Comparison sites are great and Confused.com was easy to use and search, but in the end, it didn’t help at all. I found good priced quotes for car insurance, particularly as I haven’t had a car for some years. However, I tried three times to purchase insurance only to be redirected to the company websites and somehow the price had trebled or even quadrupled. It’s pointless to be quoted £3-400 when the actual price is more like £1200-a ludicrous amount for a car worth hundreds even with my son as an additional driver.

you allow companies that fraudsntly use auto renewal that they dont allow you to cancel ! i asked for 1 years insurance not 20?years that i dont know the price of !!!! get your act together or go bust ! i now have to cancell the insurance and they try to make that impossible you should vet and ban sharp practice

The cheapest quotes that were provided turned out to not exist when following up with the insurer. Provided a quote for car insurance which was £195 for the year. This was followed by a message saying ‘you have encountered a pit stop’ when details were entered on the insurers website the quote was over £1000 (more than 3x higher than the next cheapest quote that actually existed). Pretty disappointing - price comparison sites only work if the results can be trusted. Going back to go.compare!

I had quotes when I specified I wanted legal protection included. I was shown a quote from Saga for around £235 and the box fir legal cover was ticked indicating it was included at a cost of £15 extra which was included in the quote. When I was transfered to the Saga site for full details I was told I had opted for "Bronze cover" whi h was the most basic. Anything with legal cover was over £315. A complete waste of my time entering details and filters. Also, it was misleading.

I noticed something very disappointing when using Confused.com for my car insurance renewal. The renewal price seems to increase every few days, which feels like a tactic to push customers into buying quickly out of fear of paying more later. In comparison, I checked with other comparison sites and competitors, and their prices stayed consistent for at least two weeks, giving me enough time to make a clear and confident decision. Confused.com should be more transparent and fair with pricing, instead of creating unnecessary pressure on customers. This experience has made me lose trust in the platform.
