I’m just writing this review to express my disappointment with Chisholm Hunter. I usually don’t do reviews, the last time I got so down was in Schuh where they don’t allow returns if you wore the boots (how else do you know the DM’s would leak if you don’t wear it on a rainy day). This would be the second: Chisholm Hunter’s cut-off time is 12nn. If you ordered by 12:01pm they won’t process it for next-day delivery. They’ll just sit and sleep on it until the next day and then process that for delivery, which means you’ll get your watch TWO DAYS LATER. Like who does that? 12nn who does cut-off time at 12nn? That’s like closing down a shop by 12nn because you’re too lazy to work. Goldsmiths & Beaverbrooks cut-off time is 6pm at least. 6:00pm! Also, I’ve been on guitar shops like Andertons and PMT, the cut-off time is 3pm. For GUITARS. Like 6kg or 7kg bulky guitars, cut-off time is 3pm. Chisholm Hunter only packs these 200gram-max watches. They’re NOT packing heavy things. There’s no excuse or reason that guitar shops could cut-off at 3pm, and competitors like Goldsmiths could cut-off at 6pm, meanwhile Chisholm Hunter cuts-off at 12nn as if they don’t wanna work. My order involves a Tudor Black Bay P01, which is Tudor’s “ugly duckling” that nobody wanted it? But I do. I like the off-looking, different from normal types of watches, and this Tudor P01 speaks to me. It took me about 12:17pm to finalise the order via V12finance because I ain’t rich, I work as a nurse in the NHS but I love watches. Paying £134 a month for 18months should be okay financial-wise. So this is my “fault” now that because I ordered 17minutes too late, 12:17pm in Goldsmiths or Beaverbrooks would be NO PROBLEM. I’d never thought Chisholm Hunter’s cut-off time is 12nn thus the sheer disappointment, it’s just inexcusable. So, as I do like that Tudor, I have to cancel it. Yes, I’m aware the Tudor P01 is discontinued and this may be the only chance to get this brand-new, & not a secondhand in Watchfinder. Seriously, what is Chisholm Hunter gonna do after 12nn? It’s not gonna take an hour to pack a watch. BUT WAIT—there is a happy ending: Robert Gatward has the Tudor P01 in their stock, discounted also like Chisholm Hunter’s. Hence what we all got from this? Chisholm Hunter lost a sale for cutting-off orders at 12nn. Thank you for reading!

Where I do I start!! Saw a lovely Swarovski Crystal bracelet in the window for £85 went in & tried it on, it was perfect. I checked with assistant that it was £85 & she said yes. The assistant then went to the til, then after a hushed chat with another assistant, came back & said the bracelet was actually £115!!! We argued that it had been advertised at £85 but Manager was not having it! It was just human error & we could have it for £100 so we walked out!! I had told the assistant that I had been given money from someone who had since died so it was nice I had found a beautiful keepsake. So disappointed, we found the Manager very rude & off hand! I actually felt sorry for the assistant. Come home & found the same bracelet on Amazon for £80 so that’s Karma. They wonder why the high street is dying??

Simply appalling. Bought wedding rings, one arrived and they tried to give us a different one on the second. 1 month after our wedding we finally have both our rings. Store staff all say different things, at best incompetence but seemed more by plan. We met the store manager, no idea his name as he did not give it and beyond professional.

Ordered item before noon on the Thursday with the assurance of "Guaranteed next day delivery" Having no further communication from CH I contacted them on the Friday asking where is my order, response, "Unfortunately we had an issue with Royal Mail yesterday and the post was delayed until today meaning this will be delivered tomorrow for you" THAT TOLD ME OFF. Eventually received item on the Tuesday which I have now returned for a full refund. Total lack of communication knowing that the item was delayed but no importance of notifying the customer.

Bought an eternity ring for my wife for our anniversary. Purchased online on the Monday (in stock) and express delivery option selected. Got email on Tuesday to say that the ring was having to come from their supplier (so obviously not in stock!) and would not be here until at least early the following week. Dealt with Sanah who was uninterested to be honest. Never responded to emails and never called back with updates like she said she would.

I enquired about a ring that was in the window. The assistant wasn’t helpful, he told me it was £390 and I felt stupid and intimidated by him I felt upset for asking about it, I felt he was laughing at me. I went online and seen the ring on the website priced £39 and bought it. I don’t think I would ever be back in the shop and would certainly not recommend it. This was the Princes street store.

Ordered earrings before Christmas. First 2 attempts didn’t complete. Then had a tracking number which said delivery on 23rd December. Received notification and photo from Royal Mail to say package was delivered on 23rd. Not my front door or post code. I seem to have been sent wrong tracking number. Phoned store twice and promised a call back. On my 3rd call I was told the earrings had never been shipped in the first place. No apology! The package would be collected by Royal Mail at 2 o’clock! Of course didn’t arrive until 27th! One very disappointed daughter.

Before you buy diamonds . Ask them to let you see the diamonds under UV light(their little magnifies have this option). I purchased 2 rings(sale price £5000/£2000) Plus 2 bracelets sale price £5000 each. They GLOW green. This indicates cheap diamonds. There are 3 diamonds on one of my rings that are pure green, they actually look like pieces of plastic under UV light. From what I gather, these SHOULD NOT be used for jewellery. Cheap as chips comes to mind!!! Puts me in mind of Ratners. They show you the jewellery under nice shiny lights, makes them sparkly. Only once you see quality jewellery against theirs do you realize "they ain't that sparkly

Put my Tag watch in 3 years ago for a service - recently put it into a Tag dealership for a new battery. Sent to Tag for replacement- got a report back from Tag to say movement was not a Tag and had been replaced with a poor substitute - watch no longer a Tag and they refused to deal with it. Hunter Chisholm denied it was them despite, through an SAR, having a workshop worksheet saying they had changed it. Been met with nothing but lies and ignorance since in trying to get them to make amends. Don’t trust them.. Further update - they have recognised that they put in a fake movement but that I should be happy that I had a functional timepiece not that it had been ruined by this fake movement. However their own preowned selling website state they would not resell a signature watch with a fake movement - double standards and utter bull. Still refusing to send SAR information Still refusing to pay for correcting their fraud Courts and ICO fines coming their way.

Proposed to...said yes ring did not fit..arrived at Aberdeen store with partner to order a new ring as the original did not fit. We were made to feel like royalty prpsseco coffee offered and much appreciated. Ring sized and told that we would be called when the new ring was ready to collect. My partner lee mckay had such phone call the day before collection 19/12/24 and confirmed with Mr McKay that the ring was ready to collect. I then arrive at the shop said what I was advised to say by the previous staff. I was asked to take a seat. After discussing things with a colleague they cleark approached me to ask further questions...which I answered clearly and correctly. I was asked to take a seat at the comnunal area after purchasing a very expensive engagement ring from your premises. I waited 10 minutes after being asked my name numerous times and the name of my partner which I was not surprised with. After answering My full name My partners full name Address And after my partner calling me to confirm that my ring was ready to collect.....from your Aberdeen branch I was delighted to have my engagement ring and show or off with pride. Unfortunately this was not to be. I did not have the same welcome that I had experienced before with my partner. When asked by my partner after my experience....I do not want to collect my engagement ring after my second experience with chisholm Hunter, and have asked my partner to collect on my behalf

Did not honour their promise to buy back my jewellery. Had to go back and forth before they said they would then 2 weeks later they wouldn’t. Didn’t seem to know what was going on. Dishonest and poor service. Avoid . Use a reputable company that is honourable.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent purchase I made from your store. Chisholm Hunter, established in 1857, has a long-standing reputation; however, my experience has left me disappointed. While on vacation in Egypt in October, where the average temperature was around 36 degrees Celsius, I purchased a pair of earrings from your branch, which I later discovered operates under the umbrella of a third-world country. Unfortunately, the earrings melted upon contact, with small parts breaking off. I returned to the store to report this issue, and I was informed that an examination of the product would be necessary. However, I have concerns about the reliability of this examination and the motivations behind it. It seems troubling that in pursuit of profit, the quality of your products may be compromised. I hope you can address my concerns promptly and provide a resolution. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
