“I have been using Cornerstone products for about three months now, and I very much like the automatic delivery schedule and their great customer service team, who are really good at communicating deliveries and so on. The Shave Gel is very different from the Nivea product I used before. Much less is needed, and when applied it is invisible. However, the shave is excellent, and after only a few days to get used to it, I liked it very much. Initially, I used too much and ran out of product before the six weeks were up (I shave every day). However, no problem, I sent Cornerstone an email and they were happy to mail me out a new tube next day and before the normal delivery date, so now I have a tube in hand. However, I think with experience I am now using less, and a tube will last six weeks. Face Scrub is not a product I have used before, but it really does seem to add something to the quality of the shave, and I am now very happy to use it every few days and for 'special occasion' shaves. I also enjoy the Face Balm, and again I made an initial mistake of using too much - a little does go a long way, and I enjoy the minty fresh sensation after shaving, but without the drying effects of alcohol after shave. I had no problem with the old style razor and blades, which only lacked an edge trimmer in my experience. I have to say that the new style razor and blades are a bit of a disappointment. The razor has a smooth chrome, slightly curvy finish, and it is very difficult to hold accurately as it is quite slippy and a bit like trying to hang on to a greasy pole. The blades too do not shave as closely as the previous ones, and my opinion on that has not changed after ten days or so of use. They also seem to need to be held at a particular angle, far more accurately than the previous ones. The addition of the edge trimmer is welcome, but unfortunately there seems to be more downside than upside as a result of the change. I would revert to the old style razor and blades if that were an option, and if the edge trimmer could be added to the old style blades, the product would be perfect.”

Thanks for your lovely review however I am sorry to hear that you are not a fan of the new blades. We developed it specifically with feedback from our members, who asked us to include a trimmer blade, better blade spacing and a more contoured handle. We even asked some members to help test our razor before its release, to be sure we got it just right. I’m sorry it hasn’t felt that way for you. If you pop an email across to the care team on help@cornerstone.co.uk they can revert you back to the original blades for future orders whilst we have them in stock.

“I absolutely LOVE cornerstone shavers they're so comfortable to use and normally I hate shaving cause I always get cut and is just not a nice feeling however with this shaver I can't wait for my next shaving session. Definitely recommend 👍🏻”

“The new blades are step backwards I'm afraid. They do not shave as close or as quickly as the previous blades and look and feel more 'off the shelf commercial' than the previous blades which were excellent. My feeling is Cornerstone have gone through a cost per unit cutting exercise and subsequently lost some of the individuality and specialist quality the previous blades provided. Please change them back again.”

Sorry to hear our new blades are not for you. We developed it specifically with feedback from our members, who asked us to include a trimmer blade, better blade spacing and a more contoured handle. We even asked some members to help test our razor before its release, to be sure we got it just right. I’m sorry it hasn’t felt that way for you.If you pop an email across to help@cornerstone.co.uk they can switch you back to the original razors whilst we still have a stock of them.

“The delivery was very quick and my box contained everything Cornerstone had promised it would: My razor handle was engraved to my desired specification,Which is a lovely and very unique touch!!.. “The handle is beautiful. Sadly the blades do not give a good shave. They are sharp very sharp, but uncomfortable and do not give a good shave, takes many passes to actually get a decent shave.”

“Woh, just used my all new Cornerstone razor handle, and blade, without a shadow(sorry)of doubt, the best shave ever, there's usually places you need to go over several times to get the smoothest finish, not with the improved razor blades, this sounds like a company plant, not, try it , unbelievable.”

“Received my new razor blades handle and cover at the weekend as always a great shave. Less clogging than the older style which is great. Handle seems to put blade at a slightly different angle to face but that's a habit thing and won't notice after a few shaves. Like the cover to nice touch to protect the blade and allow drying. As always superb delivery emails before posting, after posting and on delivery.”

“Having used Cornerstone razor for almost two weeks now (shaving every second day) I feel I am now in a position to pass comment. I did read the reviews of this razor on this very site before going ahead with the plan. The handle is excellent. I find it weighted well and the right size for my hands. Some of the other handles on the market are too thin for my liking and I end up having to hold them like an artist holds his brush. I like the fact that I can get a good grip of this handle, the engraving is a nice touch too. Unlike other users, I have not had any issues with a slippery/greasy handle. Even with a wet hand I can grip the handle just fine, I always make sure my hand is foam/gel free before shaving so that might be the issue for the other users The blades cut well and give a good shave. I have had no problems shaving under the nose or indeed around any contour, nor have I had any issues with blades clogging. A good swish about in the water after each stroke is enough to clear any gel/foam/hair from the blades before you go again. I am still using the first blade and have not found it to have been dulled by use. I should point out that the blades I have at the moment are the 'older' style that do not contain the single trimmer blade on the back that has been mentioned a few times, I think I just missed the release of this style of blade. One positive is that I have not been getting a stinging sensation near the corners of my mouth with this blade which I have had with several of Cornerstones' competitors. The pre-face scrub is pleasantly scented and is easy to wash off. It is black in colour so go easy on it or you could be verging on face-pack territory but because of its colour you can see any bits you've missed. I chose the gel over the foam but I have changed to the foam for my next box. The ONLY reason for this is because I had dreadful eye-sight. Even though the gel does produce a small amount of lather I still missed a couple of areas that I won't miss with the foam. Shaving with the gel though is unbelievably smooth. The blades just glides over the face with the gel, I'm not expecting to get the same kind of shave with the foam but i'll happily sacrifice that to avoid the occasional patch that I miss. The post-shave balm does exactly as you would expect. It cools the face, smells nice & doesn't leave a residue on the face,”

“I have been a member of cornerstone for a while now, and they have just changed the handle and blades. The handle itself is a vast improvement on the last one and the engraving adds that personal touch. The new blades boast to be superior to the previous, unfortunately I disagree. Yes it gives a great close shave and yes it glides effortlessly over the face. It doesn't however appear to shave you beard well with one run over the face and takes 3 or for times to get the same result as previously achieved by 1 or two passes. The trimming blade is a welcome addition and should remain on any further blades in the future. It is a real shame that the blades seem to have taken a step back. On first use the silicon type bottom section appears to stick to the face until it starts to clog with the shaving product. The angle of the blade doesn't feel natural to me either. I also got a free sample of post shave balm and again I feel this has missed the mark it soothes for about 5 minutes before the burn starts again, burn I might add I never got from the old style blades.”

So sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the new blades Kyle. We haven't changes the angle of the blades from the original blades however we did introduce better blade spacing to ensure less clogging, I'm sorry that doesn't seem to have worked on this occasion. I would recommend rinsing the blade under hot water after each stroke to minimize this. I would recommend watching our latest video for expert tips from a professional barber on getting the best shave, including for instance shaving after a hot shower to soften stubble or going with the grain to prevent ingrown hairs. These tips might be second nature to you of course, but a lot of our members find them very useful. “I have just used my razor for the first time, the blades are excellent and give a nice close shave. The handle is awful, shaving uses water and water on the Chrome handle makes it very slippery. It is the worst handle I have used and is very inferior to your competitors . A rubberised handle would make your product truly excellent. I have also not received my aftershave balm which was on my order”

We developed our new razor based on feedback and suggestions from our members, and even asked some of them to test it out before it was released. In developing the handle, we designed it to be more contoured, to fit in the hand better - I’m sorry to hear that hasn’t done the trick for you. We would recommend rinsing any gels or creams from your hands and drying them throroughly, before going ahead with your shave.

“Having recently received my first box I was impressed with the presentation of the products. Unfortunately, for me at least, the performance doesn't match the presentation. It has left my face with a few large rashes, something I haven't suffered with previously, and hasn't even provided a very close shave. Needless to say I have now cancelled my subscription and will seek out an alternative”
