About True Toys:

We're True Toys, an online toy shop for real families. We've been doing this for 14 years (you might know us better as BargainMax), so toys are something we genuinely know inside out.

We've just grown up a little along the way, mostly because a lot of us became parents too, and that changed how we see everything.

Delivering the true value of play

We bring together the toys families love from the big names like LEGO, Mattel and VTech to exclusive finds you won't get everywhere else, all at honest prices. But we've never believed value is only about what you spend. It's about knowing what to choose and feeling good about that choice, because behind every order is a birthday, a surprise, a milestone or a memory in the making.

“I received the wrong item when i asked for a collection of the item and my correct item to be sent i was told i had to take the item the company sent wrong to a shop where it could be sent back bad service it wasnt my error the item should have been collected from me i was then told the item i wanted was no longer in stock !!!”

“Received an item that was not fit for purpose, contacted customer services to rectify the problem and received a disappointing reply. In large black font telling me it was a manufacture issue and not theirs. I had to return the item, and pay more than the original delivery charge to do so. I received no refund on any postage, and basically reminded of the delivery charge.”

“I ordered 2 items, which said 2-4 working days delivery. 6 days later, no items, I called and they said they'd be with me the next day (2 days late already) still didn't arrive - called again, lost in post! - got refund, but not a reliable service, especially as was for my son's birthday - won't use Bargainmax again.”

“This company sold me an item that the illustration showed the product with it's English packaging. When the item arrived it was a foreign version and completely useless. I sent my issue via there contact page but received the sort of stock answer I have come to expect from this sort of company. I will not be purchasing anything from them again and would urge caution to anyone considering making a purchase from Bargain max.”

“I purchased Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice Laser Battle Set for my sons birthday and it didn't work properly from day 1. I contacted Bargain Max and after a week was told to phone the manufacturer directly. After numerous phone calls and e-mails plus paying postage to return the product I still don't have a working replacement 8 weeks on! Great prices but really poor customer service, never in my life have I been asked to deal with a manufacturer directly with a faulty item. Its cost me money and so much time its totally not worth the saving I made on buying this from Bargain Max rather than Argos or Toys R Us. I wont buy from them again.”

“I brought some lovely gifts for my daughters birthday. Waited for over a week and didn't arrive. When phoned they said parcel had been delivered. They obviously don't use very good couriers as I never received and had one very disappointed little girl. The only positive was they were quick in issuing a refund”

“Unfortunately my order did not arrive. I ordered from New Zealand in September to be delivered to Scotland. As I did not arrive in Scotland until Christmas Day I did not know that my present for my daughter did not turn up. As I can find no invoice or confirmation of my order by email, or any way of finding my order online I cannot check out what happened. This is the first time I have had internet connection on my holiday.”

“When my item turned up it looked like it had been kicked around the floor badly! I emailed them pictures and explained it was a christmas present i needed it collected and returned ASAP... No reply I then tried ringing them, they are not even open over Christmas, How can a company like this do that... The time they are probably most busiest they're shut!”

“Did not receive the item I ordered in plenty of time for xmas after constant phone calls and emails chasing the order was told I could re-order 23rd for next day xmas eve delivery as parcel was finally declared lost in transit When re-ordering a replacement was told would arrive after xmas which was obviously not what I was told previously i was refunded money paid which arrived after xmas so no present for my grandson and no money refunded in time to buy a replacement Dissatisfied and disappointed”

“I'm not impressed! An item was missing from my delivery and on trying to contact the company, I have heard nothing! They were quick enough to take the money but obviously not concerned at all as to weather or not their customers actually receive the item they paid for!”
