Horrific. Selling a used and damaged watch as brand new and then creating an elaborate set of lies to scam the customer! Loads of other reviews saying the same sort of thing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Poor quality piece - indifferent customer service. My opinion - don't buy online. See before you buy!

The watch you sold me, it was an old stock and I couldn’t connect it to the phone. When I called you and ask about solution you sent me to the manufacturer, like nothing to do with us. Conclusion: I would love to add a picture in the box below with my new watch bought from you, but is in service with the manufacturer:))

Do not buy from here! I purchased a Tissot watch and returned it in all it's original packaging with the security tag still attached. Chisholm Hunter then told me they couldn't process my refund as I hadn't returned a tiny little card that was enclosed in the package. The card was handwritten and had the watch number on. The watch number is on the back of the watch so I'm sure they could just make another card. The whole returns process was a bit convoluted, you had to email them requesting a refund, then they email you encouraging you to exchange for another item. Then they email you a returns form you have to print. Not everyone has a printer! So they obviously aren't keen on observing consumer rights and giving out a refund and are trying to make the process difficult. Also I had to pay around £9 to return the item via royal mail. I'd bought two watches from two different merchants as I wanted to try them on in real life and the watches I liked were both stocked by different merchants. The watch I kept I had ordered directly from Tissot. If you're considering buying online I'd advise you to avoid this company.

In November 2022 my husband purchased three rings for myself, our daughter and daughter in law, with money he received as part of an inheritance from his mother. At the time of purchase I wrote a 5 star review on the customer service we received, which was at the time excellent. However, I now find myself writing another review, this time only 1 star, the reason being that my daughter’s diamond ring lost 4 of the diamonds a few months ago. As said daughter lives in Cornwall, she took the ring to a local reputable jewellers to ask if they could replace the diamonds. The jeweller said he would send the ring to their workshop for an estimate, when she returned for their result, he said he was sorry to have to inform her that the ring was very poorly made and therefore could not be repaired, but would have to be remade as the claws holding the diamonds in place were inadequate. My daughter asked if there was any way she could have damaged the ring herself and was told that this was not possible as it wasn’t damage causing the problem, but poor manufacture of the ring in the first place. He suggested she return the ring to Chisholm Hunter, together with a covering letter he was prepared to supply explaining just what was wrong with the ring. I emailed Chisholm to explain what had happened, I have to say the rather curt reply I received wasn’t what I expected from a reputable company. Firstly it sounded like they hadn’t understood a word I had written and secondly i had the impression that English wasn’t the writers first language, as it was very badly written in my opinion. They suggested returning the ring, but would not accept a third party’s opinion, which I suppose is fair enough. My daughter returned the ring, and offered to send photos of the ring from the day she received it and after the stones had fallen out, which clearly showed on the first photo that the claws weren’t adequate. However, the final reply she had from Chisholm suggested their workshop said that the ring had been badly damaged with the result that the stones had dropped out, but offered to repair it for £500. We told our daughter to have her ring returned and we would pay her local jeweller to remake the ring if they were prepared to do so, we were certainly not putting any more business their way, and will not now be recommending Chisholm Hunter to anyone in the future.

Worst company to deal with Manager does not have a clue We bought £10k to just break on us, after they had it for a year and could not repair it, Now we are in a legal dispute and they do not respond to lawyers letter. Definitely stay away if you are looking for expensive jewellery

I bought a diamond wedding ring in August 2023. One of the claws broke and a diamond was lost. When I contacted them and sent them the ring, I was told it looked worn (obviously) and to repair the ring would cost me £383. I've seen similar comments from others, so they must do this a lot. Currently talking to Gaynor in customer services, I will update.

I bought a Rolex watch from store last year, watch was not holding charge, traveled back to store, it was sent away, I travelled back again to pick watch up. (After they had had it for six weeks) As I live a 100mile distance from store I emailed them last June….no response has ever been given, watch now gains time as well, so very disappointed after spending ( not that amounts should come into this) in excess of £9700

I would not buy any big purchases from this retailer again. I bought a Hamilton watch from Chisholm Hunter about 10 months ago and have worn it around 10 times only. The watch strap started coming apart, at the stitching, so I returned it to store and they sent it to Hamilton but that is was wear and tear. Hamilton are refusing to do anything and CH are offering 20% off a new strap. A watch that RRPs at £750 should need a new strap after 10 wears - or even 10 months if I was wearing it daily. They've also had the watch for over 6 weeks and it will take another 2 to return in. I will be instigating a chargeback at the bank for faulty goods.

I was totally disappointed with this place. First of all I brought my wedding ring to fix the diamond, and the lady who was talking my order just put my right on her finger instead of holding it in in her hands. It was quite unpleasant. Then after 1,5 week of waiting I got a call from the shop asking for extra 80£ for fixing the stone of my ring because they thought that the diamond is smaller.... I believe that if the staff of the shop made a mistake and told me than the price was 60£ and then in a 1,5 week they found out that I should pay130£, they should correct this mistake without bothering client. This shop has customer unfriendly attitude. I wouldn't recommend it.

I ordered a Ruby and diamond ring in March and was told it would arrive in store within 2 weeks. I rang today (11-04-24), and spoke to Amber for her to say oh it’s not arrived yet there is about a 2 week delay on it. I told her it is for my daughter’s 40th Birthday at the end of April. She said I’ll swing it to make sure you get it is that ok, I said no it’s not actually and what do you mean you will swing it. I think the words she was looking for was I’ll give you the good customer service you should be getting. I said this isn’t good enough. I have already paid almost £1000 for this ring and now it’s not even here. I asked her how she could guarantee I’ll get it and she said I again I’ll really swing it to make sure you get it. I’m absolutely disgusted and if the ring has not arrived by next week then I will be demanding a refund. What on earth do I tell me daughter if I have no gift for her.

Purchased online a 9ct white gold chain at £245. For the price I expected a reasonable chain to carry a gold locket. The chain arrived. It was very very thin. Looked like it would break very easily. Not as described online as being 1.2mm. Wieght of this chain was only 0.8 grams. I returned it to the nearest store which is 30 miles away to check I had been sent the correct chain and look to purchase another. It was confirmed I had the correct chain but the online description is not correct. The staff in the shop were lovely and very efficient. I would give them 5 stars. But my experience purchasing online was negative as I had to drive a 60 mile round journey to return the item and buy another elsewhere as this was for part of a present to be given the following day. I purchased another chain from another jeweller. It weighed 3.4 grams and was only £220. I will not buy online from Chisolm Hunter again.
