Explorer Travel Insurance has been trading since 2011 and specialises in great value Single Trip, Annual Multi Trip, Winter Sports, Cruise and Backpacker travel insurance.

Buy direct and choose from up to 5 levels of cover with the added peace of mind that all policies are underwritten by Allianz (the world's largest insurer) and include gadget and cruise cover as standard.

We are based in Westcliff on Sea, Essex and are very proud of the excellent levels of service we provide to our customers both online and by our friendly and professional sales advisors. We don't have a maximum age limit for single trip policies and can offer cover for customers with, or without, pre-existing medical conditions.

“I had two phone conversations with the first adviser, & was disappointed with the outcome. She spoke very rapidly and did not reference any ‘previous customer’ benefit. I was tempted to get cover from another provider but felt the Explorer insurance was comprehensive & didn’t relish going through the whole procedure again with a new insurer. I made a third phone call to clarify some info & spoke with a different adviser- this was a much better experience - she took her time, acknowledged l was a previous customer & she ‘saved the day’ as far as I was concerned & I renewed the insurance, but the first adviser nearly lost our custom - perhaps some training would help.”

“Got good deal for 12 day cruise to the Persian gulf for Jan 2020 so inquired about a 8 day cruise around the Mediterranean and got a quote twice the cost of the Persian one so not very consistent”

“I have been using explorer insurance for more than ten years now and have been very pleased with both the service and the premium. As a cancer survivor it is nice to know I can still find affordable insurance. In fact my condition is now noted but no extra premium is added! The only reason I haven’t given five stars is that I, fortunately, have never needed to claim!”

“Used Explorer for a number of years. Online system is easy to use and instant quotes. Purchasing is as efficient. Not had to claim so can’t comment on the process of doing so. Will continue to use Explorer when required again.”

“Would help if just the front page of the main policy document contained details of the cover and the contact details to use in case of an emergency. Having to take 4 or 5 pages of the full document with you when you travel is not ideal.”
