I was asked by CABP to do a review, so I've done as requested. There were a number of issues with my orders. 1. Initial Delivery. Ordered £800 of goods. Should have arrived in first week, but didn't because transport manager was on holiday. Rescheduled for 2nd week, but they forgot to put it on the delivery vehicle. It arrived in the third week. Make sure you read their delivery policy, because you won't know what day the deliver until the evening before, and you won't get the goods unless they're signed for. For most customers, this is likely to be a significant issue. 2. Offloading. There were 2 sheets of 3m x 2m plastic roofing. The driver arrived on his own, expecting help to offload the items. I'd had a surgical procedure the day before so was reluctant to help. I was told he would have to take it back to the depot. My builder had already been put off twice, so I couldn't afford to have the goods returned to depot. So I helped, and for the next 2 days, suffered the consequences of my reluctant decision. 3. I then placed another order, but needed to return some items from the first order. Both the delivery and collection were to be done on the same visit. So I paid £40 delivery charge, but then had to pay another £30 collection charge, even though the driver was already on site. 4. No instructions were provided on how the various roofing parts fitted together. The twinwall edge filler was a particulary bad design, difficult to fit and left the capping at an angle. 5. End caps for the twinwall and polycarbonate sheets were awful. The first was a 'one size fits all' and looked a mess on my 10mm twinwall. There appeared to be no end caps for the solid poycarbonate sheet glazing bars, so I was sent some 50mm x 50mm, 'L' shaped bits of plastic to put over the ends. I attempted to shape them, but they still looked a mess. 6. The 2 stars awarded are for the effort put in by staff to make up for all the things that went wrong. 7. I do realise that CAPB are probably a relatively small business, trying to keep costs down, but regretably, I would not buy from CABP again.

Thank you for the review, we are sorry that feel you have had a poor experience. We did in fact try to deliver the original order on the 22/09/17 but you were unavailable to receive the delivery. We do provide a delivery service, which is a kerb side delivery or nearest unrestricted parking region to the site. Our drivers are normally quiet helpful in assisting the labour you provide for moving the items from this place to the final resting place you would like, but this is their goodwill and nature. We are sorry to hear that you had required surgery for an ailment prior to receiving our materials, and perhaps a major build project with large, cumbersome and heavy materials is not the best bit of scheduling and should be reconsidered in future. The cost of delivery charges and return charges do not in fact cover the true economic costs of these activities, and they are offered as a subsidised service for our customers. It appears then that you and we would prefer for you to arrange your own transportation services based on a cost basis. Considering our nearly 50 years of experience in transporting these goods and costs, issues and specialist vehicles required we would like to think we have refined this service to be the most cost efficient we can. We are however a very progressive company, which is why we have traded for so long, and always look to learn new insights that we may have overlooked and so would love to receive your feedback with costing breakdowns on how we may improve the cost efficiencies to then be able to offer improved value to our customers. The products themselves have stood the test of time, and yes you did indeed purchase the most budget bar that we produce with the 1 size fits all endcap, which is designed for minimum cost rather than aesthetics. We do provide a wide roofing options and a wide range of instructions online including documents for printing and videos for viewing. There is however no one set of instructions that fit every possible combination of materials purchased and we cannot predict how some of our customers are intending to use the materials, for example the gentleman that used Ogee guttering to frame a hole in a wall. Thank you for saying that you have given 2 stars in recognition of the additional efforts put in by members of staff, although you have only actually left a 1 star rating. Not very helpful at the Gillingham depot. With so many options if suppliers you would think they would have a better attitude.

Dear Mr Draxler Thank you for the review, we are sorry that you feel that the level of service was not up to the level you wanted, and the review does not say what in particular could be improved. From looking at the history of the order, you were placing the order for some materials on the 11th and wanted delivery on the 13th, but were informed that was not possible. Clearly time was of the essence for you as you then made the 94 mile drive to the store to purchase the items on the 12th. We understand there are many suppliers of building materials, but in your case these materials ordered are in fact very unusual and not stocked by most. We are currently the only importer of this product from this manufacturer in the UK, and is most likely why you were unable to find these sheets elsewhere. If time was not your most crucial factor we could have delivered these items for you for only £24.95 +VAT as you are aware. Something to bear in mind when planning future projects. Its not fast now so slow I thought you would be faster as i love your stuff and have had lots in the past. Its bank holiday weekend the time i was going to do the job now i suppose it will be tuesday before i see it. Come on C&A be like you was years back

Dear Mark Thank you for the review, we are not sure where the 5-7days comes from, your region is normally delivered within 10 working days for these extra large sheets 6M x 2.1M. It is normal that the drivers do call the previous day their deliveries for the following day, especially with sheets of this size. We are sorry you fell that the service did not live up to your expectations, but hope that your installation wen well and that you enjoy your roofing. Hi We are sorry about the delayed delivery, This was due to the ransom ware that affected TNT that was in the news. We did explain this to all customers, and we are sorry that you this then meant that your desires could not be meet. TNT are up and running now and your order for a saw miter box was dispatched. The wrong item was sent and C&A refused to fulfill the order having acknowledged it was their error. It was only when I threatened legal action that the order was fulfilled. Good product, really poor customer service.

From the notes that are on the system I can see that the wrong colour was dispatched initially, and this reviews is from the reissued parts. I ordered polycarbonate twinwall so the problem probably only applies to this product. The twinwall was covered in plastic burrs from the cutting process. The burrs were trapped inside the twinwall, throughout. They are virtually impossible to remove, I have tried vacuuming them out, and using compressed air, but they just become staic and won't budge. I spoke to the company on the phone to see what they could do as the pieces of twinwall are un-usable of the application I need them for, as I need them to be clean, and they just said that's how they send them out and there was nothing that could be done. I would highly reccommend not using this company if you need your twinwall to be clean and transparent.

The pictures of the items on web site don't match what is supplied, the staff were unhelpful and wanted to charge me to return the items that wasn't what they were meant to be. Called up 3 times about my delivery and they didn't return my call at all . Rude and in helpful -10

Hi I am sorry that you are unhappy with the photo's on the website, you will note that it is the same image on all of the anthracite board widths, and this is common practice in our marketplace. The delivery charge was £29.95 and had not arrived a week later when we went on holiday to the US, grown up children still at home. I received various cross messages that we were not in for delivery and would not answer the phone (7 hour time difference so often nighttime in America). Eventually delivery was made 4 weeks after ordering. The Product was scratched.

Thank you for your feedback however I feel I need to give an accurate reply as to the events. You placed you order on 22/08/16 and we dispatch you order and attempted to deliver it on the 2/09/16 which was the 10th day so the last day of our advised 5-10 day delivery time. We contacted you about delivery and you advised that someone would be at home. However when we attempted the delivery there was no one at home. Our driver called me and explained he could not leave the delivery and that you had an arch way down the side of the house and the sheets would not fit through. We tried to call the number on the order but got no answer. I must point out at this point you never once told us you would be on holiday in the USA and not able to answer the phone due to time difference or provide us with a contact number for someone who could take the delivery. We also send emails and text messages advising of delivery. Looking through all the notes on your order and due to the fact we had already attempted delivery your order was put on hold until we could contact you and arrange for someone to be there and check the access. Having spoken to the driver he advises me that delivery had to be made through an alternative access the items were in good condition. We always allow our customers to check the goods before accepting any delivery that's why we make deliveries on our own transport. The £29.95 delivery charge is based on the size of the products your ordered (3.5M x 2.1M) this cost no way reflects the true cost of delivery especially when you make a 200 mile round trip and the customer is not at home. You children were not at home when our driver knocked on the front door? There is only so much we can do and are sorry that we did not meet your expectation but not responding to emails, texts or phone calls makes it very difficult for us to offer a service to meet your expectations.

This review is the current status as I've been sent a request to write a review and I still haven't received the product. Hopefully they will solve the problem then I can update the review. Has not been delivered. Got a phone call and email from what I assume is one of their manufacturing offices saying that they've received it back but without a cover note and want to know what is going on.... I've no idea what is going on - they've never delivered it to me! and obviously I've never returned it to them. tried to call their number but got put through to a different location and cant get through to the number they gave me. have replied by email. hopefully they will sort it out and I can update the review... UPDATE - 4 weeks later no product, have asked for a refund.

W07120633 I recently received a delivery of fixing screws and eaves fillers for onduline sheets. The order was delivered by Yodel the following day and left with a neighbour but instead of 2 packs of fillers there was only 1. I phoned your customer services and was told that a check would be made and they would phone me back. After 3 hours had passed I phoned again and was told that the person assembling my order definitely packed 2 sets of fillers but stock numbers would be checked and they would phone me back. Nothing, I don't know how much I spent on the 2 lengthy phone calls but I'm writing it off. Very disappointed.

Sorry you are disappointed with our response however I have also checked the order and spoken to the packer and both the paperwork and the packer show the items as picked. I would also like to say that we DO NOT use yodel as a carrier and never have done. Due to and increase in claims in the past we made changes to our picking and packing system that adds another level of over check to ensure items are picked correctly, we had to make these changes as it is unfortunate that in todays society not everyone is honest. These changes give me the confidence that the items are picked and packed however we always advise our customer to check what they are signing for whether it is delivered on our own transport or carrier. if the packaging is damaged or open then you should reject the delivery.

I PURCHASED 12 ITEMS NECESSARY TO PUT UP A CARPORT. OF THESE ITEMS ONLY 6 WERE CORRECT ON RECIEPT. IT TOOK NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO SORT THIS MATTER OUT. EVEN THEN EXCEPT FOR THE INTERVENSION OF BONNY I WOULD HAVE BEEN SENT INCORRECT ITEMS. IT WAS EXPLAINED THAT THE PICKER HAD SOMEHOW PICKED MY ITEMS FROM 3 DIFFERENT DESIGNS. ON THAT BASIS ALONE I QUESTION YOUR METHOD OF QUALITY CONTROL. DUE TO HOLIDAYS I CANNOT COMPLETE THIS CARPORT AND LOOK FORWARD WITH DREAD TO SEEING WHAT ITEMS YOU HAVE SENT ME TO COMPLETE.

I have looked into your order and would like to clarify a few things. Your order was changed by you and unfortunately one of the items was not updated correctly (not 3 designs or 6 items) The problem came with the small accessories as the wrong box got dispatched as your order had already been picked before it got changed. I have reviews our procedures and it appears we tried to get the changes through the system as quick as possible to avoid delaying your order. This resulted in the a member of staff breaking procedures, although this was for the best intentions it is what resulted in the error. I have informed all members of staff that the procedures are there for a reason and trying to cut corners to satisfy the customer can and often results in mistakes. Sorry for the problems caused

Made purchase of roof tiles from Kent branch, very, very disappointed with the service received. Took several telephone calls to receive a quote, several phone calls to arrange delivery to which with advanced time frame had to arrange our own courier. Staff seemed very confused as to how collection is to be made when courier arranged by ourselves and with all effort to do this made on our part. Every member of staff spoken to gave different answers to the same questions leading to large confusion. Very frustrating, difficult and disappointing experience.

I have looked into your order and the points you have raised to not add up. You were given 4 different quotations over 2 days the order was processed 3 days later once the BACS payment had cleared. From my understanding you were unhappy with the lead time for delivery (up to 10 days) so you chose to make the collection by your own carrier. I really do not understand why you feel the need to give a one star review when we supplied the quotations as requested, processed the order for collection and had it ready for the carrier to collect. The only thing that was required was the BACS payment as you can not pay by credit card for third party collections and the staff member needed to check that it was ok to accept BACS for the collection. No confusion just ensuring the correct information was given to the customer. I am sorry you feel that our high level of service is not to you satisfaction and should you wish for me to investigate further then please email me @ cs@cabp.co.uk with a more detailed breakdown of your complaint and i will be more than happy to conduct another investigation Darren

I ordered 4 x 1.5m 10mm sheets of plastic roofing, 3 were as advertised. The 4th was a cm short. On complaining that I had obviously been given the off-cut from the end of a larger sheet, I was given 2 options:- 1)Wait for weeks for it to be convenient for them to collect it to get a refund. 2) Get a £10 refund and I could keep the sheet that was to small for purpose. Putting the loss of £14.69 down to experience.

We are sorry that you feel unhappy with the options we offered you at the time. It was explained that the 1.5M sheets are all cut out or a larger sheet and unfortunately due the the saw blade width when it came to the last cut this left the final sheet short. This does not normally happen as all the 6M sheets are at least 10 to 15mm oversize and when we make 3 cuts to produce the 1.5M long sheets this is not normally a problem. We were happy to exchange the sheet for another however this would on the next delivery run because 1.5M x 2.5M single 10mm sheets do not travel well on a courier and its unlikely to have reached you in a usable condition. The offer of a £10 refund was if you could use the sheet and you ACCEPTED this in good faith. I do not feel the 1 star review warranted as we offered you the option to exchange or some money off you DID NOT have to accept this refund?

Waited ten days for tape to arrive, not very helpful person at end of the phone when I enquired about my missing order. Said he would phone me back as he was dealing with a customer. So what was I?? Needless to say he did not telephone me back. I now think I have been charged twice for this order.

Thank you for your feed back, i have looked into your order and i am sorry that it took us longer than normal to make the delivery. The delay was unfortunately due to more than one issue that compounded the situation these included staffing holidays and vehicle breakdown which had a knock on effect to our delivery schedule. When this happens we always look to put deliveries onto carriers however your order was was 3 x 4M long sheets and due to the flexible nature of the 10mm polycarbonate these are not suitable. We try to deliver as many of our products on our own vehicles to avoid damage that is extremely common with external carriers and the down side of this can sometimes result in a delay when things go wrong. If we had put it on a carrier then it is highly likely the sheets would have been damaged and would then requiring a replacement. Sorry again for the delay in your delivery please be assured that we do take your comments seriously regardless of order value, size and location but i am sure you will fully understand the logistics of making deliveries throughout the UK will sometimes result in delays due to unforeseen circumstances.
