Wouldn't even give one star, by far the worst travel insurancer, the team seem uneducated in there field therefore extremely unhelpful. Bitterly disappointed with the service.

Booked a holiday to Israel with family and missed our connecting flight. No further flight for 48 hrs so decided to reyurn home. Thought insurance would cover the lose of nearly 4000 pounds. Insurance claims company refused to pay any compensation after awaiting 8 weeks for decision.

I had to make a claim for holiday cancellation due to my Wife's sudden death due to fatal heart attack on the 10th april 2019. I am still waiting for a resolution to my claim ( 16th June 2019 ) I find this delay totally unacceptable at this very sad time for me.

called 'emergency line' for son ill in Peru and waited 35 minutes with no reply. Could not speak to them. If my son had been able to make this call he would have been charged at international rates and disconnected every few minutes. I wonder if they pay for a necessary hospital stay with a serious respiratory condition.

I had a blood test which meant I had to cancel my plane costing £200. I understand your policy did not cover this. Unfortunately I will not use you in future and find protection from a holiday insurance from a company I can rely on.

The price was O K. But when I came to make a (medical) claim and sent all the supporting documents they lost them, even when sent registered post. I am still arguing.

Wish I didn't have to go through the medical questionnaire every time if there are no changes!

Thought this was excellent value for money until I tried to claim. Got medical expenses and new ticket to fly home but not heard one word about expenses that I had to pay out for the extra 12 days I had to remain in Aus. Dogs food transport etc. I would have rated this totally different if I had received this when phoning up re this several people informed me they would get right onto it still waiting ann morris

My expensive electric wheelchair was damaged beyond repair on a flight from Australia and today I have been told that it is NOT covered by the policy. Surely as an essential part of my luggage any reputable travel insurance should cover it against loss or damage. Anyway, I have just issued a court claim. Let's see what the law has to say on the matter.

I purchased my travel insurance as soon as i booked my holiday which was over 6 months prior to my departure. I declared all previous medical conditions. A month before my departure i was referred to hospital for a scan which was unrelated to the previous medical conditions declared. I phoned the company to tell them only to be told they would not insure me for anything related to this scan. Surely this is the reason you take travel insurance out - to cover you for unforeseen problems. It ruined my holiday to Asia knowing that I was not covered. Why did I bother to take out insurance? My policy was a waste of my money, Do NOT buy from this company!

Renewed my annual travel policy with Explorer Travel Insurance and all goes well, they take my money a month prior to the policy renewal date (should have started to smell the coffee!) 2 days prior to it starting updated a pre-existing condition on the phone. When you try to claim, they direct you use a claims firm that handles this for them and this firm avoids the facts and seems to prioritise NOT PAYING OUT. Will be going to the Ombudsman if they persist. My advice is avoid them, you only really know how good they are when you try to claim. I cant imagine the problems if you fell seriously ill in another country and you have to deal with their third party. They could even get my name right!

Went on a holiday cruise taking out Platinum Cover (Highest). British Airways lost our luggage which eventually caught us up 3 days later after a lot of leg work. 3 days without prescribed medication left me in a pretty bad state for the rest of the holiday. After speaking to there EXTERNAL insurance claims I was advised that I can claim £50 a day for my baggage, and that's all for a holiday experience that was totally ruined. I called Explorer Travel Insurance again asking them to clarify on the poor level of cover for the Platinum level policy, they advised they have no connection with claims and how they assess cases, and that I would need to take this up with claims who do not appear to be affiliated with Explorer Travel Insurance. "They're happy to sell top level of cover but when things go wrong they will not provide the compensation expected for level of cover", as i was told by the sales agent there are exceptions to every statement of cover in the policy!
