Founded with mullets and a mission by students in the 60's, BUNAC has been running its legendary Summer Camp USA program since 1972. From coaching soccer to teaching crafts - it’s the chance to turn your passion into a paid job, impact the lives of children and young people, and spend the summer living in epic locations with the best 18-30s you’ve ever met. And because 5% of profits go to our Youth Access Scholarship Fund, you can travel happy knowing that BUNAC works for others too.

“When I wanted to work at a summer camp in another country at first I was really confused as to how the whole process worked or where to start. After a few research, I found BUNAC, and had my first meeting eith Róisín. She was really kind and has been helping me with all my questions. So to anyone looking for an agency to start working with, this is your sign! They have made me feel nothing but comfortable since the beggining. Can't wait for my first time as a summer camp staff!”

“I arrived in Auckland a week ago and was warmly welcomed. In no time New Zealand felt like a second home. Thanks to bunec and especially Sharyn, the group quickly came together and now almost feels like family to me.Thank you so much for the wonderful experience and 24/7 support!!”

“The team was very helpful when planning to get down to New Zealand. Lots of helpful information and tips through the whole process. Initially arriving in NZ was great as Sharyn Hight was very comforting and welcoming and made everything easy. She looks out for everyone and does what she can to make sure everyone gets what they need.”

“Traveling alone to the other end of the world for the first time makes you question a lot. There is a lot of information on the internet, sometimes too much to know where to start. But none of this information will really help you in the first few days like BUNAC, especially Sharyn Hight from the New Zealand project made you feel welcome straight away. All questions were answered, even those that came up later as you keep them as contact person. Furthermore, you meet many who are in the same boat and and that's how many traveling groups were born.”

“I booked the Working Holiday program with BUNAC and was quite unsure if it will meet my needs. But now I can say that is was a very good decision to book with BUNAC. From the beginning of the trip to now enjoying the first adventures here in New Zealand Sharyn helped me with literally every problem occurred. You can mail her or even call her at any time and she will try her best for you. And Lachlan is the guy who has an answer on nearly every question no matter if it's travel tips, accomodation tips or anything else. Really enjoyed the first few days here in NZ with BUNAC.”

“The orientation week was very useful. We got many important tips and were perfectly guided through the IRD. Sharyn prepared us perfectly and was very friendly. Even after the first week you can always turn to her, which is a very big help.”

“Absolutely great support from Sharyn from the get go, I honestly do not know how that women provides the support she does. She was always there to answer any emails I had before I had arrived in New Zealand, greeted with a hug when we first met face to face and always so nice and polite. Since leaving the 4 day experience at BUNAC, Sharyn has constantly provided support by sending jobs all over the country, recommendations of places to stay and nice messages. The only way I would say BUNAC could improve is more games/ice breakers to start with. I don't think many of us felt that comfortable with each other until day 3/4 which was a shame as we were all leaving soon afterwards. I think the activities needed to be at the beginning or have more activities like games of pool/bowling etc.”

“I was really scared when I first decided to make the move to NZ but the BUNAC team couldn’t have been more helpful from start to finish. The team before I left were brilliant and answered all of my silly questions without hesitation. When I arrived in New Zealand Sharyn and Lachlan were so helpful and funny and made me feel so much better about this massive decision I had made. Whether it was helping with bank accounts, IRD numbers or looking over my CV they made time for everyone and helped in any way they could. I genuinely don’t think I could have done half of this stuff without their support. I have also met such an amazing bunch of people out here and I hope we will stay in touch whilst we are all here.”

“I had a virtual meeting with Jessie a couple of weeks ago and she was so informative! I have been on the search for a working abroad opportunity the past few months and I have to say BUNAC has definitely been one of the more trustworthy organisations when it comes to organising your work and travel experience. I managed to see Jessie via Microsoft Teams at a time that suited me and I didn't need to wait long for the appointment availability either!”

“My first intend to go with BUNAC was just to be lazy and on the safe side in terms of the admin stuff. But from the first (online) meeting with Sharyn Hight of the NZ programme I felt welcomed. The start of your working holiday adventure could be challenging and a lot at some point. And it turned out that to go with BUNAC was one of my better decisions! Sharyn was and still is so helpful whenever she can! I struggled a lot with my IRD on the beginning and Sharyn was "holding my hand" through this whole process. A few month later I proudly could call Sharyn my boss while I was helping her with the orientation weeks in Auckland. So I do know both sides of the coin. BUNAC is not only a company but more like a little (meanwhile bigger and steadily growing family). I met the loveliest bunch of people thanks to BUNAC and Sharyn that I can proudly call my friends. Yay for Sharyn!”
