“I have tried many photobooks, probably about 8, but I often find that simple tasks are made so difficult as the program over complicates things. Bob Books was easy to pick up and I like the offline download as I don't always have access to WiFi so I can get my books prepared even when I'm in a country that doesn't support it. There is still room for improvement though, like being able to add a colour or white outline to text. An important feature when placing text on top of a photo as black OR white doesn't show up clearly. I could do this on my previous Bob Book but was told by a consultant yesterday that this feature has been removed - can't imagine why! I was told I would receive a call from the Bob team explaining this but no one has called me yet.”

“The software to design book was very easy to use, I liked the backgrounds and photo placement options. I was pleased with the quality of the book, I ordered the lustre paper. I would have liked the option to order a presentation box, I think this would be popular with customers. Be careful if you add text to front cover to far left, I did, and didn't take into account the width of book seam, it's limit wasn't shown in software, so my title was a little too far over that. I also don't like the blank page at back of book, it looks odd.”

“Once I got the hang of it, it was easy to upload the photos and edit them on line. The end product was a lot better than expected and the birthday present was a huge success. In fact, thinking of making another book in the next few months of a more recent holiday in Morocco. Thanks.”

Hello Robert, Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. The new Photos software by Apple that replaces the previous iPhoto version is something we are working on to ensure the same compatibility as with our software. In the mean time you can simply export your chosen photos into a folder saved on your desktop and import this into the software. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards, Bob Books

“The new app for making photo books from mobile phones is fabulous! its possible to make a 30 page book in a matter of minutes. App would be even better if it was possible to make photos smaller or crop within a page. One of Bob Books unique selling points is that they offer genuine photo paper processed in wet chemicals - the picture sharpness and quality is like no other!!”

“I've used Bobbooks for a number of years now to record major holidays and family events and have been very pleased with every one of the books that I've managed to create. The system is fairly easy to use (although it takes a while to get the hang of). The quality of the final product and the delivery service is excellent.”

“I was pretty pleased with my book. The front cover looked great and I like the hardback and the paper quality. I've had two other books from you before which I loved and would have got top marks. This time there were a few photos that I felt were not well colour matched and that actually looked slightly blurred/pixelly - I went back and checked and they weren't flagged as problematic on your software. I was still really pleased with my book but I suppose those few pics slightly marred my full excitement in receiving it - which is why it's good rather than very good. Time for publishing and sending it to me was great - really quick. Thanks very much.”

“Despite increasing the brightness in the software the images in the book are always darker than ideal. This is on the standard paper so might be better if using photographic photo. That's the only negatitive as the quality of the book and image detail is excellent as this is responsiveness of the service”

“Easy to use. The only thing that annoys me is trying place text where I want it .I find I have to alter picture size to put on page. Maybe it's me!”

“I like the fact that I can create my own page template that I can use on each of my pages. This gives conformity throughout the whole book. The drag and drop feature for the pictures is very helpful, plus the fact that the red/green spot indicates the quality the image will be when printed. Adding extra pages is possible when creating the book and what is more important it tells you the extra cost.”

“I have used other companies to produce phonebooks swayed by offers on pricing. I have then come back to BobBooks. The quality of the finished item is excellent: the colours are true and the paper quality is better than others. The software gives plenty of options for backgrounds and effects: more than I have ever found necessary to use. It's also easy to learn to use it. I did encounter a problem when I tried to use the option that allows you to build your book online: I suspect that my connection was not fast/reliable enough. I switched to downloading the software and uploading the finished book and this is fast and straightforward. The book was made and dispatched very quickly, well within the time stated on the website and it arrived shrink-wrapped and carefully packed with the corners given extra protection.”

“Software for entering images is a bit clunky - it was difficult to make sure that the cover was as I wanted it. The helpline operator said I couldn't do what I wanted to - to stretch one image over front and back covers - but you can and I did - and the promised callback from her superior never came. Read all the instructions very carefully. The first book that I had made came back disastrously over sharpened. There is a box you have to tick if you don't want your images 'improved'. But after that the books were very well printed and packaged, and arrived in good time.”
