Ordered on a Monday with a note to say it was urgent. They forgot to despatch the item until I chased on the Thursday. No apology and they charged £25 for the delivery in the first place. I would not recommend these guys to anyone, the late delivery has caused me lots of problems.

Thank you for your feedback however i would like to confirm you have infact reviewed the right company and order. I have looked at your recent order and some of your comments do not add up. 1) It does NOT contain any information regarding it being urgent 2) We do not have a £25 delivery charge 3) Order received late on the 9th and we despatched your order on the 10th. 3) DX Freight tried to deliver on the 11th But carded as no one at address. Please feel free to contact us to discuss this reply and hopefully we can understand what actually happened as your chain of events does not match any of the order tracking information. Darren C & A

one panel had a few white patches of something and the corners looked like they had been dropped.

Thank you for the review Looking up form your email you had 10mm polycarbonate sheets 1.5m long qty 4. This is the first we have heard of a "few white patches" and without looking at them we would not know what that may be, if you can send in some photos we can then look into this. Off the top of our heads with the weather being very wet and cold, this may well be condensation which then clears. C & A Building Products

Charged £30+ to deliver one sheet 3 miles from the Gillingham base. Called to see if this could be reduced due to the same price being “national”. Replied with, “no mate, it is what it is”. Won’t be back. I can get the same product nationally without the tatty “F” you attitude.

Dear William Hope Thanks for taking the time to write this review, you did indeed ask one of our staff to break the procedures and you then emailed in to complain about it on the 5th September that you wold not get free delivery. We responded and explained the situation and all this was of course prior to any purchase and you still decided to purchase from us instead of these supposed other companies. You also had the option to collect the item from the store and saving the delivery fee, which does not cover the costs of actually delivering the item, but you still purchased because you know its amazing value and all you are bitter about is that you tried to haggle and we stuck to the company policies so we are consistent to everyone. We can not help but think this upset is rooted elsewhere and hope that whatever is truly causing your underlying feelings of being upset in general are resolved for you, and wish you all the best for your future. Corrugated sheets cut poorly; massive chips, chunk on edges, not cut square and having ordered 8 sheets, none of them where the same length. Stickers on the sheets where ridiculously difficult to remove; the glue residue left behinds is unpleasant. I would suggest you do not apply these stickers. Disappointed. Dissatisfied.

Hi Thank you for the feedback. We will pass this on to the manufacturers, and we have suggested this to them previously in regards to the stickers. These thinner grade 0.8mm are infact the same ones found in most of the country as the manufacturer has a virtual monopoly on the supply and is something that is common across all the 0.8mm PVC corrugated in the UK. The product does still win hands down on being the cheapest way for roofing, but may also be why there has been a rise in popularity of the stronger polycarbonate corrugated sheets in both the trade and DIY markets. The item not only came nearly a week late, but it came in the incorrect colour as the colour that's detailed on their website, they don't sell... We were told that we'd have to pay £100.00 for the fact that THEY had made a mistake ! Dreadful service.

Having been give such a low score it would be only right to clarify the points you raised. You stated your order was a week late when actually it was not and was delivered within the time scale quoted and shipped by the courier on the same day you purchased the items. You said the trims are the wrong colour, if you took the time to read the description you would see it states the colour varies from that shown due to the manufacturing process uses recycled material. The reason for this that it is a starter trim and hidden BEHIND the cladding boards so can not be seen therefore the colour does not matter. In the phone conversation you admitted you were not using the trim for what it was designed for. We informed you that you could return the item however you demanded we replace the trims immediately on a special same day courier. Sometimes we understand that we can not please everyone which is why you have the option to return the items you chose not to? We are sorry that you feel we have let you down on this occasion we would advise going forward you read the information and use the materials for the job intended then this types of problems will not happen.

Purchased 2 sheets of plastic on 14th July. Never received them. Reached out asking for a dispatch date, got blanked. Still haven't received anything to this day. TX on my bank statement shows as complete (i.e. they took the money but didn't send what I ordered). Avoid.

We are sorry you have left a 1 star review and i have looked into this and can confirm your order was despatched by tuffnells courier. With regards to your comments, we have not been able to find any records of you ever contacting us. I have checked emails and your email address returned no results. You say you TX us i presume this is texted however i do not know what number you would have texted as we have a landline number which is staffed during the day and also has an out of hours voice mail service which you could have left a message on. Once again sorry that you feel you have been ignored but believe this could have been resolved very easily with a phone call or email.

Hi I have looked up your order from the reference. You ordered the materials online and specified what you required, which appears to be the order you are referring to in the first part of the review. However you then order sheet closures for the sheets that you had not ordered originally, and the correct closures were sent for the sheets ordered to ensure correct installation of them on both sides of the sheets. From your comments I assume you are therefore trying to install them on the bottom end of the sheets only, and I can see from notes from where you called in that you were aggressive and rude on the phone that you wanted to return items because you were not installing them correctly. The very same sheet closures you missed from the original order and we dispatched our urgently for you Clearly you are upset, but taking your errors and frustrations out on us while we try to help you means we are infect glad we will not have to deal The Handyman Can’t. Keep safe and we hope life gets better for you. C & A Building Products

My order wasn’t made until two days after it was taken and paid for, there wasn’t any communication on when my order was going to arrive with yourselves, even though I had asked to be kept informed. Once my order had arrived via courier to yourselves, it was not booked in for delivery as a priority and I only found this out once I had called yourselves...yet again! Having been told that there wouldn’t be a delivery on the same day, I was told that the materials were at your depot if I wanted them. When we arrived at your depot there were 4 vehicles sitting idle in the yard, each of them being more than capable of carrying my goods, I have photographic proof of this and will be emailing senior management to lodge a formal complaint very soon.

Hi Blaize Services Thank you for the review, we are sorry to hear you are upset. Clearly speed was of the essence for your job and not enough time scales were provided in your materials resource planning. We are working as diligently as possible to get items out in a covid secure manor and this does slow things down, on top of unprecedented demand that is mentioned everywhere in the news, and we have been informing customers of this. As part of this we did offer you to collect the items once arrived and this is what you have done. It is not unusual to have vehicles in the yard as you said. This is for many reasons as some will be for loading for the following days deliveries and others will be in for maintenance and servicing to ensure they are roadworthy and not dangerous. This is vey common with all transport companies who operate significant numbers of vehicles and deliveries. These tasks do not happen by magic without the vehicle it involves. In your message it also states you will be emailing senior management, but I can see from the extensive notes that you have already been dealing with some of the most senior people already. We can see you have only ever had repeated successful transactions for products that are off the shelf over 2020, but these special order items that take longer and are dependent on others has failed to meet your expectations. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors which will clearly be elsewhere. C & A Building Products

Very poor customer aftersales problems. Two items missing from delivered ordered but not noticed until started erection. Total value of £17 against a £1700 order. No problem, I thought but charged another £35 as I was past their 2 day deeadline. When all bits look very similar you cannot possible know if anything is missing until erection. Why would anyone try to rip C&A off for £17, when the fault is theirs. Leaves a very sour taste and having explained my position with their Manager Chris, who ignored any reasoned arguement, I would not ever recommend C&A Building Products solely for their aftersales. Buy local is my recommendation where people help out!!

Thank you for the time leaving a review, we are sorry that you feel aggrieved by the policies that are in place to prevent potential fraudulent activities. From looking up your order it is clear that the items were delivered a month ago, clearly we are unable to determine what has happened on site for all of the length of time. It is not unusual for materials to go missing from sites, misplaced on sites or even cut incorrect. Under general statutory legislation the time of responsibility is at the time of hand over of materials, and you will find the majority of companies use this and give no additional time to check over the materials, for example every carrier firm with the signing to say goods are received complete and in good condition. We understand that this is not always convenient for our customers and so allow an industry leading 72 hours in which to check over the delivery which is more than enough time to run through the parts delivered on even the largest of orders. If any company were to replace free of charge all items that are lost, stolen or damaged while in the care and duty of a customer they would either have to charge exceptional premiums to all customers for the products initially (and risk becoming un-competitive and losing some or all trade) or they would simply be unsustainable from such losses and fold. We clearly state the terms and conditions on the email confirmation and on the website, and you have to confirm you have read the T&C’s and agreed to them prior to purchase online (which you have done) We fully understand your sentiment of wishing to buy local, and local stockists do purchase these products and resell them to customers (or install) who have not discovered us. They often take the delivery in and check it over prior to re-dispatching to their own customer, but they add their premium / margin for handling and doing these services. As for listening to a reasoned argument, this review you have posted ignores the fact that we did explain why we have such policies, how our policies are in excess of legislation and most of the competition, but it seems you did not wish to listen to or accept these reasoned arguments (same as listed above). Given you feel like you have sour taste in the mouth, we hope that this will pass and you enjoy the flavors and prices offered by your local company you wish to use in future. Refused entry without a mask even though medical restrictions make me exempt. Was told by staff that the bosses didn’t care and are very firm that if you have no mask then you don’t get served.

Hi Thank you for the time for making a review. We have worked throughout the pandemic and do indeed have procedures to keep our customers and staff safe during these times. There are a number of ways to purchase from us, which you have done which do not require entering the building and wearing a mask. These include: *Online for collection (which you did). *Over the phone for delivery or collection. *Single Shop Occupancy (but this can involve extended wait times). We do insist on the face covering in store where you may come into contact with other members of the public and this is a health and safety issue for both you and those you may come in contact with, which is why we offer suitable alternative methods of purchase, and those with a genuine condition have all been very appreciative of this and how we have handled the situations as they occur. We have had hundreds of very positive reviews about our safety policies and that we are keeping people safe much better than many shops including supermarkets. At this time we believe everyone should be considerate of others, patient, and forthright in their convictions for keeping everyone safe. It is unfortunate that some people will claim to be exempt but are not, and we have called the bluff of several which ensures we continue to operate in a safe manor. We look forward to your future click and collect or telephone orders where everyone can stay safe. Yours C & A

Hi Mr Anonymous Thank you for taking the time to write a review, unfortunatly it is lacking in any details of what it is you are talking about. I am going to assume that you may well be one of the customers who has ordered materials that are having issues from the manufacturers. These are industry wide supply chain issues thanks to Covid and affect all companies. From what you are saying it sounds as if your gripe is really with Covid-19 and its wider effects rather than our own performance, as we have been trading throughout the pandemic in a safe and secure way and getting great reviews. Your comment that there are no others that supply this material i think is an indication as to them having even more difficulties than we are given our tier 1 supply status with most manufacturers and our ability to have large stock holdings that help to even out some of the supply chain issues. Thank you for you review and the points raised. We have been operating throughout the lock down and never closed all our staff are extremely busy servicing orders that have been booked online , by email and over the phone. Unfortunately the phones are extremely busy and even with remote workers keeping up with calls is not possible all of the time. We have introduced lots of changes over the last few months and one of these is the automated phone service, if you wait in the que someone will answer your call. The website site works fine and going by your feed back it is obvious that you did not select the collection branch, you need to do this if you do not do this then you can not pay for your order. We are not like many other companies who have a small unit only servicing the local area but we are delivering all over the UK and processing hundreds of orders a day which requires a large number of staff. I have looked at our call logs and can say that yesterday we answered more than 150 phone calls. To ensure our staff and customers are safe we are abiding by the government guide lines and ensuring social distancing, Whilst some people may find this less than convenient we take the risk of infection seriously and this means that measures in place do add addition time to order picking and processing whilst staff wash their hands, clean their work areas and equipment. It's not a case of brining more staff back its a case of people accepting things are not how they used to be. The reason you have seen the Boss in the yard is because both MD are processing sales, answering calls and picking and packing along with serving customers on the collection side of things. Everyone at C&A is working long hours and many need a break as they have worked throughout the last four months supplying materials to all industries including NHS, Care Homes, Dentists, Government Bodies, Shops, Pubs etc who have all been extremely grateful of the service we have provided during lock down.

I ordered materials for the hospital and reserved people to install, but unfortunately, get a call on Friday morning with the message that my materials will be delivered on Monday instead of Friday. No apologise or try to arrange courier delivery.

Hello I am very sorry that we haven't met your timescale , but I feel it is a little unfair to say we didn't apologise. The order was placed on the 6/7/2020 online and that you had read and agreed to the delivery timescales but we actually were attempting to get this order to you on Friday 10/7/2020 sadly I called you to explain the our driver had called in sick and was unable to do the delivery run and that we had re arranged the whole delivery schedule for next week to get these goods out on Monday. I do understand that you are working to dead lines however we do say that at the moment delivery times can run slightly longer but I honestly thought that from you placing an order on the internet at 14.40 on 6th July and us even attempting to arrange a delivery for fri 10th was better than stated delivery schedules. We to are working under immense pressure supplying goods to all sectors including the NHS throughout the whole pandemic and lock down whilst having as little as 30% of the staff at times to ensure safe working practices for both our staff and customers. Again I am sorry we didn't meet your expectations on this we do attempt to pre plan but sadly there are cases were forward planning falls down. We do offer a click and collect service which you could have used if the products are required urgently which is something many of our customers have used and actually prefer, our delivery schedule is made clear on our website and does involve a degree of preplanning by our customer when materials are required by a certain time. The information was clearly posted on the website so all I can do I apologise if this was not clear enough

`i bought it and paid, which you took out within a couple of days, but it was nearly 3 weeks before you delivered my goods, i could of caught buses or trains, come and picked it up my self and still got back before you delivered, the only comunication i got off you other than just before you delivered was when i phoned up to find out where it was. very bad service and vey bad communication, i will never order again from this company.

Products are absolutely fine, but the delivery date anytime in the next 15 days is ridiculous, unworkable and downright unprofessional. I suggest you farm out the delivery to a professional courier company. I took hundreds of pounds from a old lady and when she asked me when I would fit, I couldn't give her a date, making me look like a rogue trader...

Having looked at the extensive notes on this order, firstly it was not your order but it looks like it was a relations (wife etc) There are many notes from various team members about the abusive language directed at them by yourself and they have a right not to be abused or potential put into an abusive situation. This all appears to stem from the issue of a sheet (1 of 4) having some damage. This however is after the items being in your care and on site for a week and past the checking period, and after you signing that they are all in good condition. Our staff are not here to be abused, and we do not free issue material that has been damaged on site by customers while in their care as this would disadvantage those who are genuine. We look forward to you buying from another outlet to ensure our staff are not verbally abused.

Hello firstly thank you for taking the time to leave a review, I would just like to answer some points you raised. Firstly your order was placed on our website at 15.46 on Friday 20th, sadly our carrier collects from us at 15.00 meaning the latest we can do for next working day is 14.00 (time to wrap and label etc). Secondly the order left our store on our next working day (Monday 23rd) this was collected from us via TNT carrier on the same day. Lastly on checking TNT I can see the items were delivered to site next day (Tuesday 24th) and signed for at 11.32am. I understand that you feel let down by the lead time however as you can see we honestly actioned as a "next working day" delivery to the best of our ability. Hope this helps answer some of the points you had raised? Yours C & A
