“Fast delivery, a book designer that is easy to use and still allows advanced features, great quality. Costs a bit more than some. Of the competition but I think it's well worth the spend”

“Process marred by problems with Bob Designer and very mediocre (not what I'd call photographic) print quality on Classic pages. Not helped by surley customer services and refusal (or inability) to discuss the tech aspects of their printing versus photographic processes. Eventually resolved by paying for upgrade to Photographic paper - the difference is night and day even though nothing on the website alludes to this. Overall result on photographic pages was excellent, though hard back cover was still a mediocre print process, but finally a satisfactory photo book... It seems to me that this company, and perhaps the industry as a whole, is turning down print quality below what their equipment can do in order to maximise throughout and profit, giving printed results not worthy of being called a photo book... It seems that only choosing the dearer pages triggers them to actually use processes and settings that give photographic quality in a book.”

Hello Brendan, Thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback. I am so sorry you were not happy with your Classic paper book. I can see from your correspondence with our Customer Service team that there was an issue with low resolution images, and you also advised that some of your images were 25MB. This is quite large and our system would compress this down. This may have been why your original images appeared grainy. Our Classic, Gloss-coated and Matte paper are digitally printed, where as our photographic papers are exposed. This information as well as information about our printers is available on our site. I am so sorry if this was not given to you or pointed out to you. I am happy to hear that you are pleased with your re-print and once again apologise for any frustration caused. “I became converted to bobbooks just over a year ago. I really like the quality of their printing, and as a very keen wildlife photographer I now automatically make a bobbook as a record of each of my wildlife trips. I also find bobbooks incredibly easy to organize the layout of each page.”

“Take a bit of time to organise the photos that are to be used in the book. I made an error with the cover. To do the book justice it is necessary to devote time to the project. My cover photo ended up on the back cover! That was my fault not Bob's Books. It won't happen again! The book was a present and contained photos of a very special trip. It was much appreciated by the gift recipient!”

“I made a book for friends who had got married abroad of the two weeks twenty of us spent in South America over that time - great array of layouts and options with lots of choices of background colours etc. All laid out simply and I was thrilled when both (I ordered two of the same) arrived so swiftly and in excellent condition - everyone very happy with the result and I'll certainly be using Bob Books again!”

“Your album software, although excellent, does want modifying - 1. Have the inside of the front cover matching the front cover. 2. Get rid of the white page at the end of the album. 3. Have the inside of the back cover matching the back cover 4. The image editing effects are very poor. The only useable one is the black and white. 5. Make it easier to fade a background image. 6. The blue and orange heart frames are 'tacky'. None of the masks and frames would be welcomed by any bride and groom for their album. 7. Every time a new page is gone to, it reverts to Overlapping 2 photos per page. Can you make it so it reverts to Favourites. It does this even after following the help files to stop it reverting to Overlapping. 8. Have it so that when a user creates a Page Layout for one size of album then this layout is available for all sizes. 9. Simplify the need to have two files per album i.e. the .mcf. This is confusing especially when adding extra photographs. I hope my comments are taken as being constructive rather than destructive. I am glad you have sorted out your despatch department. Albums are no longer coming marked. I do hope this gets to the software people. Regards Roger”

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback. It is invaluable in helping us improve our services. You have made a lot of great points and these will be passed onto the relevant departs where necessary. We are working on having a choice or changing our end papers for the front and back covers, this is something we help to implement in the near future. The last page at the ned of the book will remain black, as the content pages and cover pages are printed separately. This page has a barcode on it, that makes sure the correct content page and cover page is put together and this barcode contains the information to make sure the correct book is sent to the correct customer. We do not allow this page to be designed on as the barcode will spoil the design printed on this page, for this reason it is left blank. We are always working on updating and improving our software, I will pass on your suggestions about the image editing and also the layout choice default. Having the custom layouts available for a format sizes is something I will also pass on, but please note it would not be possible to have portrait layouts available in square or landscape books, but it should be possible to have for large portrait books. Could you please give me more information about the problem you have with the 2 files. One file is your book, but the other is a folder the images used in your book. It is not possible to save this as one file. The files are saved together so should be easy to find. Could you please explain the problem you are having with this and perhaps I can help you with a solution. It is very unlikely the format will change for this. “I have now produced more than 20 Bobbooks, some with over 100 pages. There are other firms that provide the same service but Bobbooks is in a class of its own. Easy to use and the quality of reproduction is impeccable. It is also such fun making own's own pages. Martin Summers. London”

“Having never used Bobs books or any other photo book company I was worried as to how the reproduction of the photos would actually appear compared to when viewed on the computer screen, and on the quality of the paper and cover. But when it arrived,(protectively packaged so well) I was so thrilled with it, that as soon as my son is back to school in September, I am going to start work on my next one! Thank you”

“I have been using Bob Books for years and am still really happy with the quality of their products. In particular I love the lay flat photobooks as the paper is really thick and glossy. I also like the rewards scheme and there are usually offers to be had that will give you some money off.”
