About BUNAC:

Founded with mullets and a mission by students in the 60's, BUNAC has been running its legendary Summer Camp USA program since 1972. From coaching soccer to teaching crafts - it’s the chance to turn your passion into a paid job, impact the lives of children and young people, and spend the summer living in epic locations with the best 18-30s you’ve ever met. And because 5% of profits go to our Youth Access Scholarship Fund, you can travel happy knowing that BUNAC works for others too.

“We did the work and travel orientation in New Zealand with the lovely Sharyn. It was really helpful and fun at the same time. Sharyn always looked after us and brought a lot of positive energy to the group.”

“I started my application with bunac I put in my bank details they took €55 euro out of my account never send a confirmation about this and didn’t make a account for me I’m really disappointed with the process I’ve tried emailing them multiple times they haven’t got in touch”

Hi, thank you for leaving your review. Having looked further into this for you, we can see that we have been communicating with you concerning the process since June. After completing your payment on the programme, your account is set up automatically and we understand this did not happen straight away for you due to a technical issue. Unfortunately the emails you sent after booking where out of office hours and therefore as soon as we got back in the morning we actioned your emails and fixed the overnight technical issue to ensure you received your welcome email and next steps. We apologies that this has left you feeing disappointed. The BUNAC Team.

“I have mixed feelings about bunac. They helped us get our visa because we needed some form we didn’t have time to get. Yeah it’s good to have the support and someone to speak to about any queries. But it’s very expensive for not a lot, when you can get every answer from Google! We paid £1000 each essentially for just a visa. When we finally booked our flights their accomodation was full and we could only stay if we paid a further £500 each! We’re not using them to open bank accounts etc because a job we found does that. We don’t have pickup from the airport because we don’t arrive on the correct day.. I just wouldn’t recommend using them unless you really had too!”

Hi there, we are sorry to hear your experience was mixed. We can see from our records that we have tried to contact you within the given period to get a confirmation of your accommodation. Once this is beyond the 4 week accommodation tends to fill and unfortunately, until we have this confirmation from you, we cannot book the spots. It's not a problem if you do not wish to use all the program inclusions. You will still have access to the full 1-on-1 job support for the length of your visa, in case you wish to change jobs and the team will also be there for any in country support, including sorting your tax and registrations. “Honestly I cannot rave about BUNAC enough. The experience I received was second to none and I'm already in the process of applying for my second visa for this upcoming summer!! I always has contact in my application period, and even when I was at camp, any question asked was answered quite often the same day, taking the stress off my back. The chance I got to work at the most beautiful camp, and meet some amazing people, all during my first time in America was madness, even travelling from new York to LA!! I cannot wait for next summer!”

“I haven't even managed to get any service. No-one ever answers the phone or I have to wait 2 weeks for a video call to answer my questions. I shall use a company who wants to help.”

“Ellie was fantastic! After writing an email at first with some general enquiries, I decided to book a video meeting with Ellie to dive deeper into the Work Australia programme. Ellie was able to answer every question I had and filled me with a lot more confidence to take the leap of faith and start my journey down under. If you are still not sure about whether or not to start your journey, I'd highly recommend booking a video meeting with one of the staff as they will be able to answer any enquiries you have. I'm now in the process of realising my dream to move to Australia and if I can do it, then anyone can!”

“I spoke to Ellie to discuss moving abroad with the working holiday visa. She was great and answered all the questions I had. If you are unsure of anything about your trip I highly recommend setting up a video call!”

“I have just moved to New York from NZ on the J1. There are lots of steps and documents to fill out - the service helps you stay on track the whole way from initial consult, to pre departure, to arrival in your new city of choice. The process was streamlined and made so much more clear with the help of the team at BUNAC, and especially Jessie who was always so enthusiatic and thorough when answering my queries. I gave 4 stars because the phone lines are always busy, so they're not as reliable during emergencies. However the team always checks their emails and replies very quickly. Overall would highly recommend them for anyone wishing to do the J1.”

“Bunac was such a fab way to follow my dreams of working at a summer camp! It was a fairly easy process with them. My only qualm was that I was applying outside of the UK so didn’t have access to any of the camp fairs so I was advised to accept the first offer I was given remotely. Luckily for me it worked well and I went back for three summers! Shoutout to Roisin who is a fab help”
