Avoid for learner driver insurance!!... Took the full 12 month payment and WONT refund pro rata less an admin fee once you have passed your test. Told there small print says NO refunds. Passed after 4 weeks so would have expected some sort of refund.

Just like all the rest. First year full comp 3000 miles a year £274 no claims no points Second year full comp 3000 miles a year £580 no claims no points. Ah prices went up across the board(cartel) DOUBLE ?. Pity

My husband last year was a named driver on my car. In May 2023 he had a totally unavoidable accident hitting a deer in his car on a country road in darkness. This resulted in a "fault" claim because he clearly could not claim against the deer. To keep him as a named driver on my car added over 450 pounds to my premium which is outrageous. He is no longer a named driver. We are both appalled by this issue so it is impossible to rate your company.

Dear Mrs Bracey, Thank you for your review and I am sorry to hear about this - City Insurance is a broker and offers a variety of insurance products to suit individuals' needs. As a broker, we do not control the price and unfortunately, as the accident earlier this year did not involve a third party, the insurer settled the claim against the named driver which will affect premiums. I can see my colleague carried out a full review of the policy with you and was able to source a cheaper alternative with another insurer, albeit without the named driver mentioned, which you accepted. As a loyal customer over 10 years, i accumulated 9 years no claims, i was never offered the option to protect these no claims. i was not advised ever on how many years i had accumulated. hence when i had an accident, i lost six years. Not a great service !

Rated 1 out of 5 stars Avoid them I cancelled my insurance… Avoid them I cancelled my insurance yesterday I had a balance of £272 the person I spoke with he said you only have £98 then I said I'm not happy with this figure and sound unfair. Then he returned told me its actually £146.90 They are Rip-offs be careful. Imagine if I was accepting £98 their system had no problem. Also imagine they did this to how many customers each day. -0 star

This company gets a one start only because I cannot give zero stars. I took out a car policy 4 days ago but decided to cancel only to be told there is a £50 cancellation fee, even within the cooling off period no other company i know off does this, how completely ridiculous. should have known better than to go with a company I never heard of before.

Dear Mr, Keenan, Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear of your displeasure on this occasion. I note from our records, you opted to purchase this policy online to which you answer all questions via an aggregator. Prior to purchase, you are presented with the terms of business to read and accept, which does explain that a £50 charge is applicable should you wish to cancel the policy. When you spoke with our team, I understand the reason for cancellation is due to taking another alternative quotation which was cheaper, this being 4 days later from our purchase. You will find it common place, for insurers and brokers alike who trade via aggregators to have a cancellation charge due to the number of costs incurred as a result of the acquisition of that piece of business. The charges within the cooling off period, are reduced from our normal terms and only pay 'some' of those acquisition costs. I Had 2 cars insured through City. The renewal of one came up and the price was way higher than I found elsewhere. Talked to an agent with regard to this but there was no reaction. Will go with another company that offers a better rate for the same benefits.

I cancelled my insurance with this company as they said they couldn't insure my new vehicle. They told me it would take a while for my refund to come through so i waited patiently. today i chased it up and they say they have no record of my conversation with them I had 8 months left on my policy that cost £477. They offered me £43 refund. Keep away from this bunch of cowboys if I were you. I certainly will from now on.

Dear Mr Harris, thank you for your feedback and I am sorry you feel this way. Having checked our telephone records, the last conversation we had with you was in August 2022 when an additional driver was added to the vehicle. Unfortunately we have no subsequent recordings of you calling our office advising the sale of the vehicle. However, when you did call our office to discuss the matter we did advise that if you could provide evidence of the vehicle sale then we would be able to consider a further backdated refund. Beware of this company!!! Absolutely worst experience. after payment done, you will not receive any notifications from them. call to cancel and they and will charge you, Reason for not being established

My insurer failed to make contact with the third party insurer, so I had to pay £400 myself. What is the point of insuring with you if you cannot protect me? I will most certainly not be seeking insurance from you again and have shared my experience with friends and my repair garage. I did not want to give you any star because you were useless.

Dear Mr Purvis, We are sorry to receive your comments. Having fully investigated your case, the reason your claim wasn't dealt with was non-cooperation on the part of the third party. Opposed to your insurer failing to make contact, as suggested. In fact, 6 months were spent chasing the third party on your behalf. Other options were also made available to you and it was ultimately your decision to pay the £400. Warning, be very careful if you’re using this company. They take your money after offering you a good price, then increase it after you sign up, after 14 days so you can’t cancel . Also very bad customer service. I’d never use them again.

The naturally resulted in an additional premium, as would be the the case for any insurance policy in this scenario. The worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with. Just want to take your money. Cancelled my policy without any notification to myself, driving around for a week with no insurance. Please please please do not use this broker company.
