“We booked a 10 day holiday in Montenegro and Croatia with Balkan Escape. The Service we received was excellent from the initial enquiry. They even offered a change of hotel in advance when ongoing roadworks would have disrupted our holiday. We would not hesitate to use them again.”

“I would highly recommend Balkan Escapes from the initial enquiry to the minute the holiday had ended, it was excellent service . I compared prices with other operators and Balkan was still cheaper . I thought the day trip ideas were very helpful, to the email saying our flight was delayed by 10 mins. “We had a great holiday in Croatia and everything Jack had sorted for us worked well, ran smoothly and was of a high standard. The Hotels he recommended were excellent ( he even changed one at the last minute due to building work) and all the transfers went very smoothly . It was reassuring to know everything had been sorted beforehand and made it all less stressful. With hindsight we wished we had not finished in Split , as that was the busiest place ( and extremely hot) and we personally preferred the quieter islands . We also made the mistake of thinking it would be ok to walk to the hotels with our suitcases. It was just too hot and there was a slight uphill climb to both. Overall the holiday was brilliant and we would definitely recommend Balkan Escapes and use them again.”

“From start to finish, Jack was brilliant at recommending places and was very prompt and patient coming back to me with all my questions. even when I encountered trouble abroad needing medical attention and Jack was very helpful when I needed to change my booking. It made me change my mind instead of booking independently to always use a travel agent like Balkan for when things don’t always go to plan. I highly recommend Balkan and Croatia!”

“We had a wonderful time in Croatia and Montenegro. Jack did a brilliant job of putting together a bespoke itinerary that was just what we wanted. His hotel recommendations were spot on and the flights, car transfers and ferries bookings were great. All six of the family really enjoyed it. The only tiny quibble was that the car transfer company was late twice and we only just made one ferry by the skin of our teeth.”

“* Did you feel that your holiday needs and requirements were met? Yes * Was your accommodation/transfers as you had expected? All the accommodation booked was clean and well presented. They were all in good locations for what we wanted to do while we were there. * How was the service provided by Balkan Escape? Lacked a little bit of attention to detail i.e. when we changed our plans to a different island the information pack for the new was never included. The format of the confirmation email of all the different bookings (we were visiting four different locations) could be structured clearer. * Would you book through Balkan Escape again, and would you recommend us to friends/family? We would book through them again and recommend them to friends and family however you should not do this last minute as it takes time to get the itinerary correct. Balkan Escape could offer a wider service by providing a facility to book day trips.”

“Excellent service from the start. Jack provided us with a range of hotel and travel options so we could tailor the trip to our preferences. Communication was very good, and we received an itinerary with details of our transfers, ideas for activities, etc. Just before departure, Jack contacted us to say there were roadworks outside one hotel, and offered us an alternative - a thoughtful touch one would never get from one of the big travel companies. The hotels, transfer arrangements, etc were very good. Everything went very smoothly on the trip, and we highly recommend Balkan Escapes to anyone planning a trip to Croatia or elsewhere.”

“From the start the company were extremely helpful. Jack sent me several itineraries until we had one which was exactly to our requirements. All travel arrangements and transfers went like clockwork and the hotels chosen were perfect!”

“From the initial contact, nothing was too much trouble. Jack changed things around and kept us up to date if flights changed, as they did, and offered us alternatives. We were offered choices of hotels and the hotels we chose were excellent. Transfers were all on time, except one who was only 5mins after the time, as we were going to the airport, we were a little worried and called Balkan and received an immediate response,as the taxi pulled up! We felt well supported. Our only suggestion for improvements would be to pop into the pack a map of pick up, and drop-off points for car hire, although all the info re addresses were included we try not to use our phones when we are away, so the car hire was difficult to find especially in Rovinj. I would and have recommended Balkan Escape to others.”

“Great stay in Dubrovnik and Sipan island. The two-center split was ideal. Dubrovnik was great but busy. Sipan Island was very relaxing. Everything was as described and the transfers to the hotels were spot on and stress free. We also seemed to get very good rooms. The one in Sipan had a sea view balcony as did Hotel Lapad in Dubrovnik.”

“From first contact with Balkan Escapes, I was impressed with the suggested itinerary and the speed at which my query was dealt with. A telephone call and subsequent emails from Jack also made the process feel more personal. We chose a 3 centre holiday and were very satisfied with the standard of accommodation and breakfast in all 3 hotels. Airport transfers worked well and it was reassuring to have emergency contact numbers in case of a no- show. Ferry transfers were booked at convenient times to allow for checkout and arrival at the port. The standard of service from Balkan Escapes was excellent - suggested itineraries were useful to help with planning day to day activities. Travel documents and travel tips were sent on time. My recommendation for improvement would be to allow more time from the hotel pick up to Dubrovnik airport in an afternoon as were were delayed in traffic. Fortunately the flight was delayed a little too. I would recommend Balkan Escapes and would certainly consider booking with them again”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Croatia and felt that it met our needs... time for the beach as well as to explore the islands a bit. The hotel in Split was satisfactory. It was a bit further away from the centre than we expected and we would have preferred something closer to the centre. The staff were friendly and helpful though. The breakfast was satisfactory, though we would have preferred a bit more choice. The hotel in Hvar town, though very big, met our needs well and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Its location was great, as was the view from the bar. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel in Bol was good, but to get to it there was a big hill to climb, so without a car it was not ideal. It had a nice pool, and the staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was fine. All the transfers worked well and made getting around very easy. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the service provided by Balkan Escape. One comment I would make is that we might have preferred more choice of hotels along with advice as to the pros and cons of each. We liked that the holiday was perfectly tailored to our needs, and that is a great strength of Balkan Escape. We would certainly recommend the company to friends who are looking for a tailor-made trip to Croatia.
