“I used the insurer sponsored by confused, when the documents came I realised I had went threw a broker who had added fees and designed the insurance and terms in such a way it would cost the price of the insurance to cancel it, even within the 14 days of receival of the documents. It also costs a lot to alter any details on the insurance. None of this information was available at the time of purchase, previously I’ve always been able to cancel a insurance free within 14 days of receiving the documents especially when the insurance date was not yet reached. I feel like I was scammed by confused and the broker. I’m now stuck with this insurance or cancel it and lose 1 years of insurance. Confused should make it clearer when online paying for insurance that after doing so if it applies that there are high charges that are non refundable with additional charges to cancel before the 14 day cool down period. These non refundable fees go down as arrangement fees from the broker which also charges more to cancel or alter the policy. It should clearly state when a broker is being used.”
