Total scam: First $30, then asking for additional $50, then asking for more money for premium service

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling dissatisfied with the process. I can assure you that the charges you've encountered are part of our structured unlocking service. Initially, the Eligibility Check is required to determine whether your phone can be unlocked using our standard service; this is the payment you referred to. If your phone meets the network criteria, the Unlocking Payment comes into play. For iPhones in particular, some may require a Premium Service if the standard service fails or is not available. These steps are outlined on our checkout page before any purchase is made, to help our customers make informed decisions. I understand this can be frustrating, but I would encourage you to continue with the process so we can successfully unlock your phone. Your order status is key in this scenario—if it shows you are awaiting payment, completing it should allow us to proceed with unlocking your device. If you have any more questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Live Support through your tracking page so we can assist you further. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Best regards, Charlotte

I paid to have this iPad unlocked for the advertised price of $49.99. I read all the fine print and nowhere did it say that there would be another $50 charge. This seems to be clickbait and false advertising. If it was clearly stated that there would be an additional $50 charge after confirming the eligibility of unlocking the iPad, then I would not be concerned, and I would have continued with the process. Hiding the additional $50 charge until after I paid $49.99 is unethical and gives me pause to continue. I will be disputing the charges with my credit card company.

Hello, I completely understand your concerns about the costs associated with unlocking your Apple iPad. I would like to clarify that there's an initial payment for the Eligibility Check, followed by an Unlocking Payment, should your device meet the required criteria for unlocking. All costs are indeed outlined on our checkout page before purchase. As mentioned, the website follows a two-step process for unlocking services: firstly, an Eligibility Check is carried out to ensure your device can be unlocked, and this is what your initial payment of $49.99 was for, although it has been refunded. If your device passes this check, an additional cost for the actual unlocking service is incurred. I completely respect your decision to dispute the charges if you feel the service was not as expected; however, please be aware that our goal is to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction. If you decide to go through with the unlocking process in the future or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out. Best regards, Charlotte

Hello there, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. I’m genuinely sorry to hear that your experience hasn't been as smooth as we strive for it to be. I understand receiving a credit note instead of a direct unlock can be frustrating, especially after the anticipation of having your device unlocked. I’d love to address any specific concerns you have and assist you in completing the unlocking process, as our goal is to provide a positive experience. To dive into the details, I would need the IMEI of the device you’re referring to, as this is crucial in locating your order and effectively assisting you. In the absence of this information, it's challenging for us to address the specific issues. I would strongly encourage you to reach out to our Live Support through your tracking page so we can take a closer look at your case and find the best possible solution within our policies. Remember, our unlocking service begins immediately upon payment and the costs involved are explained clearly during the checkout process, including the eligibility check followed by the unlocking payment for your phone. If your status is awaiting payment, continuing with the process is usually the next step towards unlocking your device. Our team is here to guide you through and provide support whenever you need it. Thank you for your patience, and I hope we can turn this experience around for you. Best regards, Charlotte

Totally negative experience. They ensure a service at a fairly low cost. Too bad that the surprise is around the corner: halfway through the job they ask for another large expense because according to them the first phase should ensure the possibility of unlocking the phone. Once it is established that it is feasible and the next step has been paid, they ask you to wait for the definitive unlocking. Final response after 48 hours? the terminal cannot be unlocked. So what were the initial checks for? No refund, just a "credit note" that I personally will never use because I don't usually buy network-locked terminals (this cell phone was a gift from a friend). Non-existent assistance, every time they tell a lot of lies. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE AND THIS SERVICE. 1000% AWFUL Esperienza totalmente negativa.

Hello Guglielmo, I'm truly sorry to hear about your negative experience with the service provided. We aim to offer a seamless and straightforward unlocking process, and it seems we've fallen short of that goal with your order. I understand your disappointment with the order resulting in your CAT S22 Flip being classified as "Hard-Locked" and that you're not satisfied with the credit note issued. As per our policy, hard-locked phones are challenging cases and, unfortunately, are not eligible for refunds as outlined in the conditions. However, the credit note is intended to offer some recourse and can be used for future services, should you or someone you know require them. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to improve our services. Although I can't process a refund, I’d like to help resolve this issue to your satisfaction. If you have any further concerns or there's anything else we can assist you with, please don't hesitate to let us know. Best regards, Charlotte

Hello Calvin Shaff, Thank you for reaching out and I'm truly sorry to hear about your frustration. I would like to assure you that transparency is very important to us, and all charges are outlined during the checkout process. For your Galaxy Z Flip 3, initially, an Eligibility Check for $28.99 was required, which you have completed. This was followed by the $50 Standard Unlock service. Because your phone does not prompt for an unlocking code, the next step is a Remote USB Unlock, which is indicated by your current order status awaiting payment for this additional service. We understand that the unlocking process can be confusing and we're here to help. If you'd like to continue with the Remote USB Unlock to achieve the unlock for your phone, we're here to support you through the process. Remember, we're committed to providing a solution for you, without needing to issue a refund. If you have further concerns or need clarification, we are happy to have a detailed look into this for you. Kind regards, Charlotte

Hello, I'm truly sorry to hear that your unlocking process hasn't gone as smoothly as expected. I want to assure you that our intention is to provide a reliable and honest service. From your message, it sounds like the unlocking of your phone required an upgrade to a Premium Service, which can happen in certain complex cases. The initial fee you paid was for the Eligibility Check to confirm if your phone can be unlocked. This process is mentioned in our terms and conditions (section 7.3), stating that "Eligibility Checks are not covered by our money back guarantee." I understand the frustration you must feel regarding the additional cost. I’d like to remind you that we did provide an $80 credit towards the service, which is part of our efforts to assist our customers when unexpected complexities arise. We strive for transparency, hence all costs are outlined on the checkout page prior to purchase, including the two-step process of an Eligibility Check followed by an Unlocking Payment. We value your satisfaction and would love the opportunity to resolve this issue. I encourage you to use the Live Support available through your tracking page. "Directunlocks is a scam. Directunlocks use clever wording to fool users. You will first see a small amount less than $30 on home page with a button unlock now. Then you will be redirected to a page with another clever wording. You will never get your phone unlocked. You just be moved to the next step, where you have to pay more each time"

The website is extremely misleading about what you will pay; they have it big and bold that it's ONLY $28.99 and then hidden in grayed-out fine print that it will be much more. Once you check out, they have you locked into their scam, and you can't get your money back, or they will blacklist your phone. I could buy a new phone for the price they are demanding after you pay the unlock fee. Literal blackmail.

Hello Josiah, I'm truly sorry to hear that you feel misled by the pricing on our website. Our intention is always to be transparent with our customers. The initial payment of $28.99 you made is for the Eligibility Check, which is a necessary step to ensure that your Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G can be unlocked from the AT&T USA network. As mentioned on our website, this Eligibility Check fee is separate from the Unlocking Payment, and all costs are indeed outlined on the checkout page before purchase is finalized. We understand that seeing additional costs can be surprising, but please rest assured that there is no intention to mislead you. Regarding your concern about being unable to unlock your phone without a code — if your phone does not prompt for an unlocking code with a non-AT&T sim card inserted, our Remote USB Unlock service, which comes at an additional fee, can help complete the unlocking process. Our goal is to offer you a solution to unlock your device and we would love to assist you further with the next step of the unlocking process. If you would like to proceed, please don't hesitate to reach out and we'll continue to provide support. If there is any other concern you would like to address, I'm here to help. Best regards, Charlotte

They claim that they can unlock your phone or tablet and then after you pay them, they tell you that once you install an out-of-network card the device has to prompt for the code but only after you paid them twice. Once to check to see if they can unlock it and once to unlock. Then they refuse to refund your payment, run far away from this company. paid $28.88 then asked for another $50. to unlock Will be disputing these charge.

Hello Steven, I'm truly sorry to hear about the frustration you've encountered with our unlocking process. I understand it can be quite confusing, so let's try to clear things up. From your message, it appears you've made an initial payment of $28.99 for the Eligibility Check and a subsequent $50 for the Standard Unlock which has been refunded. It's important to note that the Eligibility Check fee is a prerequisite step to determine if unlocking is possible and is non-refundable as outlined in our terms. Regarding the unlock process, for your Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, it might not prompt for an unlocking code if it's the type of device that requires a different unlocking method. If your device does not ask for an unlock code with a non-Verizon SIM card, then a Remote USB Unlock service, which is additional, would indeed be necessary as per the information provided on our website before purchase. I'm here to support you and ensure you have all the information needed to decide on how to proceed. If you would like assistance with the Remote USB unlock or have any further questions, please let us know, and we'll do our best to assist. Warm regards, Charlotte

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. I understand you're upset about the process and the costs that have been incurred. According to our Refund Policy and terms and conditions, the Eligibility Check fee is a necessary step to ensure that your phone can be unlocked and is non-refundable, as it is a service that has been provided. For the unlocking service, if the initial unlock attempt fails and the service is deemed eligible for a refund, as outlined under "Premium Services which fail," you are entitled to a refund of the payments made toward the Standard and Premium unlock services. The offer of a credit note typically applies to situations that do not meet the refund criteria, like when a device is ineligible for unlocking due to being hard-locked or blacklisted, among others. If the suggested remote USB unlock doesn't work and it is incompatible with your device or is unsuccessful, the policy states under "Remote USB Unlock" that a refund would be provided. To move forward with addressing your specific situation accurately, I would need the IMEI of your device to review your order details. Unfortunately, without this information or an order reference, I cannot provide a tailored update or solution. Please use the Live Support through your tracking page for direct assistance, ensuring you have your IMEI or order reference ready for our team to help you efficiently. Let's work together to resolve this matter to your satisfaction.

Definately a SCAM. This company, in association with Wipelock, will endeavour to relieve you of as much money as possible without any results. Unfortunately I fell for the initial three emails requesting money ($228.33 in total) but when the fourth arrived asking for more it was an obvious SCAM. Coincidentally, after paying via a debit card I received 2 bogus drawings on my bank account and had to cancel the card.

Hello there, I'm really sorry to hear about the difficulties and concerns you've encountered with our service. I understand how frustrating it can be to have unexpected costs and it’s never our intention to make anyone feel misled. I want to assure you that we strive to be transparent with our payment structure, which requires an Eligibility Check followed by an Unlocking Payment, as outlined at checkout. I want to work with you to address any issues you’re facing and to improve your experience. Your concerns about multiple payments are understandable, and I'd like to clarify that we only charge for the services as described during the purchase process. If your status is awaiting payment, it may indicate that we're ready to go ahead with the unlock process pending the final payment. If you've experienced unauthorized transactions on your bank account, this is a serious matter that we would advise you to have investigated by your bank, as we take the security of your payment information very seriously. Please do share your IMEI or order number with our Live Support team on your tracking page, so we can look into this matter thoroughly and provide you with the specific assistance you require. These are scammers! Be careful!! First they ask you to pay £24 to unlock it, then they write to you “you need to pay another £47 because the first payment is for them to check your phone. you hope to get help, and therefore you are ready to pay money... unfortunately.. After that you have to wait up to 19 days! Can you imagine? But after 6 days I receive a message that my phone cannot be unlocked, the money is not returned. In exchange for your decorated money, they give you some kind of “credit note” on their website (which, by the way, no one has found). Unfortunately, purchased reviews on their website.

Hello Kateryna, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns with us. I'm sorry to hear about the frustration you've experienced with our service. Our goal is always to provide clear communication and a smooth process, so I'd like to clarify a few points regarding the payments and the service provided. As outlined in our terms and conditions, the initial payment of £23.99 serves as an Eligibility Check to ensure we can unlock your specific iPhone XR from the StraightTalk USA network. Once eligibility is confirmed, the subsequent £47 charge is for the actual unlocking process. This process is completed in two stages, as stated on our checkout page to maintain transparency. I understand the wait time can be inconvenient, and we appreciate your patience in this. It's unfortunate that we were unable to unlock your phone, and as per our policy, we've issued a credit note when a refund is not applicable. This credit note can be used for future services with us on different devices and unlocking services. Although your experience did not meet expectations, we hope you give us the chance to assist you further and address any issues you're facing. You can use your credit note for any other eligible service on our site, and we would be more than happy to guide you on how to redeem it or help with any other concerns you may have. If you have additional questions or need clarification on using your credit note, please get in touch with our customer support. We are here to help you through this process. Best regards, Charlotte

Hi there, We’re really sorry to hear you’ve had a less than satisfactory experience with us. It can indeed be frustrating when things don’t go as expected, and I appreciate the chance to clarify the situation for you. From your message, it sounds like your unlock process required an upgrade to our Premium Service after the initial eligibility check and Standard Service payment. This can occasionally happen due to certain network criteria or handset specifics uncovered during the unlocking process – which are sometimes not apparent until the actual work begins. While we strive to be transparent with costs and timeframes from the outset, our service descriptions and Terms and Conditions do mention that delivery times and additional costs can arise based on factors found during unlocking. Specifically, Section 7.3 of our terms and conditions states that eligibility checks, which are essential for understanding the phone's status, and unlocking costs are immediate and not eligible for a refund. However, if a Premium Service fails to unlock your phone, as stated in Section 7.9, you are entitled to a full refund of both Standard and Premium payments. I understand how important it is for you to use your phone freely, and we aim to help you achieve that. If your order status is awaiting the Premium Service payment, and you wish to continue, we will do our utmost to complete the unlocking as quickly as possible. However, if you no longer want to proceed, we respect your decision. If you can provide your IMEI number, I’d be glad to look into your case specifically and guide you accordingly. Without it, it's difficult to address your concerns precisely. Please also consider using the Live Support on your tracking page for more immediate assistance. We value your business and hope to resolve this matter to your satisfaction. Warm regards, Charlotte

I also was scammed and told it would only cost $28.99 to unlock my phone then found it was only an eligibility fee to see if my phone was eligible and that it met all criteria to release the unlock I have the email stating so, then said they needed $50 to unlock my phone at the standard service and came back with it not being unlocked and said I now have to pay $322.00 to 100% unlock the phone all of a sudden? This was not advertised when I was going thru the motions of trying to unlock my device. Now they only offer not a refund but a credit of what I already spend $88.18 towards attempting an unlock on another eligible device. This is a scam!! And I’ve reported them to BBB to try and resolve a refund. I feel if I dispute it with my bank they may try and blacklist my phone. Beware of being up charged.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear about the frustration you've experienced with the unlocking process. I'd like to assure you that it was never our intention to mislead you, and our aim is always to provide clear information to our customers. Regarding the costs, the initial $28.99 is for the eligibility check to determine whether your phone can be unlocked and that it meets the network criteria, as mentioned in section 7.3 of our terms. After that, the unlocking fee is required to proceed with the unlocking service. The shift to a higher fee for a 100% unlock can occur if the standard service doesn't succeed and a premium service is necessary. This is outlined in section 15.1 of the terms, though I appreciate it can be unexpected news. While we do not provide refunds for eligibility checks as they are part of a provided service, if your standard unlock has not been successful, according to our refund policy section 7.9, the payments for that could be refunded back to your card if premium service attempts have been made and failed. We certainly wouldn't want any action taken against your phone such as blacklisting for disputing a charge - our goal is to resolve your issue satisfactorily. I would strongly recommend using the Live Support option on your tracking page to discuss this further. They will need your IMEI number to look into your specific case in detail and provide the optimum solution. If there is anything else I can assist you with, please let me know – I'm here to help. Best regards, Charlotte

Scan, they charged me $28.99, stated the device will be unlocked in 24 hours, then asked to pay additional $50, as my credit company flagged this site/company as fraudulent, I had to try with 4 different cards information, worrying now they will use all my credit cards numbers and code for more fraudulent charges. Had to cancel all credit cards and request for new cards. It is way after 24 hours now, my device is still locked. Charged payment, no service provided.

Dear Lin Luo, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns with us. I’m sorry to hear about the frustration you’ve experienced. I understand that waiting longer than expected and dealing with payment issues can be quite stressful. Regarding the unlocking process, our service includes an initial Eligibility Check to ensure that your iPhone 13 Pro Max can be unlocked from AT&T USA's network. This check was the $28.99 payment which, as you mentioned, has been refunded to you. I understand the surprise of an additional payment request. As clarified in our terms, all phones require an Eligibility Check first, followed by an Unlocking Payment. We ensure all costs are transparent and outlined on the checkout page before any purchase is made. We take the security of our customers' payment information very seriously. I assure you, we do not store credit card details and follow strict data protection regulations to prevent any misuse of your personal information. Hello, I'm sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the payment process. I'd like to clarify the costs associated with our unlocking service. As outlined on our checkout page prior to purchase, all phones require an initial Eligibility Check, which is the initial payment you mentioned. Following this, if your phone is eligible for unlocking, there is an Unlocking Payment to complete the service. These two separate payments allow us to first verify if your phone can be unlocked and then to proceed with the actual unlocking process. I assure you that all costs are disclosed upfront, and we are committed to transparency with our customers. If your order status is 'awaiting payment', it means that your phone has passed the eligibility check and is ready for the unlocking process. Completing this step will allow us to unlock your phone, enabling you to use it with different networks. We understand that encountering unexpected costs can be frustrating, but we aim to provide a valuable service that allows your phone to have the freedom from a specific carrier. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to use the Live Support on your tracking page. We're here to ensure a positive experience. Best regards, Charlotte
