The selection of stones were amazing, the value is amazing but they didn’t take into account my special request of calling an hour before delivery. I specifically paid extra to have premium shipping and then the delivery driver luckily didn’t leave as I had a ring doorbell and kindly waited for me.

Hi Kerry, thank you for your review - we're glad you were happy with our wide selection of decorative stones. We do apologise that the third party courier did not call you an hour before delivery. The delivery companies we use are completely independent from Decorative Aggregates, although we had passed on your delivery instructions to the courier to call you one hour before delivery unfortunately they did not do so, which is the responsibility of the haulier. We will be contacting the courier to make sure that in future, delivery instructions followed, however we hope you enjoy your new stone.

Good delivery and helpful driver. Unfortunately the product looks nothing like the photos and are shaped wrong - looking more like large rocks than slate. The colour is also different with various pieces being brown or white instead of grey (or blue, like the rest that arrived)

Our decorative slate is a natural material - although we do our best to represent the size and colour of the stone on our website as accurately as possible, some variation can occur. Unfortunately, this is the first time we have been made aware of you having an issue with the product. Bought 40 bags of dashing, when arrived was to hand ball off [ not tail lift as said it would be ] only 39 bags arrived and out of the other 39 bags 11 were split with more than half the dash missing one bag was completely empty just a bag, another bag 3/4 empty and the others were half full, refunded 6 bags which was shy of the missing stone, will not answer the phone ! which is very annoying. I ordered another 10 bags as a customer saw the job and wanted the same, this order was ok. But even though this company was cheaper the hassle i have had dose not justify the savings , i will be going back to my usual supplier.

We apologise if you found your goods to be delivered in an unsuitable location - the haulier has reported that the goods were left there due to obstructions, however we do advise on our website that all deliveries are kerbside. We appreciate that you found our product great, however, and we hope you enjoy your new stone for many years to come.

Hello Julie, thank you for your review. As decorative aggregates are natural products, it is normal for some dust to attach to the product, however, a quick rinse with water will restore the product to its natural beauty.

I needed to talk to talk but it was impossible to get through. The line was either engaged or, if it rang, cut out without being answered. I tried many times, very frustrating. Product is excellent

Delivery was a day late, which was acceptable as demand for product is very high. Quality of material was not at all good, lots of extremely large lumps with very little being the actual size stated on website. Overall I am disappointed.

Didn't deliver on the due day and no communication to say that they weren't going to be delivered or when they were to be delivered. Very difficult to contact - don't respond to emails and phone just rings out.

Hi Andrew, we respond to all emails however due to the volume of enquiries we are receiving at present responses may be taking longer than usual. We are also answering all phone calls and the line is usually engaged. We sincerely apologise for any difficulty you had reaching us. Unfortunately, as we use several national independent hauliers, we rely on the delivery companies to inform us and customers of any potential delays or changes to delivery schedule. At present, they are all prioritising punctual deliveries over communication due to driver shortages and unprecedented volumes of freight moving through the UK haulage network which is causing some depots to be behind on deliveries. We are very sorry for any delays you experienced and for any inconvenience caused.

No response to my email complaining of the total colour mismatch to my previous Dove Grey Limestone and the sample you sent. Faced with now trying to blend 2 tonnes together to save the day!!

Quality of stones, ease of ordering wss no problem. However the delivery driver was the most un helpful person I have experienced in a long time. From the initial phone call he was miserable. Wss negative because he had to reverse the vehicle into the road then almost refused to unload the items on to the driveway. Was only the fact the clients son was in that he actually delivered them. Was constantly shouting he shouldn’t be doing it on his own and made the customer feel very intimidated.

Good price and delivery. On time and day. But the slate is very dirty with a very large amount of gravel and shrapnel. Maybe that is why the price was good.

As slate is a natural product, sometimes dirt and other particles can be attached to the product, however a simple power wash will restore the stone to its natural appearence. It is however unsual for a large amount of gravel and shrapnel to be included and this is the first time we have been made aware of this, please could you forward any pictures to enquiries@derbyaggs.com and we will investigate.

The stone is great but delivery and customer communication is terrible. Don’t take a day off work like I did and wait for a delivery which arrived 3 days later. For a company that has a contract with B&M I think that a disclaimer on their website claiming they are not responsible for delivery dates is shambolic. The product is good but the customer service is like dealing with a company in Kazakhstan.

Hello Gordon thank you for your review. The UK haulage network is currently experiencing incredibly high volumes of traffic and extreme pressure due to driver shortages. We use several hauliers and the issue is nationwide and affecting all sectors and they are prioritising delivery over communication. Even though, over 90% of orders are being delivered punctually, we are advising customers of the potential for delay via the website and order confirmations. I ordered white decorative stone and it is mostly yellowish. Top of the ton bag seemed nice and white but then alot of yellow started to appear.

The product was good, but delivery let me down. Firstly, they could not honour the delivery date and failed to let me know. Secondly, on the revised delivery date they failed to call me an hour before delivery, as per the agreement. Because of that, the goods were placed in the wrong location. Not a great performance, but at least the product was good!

We use several independent 3rd party couriers who are all advising of the potential for delays of up to 2 working days. Unfortunately, as the hauliers are independent companies we do not have access to their systems directly and rely on them to inform customers of any delays and to call an hour before delivery. Once again we do apologise for the delay and for any inconvenience this caused, however we are happy to learn that you found the product quality good!

I purchased 'decorative' boulders, pea gravel and cobbles to place around a new pond I have created. I spent a lot of money and was bitterly disappointed. None could be called decorative as it is still taking a very long time to hose off all the clay encasing the contents of all three bags/cage. I have had to do this as all the mud was leeching into the pond.

The bag of clippings arrived a day late, with a bust bag and dropped half on the curb. When I emailed to express my concern, I found the company very unsympathetic.

The aggregate is good and looks excellent. The delivery was difficult. I didn't get an hours notice and the good got delivered about half a mile up my street to a builders yard. I had to hire a van to collect it and bring it to my house...

We're happy you found the quality of the goods to be excellent, however, we are very sorry for the difficulties experienced during the delivery process. We will be investigating this with the 3rd party courier - although the hauliers are currently under a tremendous strain due to so much freight moving through the delivery network, it is very important to us that deliveries arrive at the correct address. Once again we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this caused, however we are glad you are happy with the quality of our aggregate.

Whilst delivery of both batches was excellent (2x2 bulk bags in all) there is a noticeable difference in the quantity of smaller size gravel between the batches. It is specified as ranging from 12 - 30mm. The first batch had very little if any gravel less than 20mm whereas the second had about 50% of the smaller sizes. As a consequence, although subtle, we could see a difference in texture. This was also commented on by a neighbour. In short very disappointing given the price.

The majority of deliveries are continuing to arrive on time, however as we have advised on our website some deliveries may be delayed by up to 48 hours or more due to a strain on the national haulage network. Sadly, the entire sector is facing similar challenges. Once again we do apologise for any difficulties with your delivery.
