“Original sale paperwork was wrong, meant we waited longer than we should have done for the kitchen table etc. Putting that to one side, the quality of the furniture and delivery we are very happy with (so far). One of the delivery drivers put on the feet the wrong way around, but we sussed that quickly and fixed it. Think he was new, other guy was fine.”

“Would have been 5 out of 5 but our Mandovi coffee table has had delivery date pushed back twice. Phone calls keeping us updated have been very helpful indeed. It almost feels like once two pushbacks received then a goodwill voucher is given to sweeten the bitter pill. Could be fixed % of total cost but enough to recognise full payment was made some time ago. Other products in past all received on time from friendly delivery teams.”

“Furnitures lovely, but the delivery team was not very pleasant. Tried to buy a matching mattress and contacted the sales team several times, to get some additional advice. I was promised an email with an offer, but never received one. Finally after several calls I got a very helpful sales person and I was able to purchase a mattress to match my furniture. Unfortunately I will have to pay delivery costs twice now.”

“I have always found Barker and Stonehouse to be a very helpful retailer. We like the quality of the products and the level of service we receive. The last products we bought combined those items in stock and not, nobody informed us that the stock items would not arrive until the other which was 10 weeks. This was disappointing as we were not advised and it wasn’t until I called them that we were able to sort it out. Which we did and we received them separately”

“Had to wait for 3 weeks for the delivery after confirmation of the overdue arrival of furnitures. Unfortunately they couldn't fit in two lots of orders together as promised and had to be delivered on two different dates. At least, they informed you the day before the delivery with a two hours time slot and they arrived on time. Good service. The only comment I have is that on the second delivery, they didn't wrap the furniture with any protection. I presumed they unpacked downstairs and brought up the furniture which I thought was not very good because the furniture would have got dirty or damaged in the lift or through hallway doors. The delivery staff should have worn gloves when they carried the unwrapped furniture upstairs .”

“I really like the choice they have, and we are really happy with the table and chairs we bought. Unfortunately the table couldn't be delivered because it was broken - so we had to wait 5 months for a replacement. The furniture was for a second home, so getting delivery dates was quite difficult. However, when the table eventually came the people (who work for B&S - not the delivery company they usually use,) were excellent.”

“The vases I ordered were stunning. I went for the standard delivery, which unfortunately cost £4, they came in great time and were delivered on a Sunday which was very convenient. When they arrived they were packaged in a large box with hundreds of polystyrene peanuts, which took up half of my bin to dispose of and are really not environmentally friendly! Very unnecessary”

“I bought a dining table & 2 benches, and absolutely love them, but please be aware that on delivery the items are not packaged or in any kind of protective covering, and my tabke top had some scratches on it from the straps during transit, now, dont get me wring, i have taken this up with B&S, and have recieved an offer of replacement or refund, which i am more than happy with. But I have recieved no assurance that this wouldnt happen again, which deters me from making any more purchases from them.”

“Bought two bar stools recently in the sale on-line.Good value for money and very pleased with them. It was not clear when I ordered them that they were not stock items and had to wait just over a week for a message to collect them from store which was disappointing.”

“Lovely store, imaginatively laid out, with mood lighting and room displays. Looks warm and cosy. A leisure experience rather than horrible shopping. Helpful staff and great cafe! And we bought 4 chairs. Only issue for us is that it was on the other side of London, but not B&S problem. Would go back when and if we need new furniture. Definitely worth the trip.”
