“I tried to order over the phone but I now know you have to order online. it would be nice to order over the phone as you can ask questions and get help if you need. The person I spoke to on the phone was however very helpful and directed me to where I needed to be.”

“I recently bought a lovely scarf which I thought would make some great lampshades. Having never made any before I searched online and found the Dannells website. I decided to go big to start with - a 60cm drum shade - and I am very pleased with it. I have also made two matching lampshades for my bedside tables from the remainder of the scarf and I still have enough fabric left for a second 60cm shade, which I will be making when the new ring set and panel arrive tomorrow. I watched the "how to" video - which was easy to follow and I am still a bit surprised at how well they turned out. I would warn against using delicate fabrics that fray easily (my scarf fabric did) but the video does mention this. My only mini gripe is that delivery takes a bit too long and I would much prefer having the option of Royal Mail delivery DPD for all of my purchases (not just the smaller items) as the DPD costs are double that of Royal Mail. The delivery timescale for my 3 orders to date: 5 days, 8 days and 6 days.”

“With the help of excellent videos I have made new shades for 2 table lamps. The only downside was having to buy a larger quantity of the material than I needed so I’ll now have to find some more shades to recover.”

“The lights were fine, although the batteries needed changing almost immediately. Also, I wonder when Dannells could improve their packaging to make it more sustainable. Still lots of plastic tape on the box.”
