Explorer Travel Insurance has been trading since 2011 and specialises in great value Single Trip, Annual Multi Trip, Winter Sports, Cruise and Backpacker travel insurance.

Buy direct and choose from up to 5 levels of cover with the added peace of mind that all policies are underwritten by Allianz (the world's largest insurer) and include gadget and cruise cover as standard.

We are based in Westcliff on Sea, Essex and are very proud of the excellent levels of service we provide to our customers both online and by our friendly and professional sales advisors. We don't have a maximum age limit for single trip policies and can offer cover for customers with, or without, pre-existing medical conditions.

“good prices good service no complaints but as never had to use them it is difficult to say”

“My expeience in renewing our travel insurance was good: the process was quick and the person top whom I spoke was friendly and helpful. A check suggested that the price was very reasonable. Since I have not yet had to claim on the insurance (and I hope that this happy state continues), I cannot speak on how good the actual insurance is.”

“Easy to arrange cover on line. Documents arrived promptly by e-mail. Fair cost. Have had cover several times with Explorer but have never needed to make a claim so cannot comment on their claims handling.”

“This is 4th year with Explorer, easy to set up and friendly staff, just a bit disappointed as I've paid the fee but STILL not received the paper work, yes I've finally got the policy by e-mail but I'm going on holiday 22 Dec and need the paper work”

“Not sure if the stars are working - I tried to give four. I would have given Explorer five 5 except for one thing ..... they usually remind us when renewal is due. This is particularly important when, like us, you buy annual multitrip. This time they did not remind us which produced 2 negative results.. ... 1. We were unaware and actually travelled without insurance! 2. When we realised and re-bought our usual policy, the price had close to doubled. Previous increases had not been so steep so I assume this was because there was a time lapse rather than rolling on therefore keeping any loyalty/no claims bonus. I am unable to comment on other aspects of Explorer's service as we have never made a claim.”

“First time I have used Explorer. Compared to other online options I found their site easy to navigate and the policy documents very clear and concise. Also the quote was very competitive and allowed excess waiver at additional cost.”

“I have used Explorer Travel Insurance for a number of years because they offer compettitive quotes. I cannot comment on how they handle claims as I have been lucky enough to not need to. A good online service when purchasing insurance. Look out for occasional 5% and 10% offers.”

“The Explorer quote process was relatively straightforward & fairly quick to complete, including the medical conditions section. Explorer was marginally cheaper than equivalent policies with other travel insurers specialising in medical condition cover. However, all such cover is expensive, particularly where medical conditions are relatively minor and not travel, nor activity, limiting.”

“I always find entering medical details a pain but this seems to be an industry standard process so that is not really Explorer's fault. After that easy enough, competitive price for the cover and region, understandable documentation and clear policy feature comparison information.”

“Whilst not the most competitive, we had used Explorer for the previous years travel insurance and due to the death of my wife,s mother we had to cancel a planned holiday. Explorer handled the situation efficiently and we were able to rebook our holiday later in the year. So we thought it reasonable to use Explorer for next years travelling. I thought some of the Health Condition questions were a little to ambiguous/limiting with regards to planned future treatment.”
