“Great items but lack of communication as to when the items would be delivered but thankfully I was at home to sign for them. Packaging was also quite poor but a quick resolution to my complaint was met by customer services.”

“The Battersea store is a real haven, full of beautiful furniture and accessories...I can't wait for its cafe to reopen too. Bought a mirror from here lately, looks gorgeous, our only criticism is that there were no instructions or fixings included for hanging it, and it was not straight forward to do so at all. The integrated loops for hanging it were not symmetrical and it took several hours and drilled holes to get it right.”

“Some customers might not give you a good mark as there has been problems. Firstly my rug had a fault And second I’m still waiting for my sofa as the material apparently was received twice but wasn’t of adequate quality to proceed. I have chosen a fabric over Messenger and hope that it proves to be to my liking. Regards Suzanne Viscal”

“Beautiful furniture but if you are in a hurry then order elsewhere. Delivery is usually months rather than weeks. Also ?59 charge for delivery on everything, even their most expensive items, which is a bit of a con. Communication is poor when orders are delayed. Also ?sales? are deceptive, have had my eye on a table for over a year, it?s ?sale? price has been the same for most of the year...bar the token few weeks where they elevate the price so it?s then technically legally on sale the rest of the time. It?s clearly not a sale, the sale price is the recommended retail price clearly. Can?t buy much in store, it?s view in store and order online, then wait for months.Even in October I couldn't get a new dining table before Christmas.Saying all that the stores are lovely, and furniture is beautiful.”

“I have bought both bedroom and dining room furniture in the past from Barker and Stonehouse and have been very pleased with the quality and service. There were however a few glitches with the floor lamp that I ordered. A table lamp was delivered by mistake and although I had been informed I would receive a call about delivery I was not. It was lucky that I was at home. I contacted the office to have a replacement but only a shade was delivered. After another call I managed to return the table lamp and receive my floor lamp base in the same day. I will say that the floor lamp is very good quality and I'm extremely pleased with it.”

“Really nice product and quick delivery, the only negative I would say is that the candelabra came in a box with no packaging at all internally, so it was more luck than anything that the wires didnt get bent in transport.”

“Ordered Purcell sofa and chair online with collection from my local store (Darlington) Items arrived within expected timeframe however chair sent was wrong so had to wait another week for correct one. Happy with both purchases however felt that staff at the store were unhelpful and uninterested in my order. I got the distinct impression that because it was an online order they were put out by having it delivered to their shop!! Disappointing and unnecessary”

“Very good website, nicely laid out and easy to navigate. The staff were very helpful when I needed to speak to them. The only issue I had was the wrong item arrived first time due to being mislabelled in the warehouse, however the customer service team quickly resolved this and arranged delivery of the correct item and return of the incorrect one at a time that suited me.”

“I recently bought the Ashton ottoman which I absolutely love and fits perfectly in my living room. The only thing stopping me giving 5 stars is the delivery time. I opted for click & collect due to being in lockdown at the time, 1) because the delivery charge was astronomical & 2) because it was in stock so thought I could get it straight away. Despite this I had to wait a week for it to become available and then a further week to collect it because of inflexible collection times. Bit frustrating but happy with my purchase”
