined as insurance doesn't cover returning flight 🙃 god knows why would they make such unique rules. Will not recommend to anyone!

Our flight was cancelled for 24 hours and I have tried to make a claim but your claim system is so complicated to use so I have given up trying to make a claim. I will never use your company again or recommend it to anyone.

The usual insurance company policy of trying to get out of paying their claims or at least finding every little exclusion possible

I had to be kept in Hospital for 3 nights and I had to pay a Thai Bill off over £1400 by credit card as the Bangkok Hospital said that Explorer was not on their accredit list. So I had to pay by credit card. I collected all the paper work from the hospital to claim it back. That was now over a month I have sent in my claim form and all relevant paper work by email , I have only a reply saying thank you for your claim , yesterday I sent an email asking for an update but as from today no reply yet . I hope this will get some action

I get endless nonsense emails about absolutely nothing from this insurer. Then I need to make a small claim for being delayed for over 32hrs, it takes weeks to hear from them with no confirmation of recipes of my claim, no case number to track so you no it’s being looked at. And then out of the blue they email you cause they’ve found some clause not to pay due to the reason the airline was delayed. Do not use this insurer - what’s the point if they aren’t there to help you when things go bad - may as well have not had insurance and would have at least saved £50

Needed to make small claim but batted off to a third party claim company who did not respond to my emails. Eventually spoke to someone at your office who immediately batted me off again to claims company who are apparently too busy to answer the phone. I had one simple question but cannot find anyone who can answer it or pick up the phone!!

We have tried to make a claim, after an accident, through the online platform and have not received any confirmation that the claim has been received or heard back from anybody. We submitted the claim on 25th August 2022.

I’ve made a claim for a broken iPad screen 4 weeks ago and I still haven’t received any reply back. Not worth taking out with this company as you will be waiting like I am if you need to claim. I paid extra for Gadget insurance, to which I then find out if through a different company. These have just completely ignored me since.

We got covid and have had to claim for our holiday, we can’t get hold of anyone, sent our claim 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing back. When buying it they were very helpful on the phone. If they could be as helpful with the claim I would appreciate it
