“Fantastic Holiday, Fantastic Service from Balkan Escape This holiday took quite a bit of back-and-forth with Heather to get the itinerary just right, and her patience was truly incredible. By the end, I think I was annoying myself with all the changes! Throughout the entire planning and booking process, right up to our departure, the communication was excellent and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Our first stop was a four-night stay at the Brown Beach House Hotel in Trogir. The location was perfect for exploring the beautiful old town on foot, and our room was comfortable and well-appointed. The staff were attentive and welcoming throughout our stay. The only downside was the aircraft noise. We knew the hotel was close to the airport, but the planes were surprisingly loud, often bringing conversations to a temporary halt as they flew overhead. We then spent three nights at Hotel Degenija near Plitvice National Park. The hotel was comfortable and ideally located for visiting the national park, provided you have a car. The bar service was a little inconsistent at times, but the hotel has tremendous potential. They are in the process of opening a new section with additional restaurant and bar facilities, which should greatly enhance the guest experience, as the current amenities seem stretched by the hotel's expanded capacity. One of the unexpected highlights of our stay was discovering the "secret" swimming pools in the river below the hotel. We spotted a walking trail and hoped it might lead to a swimming spot. Reception confirmed it did, and it turned out to be absolutely stunning – a real hidden gem. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend Balkan Escape. The service was excellent from start to finish, and I would not hesitate to book with them again or recommend them to others.”

“Our two centre holiday to Lake Bled and Rovinj was exactly as described in the itinerary provided by Balkan Escape. The booked transfers were on time and professionally delivered. especially the transfer between Lake Bled and Rovinj with the stop at Postojna caves. The Park Hotel in Bled was well located and the lake view exceptional. Island Hotel Croatia on St Andrews island Rovinj was also very good, clean with good choice of bars, restaurants and pools. The timetable provided for the ferry to and from the island however was incorrect. The ferry only operated once per hour each way which wasn’t a problem but worth noting for other guests! Overall we were very happy with the holiday and service we received from Balkan Escape and would definitely consider booking with them again.”

“Balkan Escape (especially Jack) listened to all our ever changing requirements & delivered ‘spot on’. We wanted a twin centre holiday away from the cruise ships of Dubrovnik which we eventually settled for with 4 nights in Split & 4 nights on Brac Island.. Our family of 4 - 2 teenagers, my wife & I…loved all of it…Brac was the winner just edging out beautiful Split…so chilled, so pretty….so nice”

“We really enjoyed our holiday in 3 different locations, Ljubljana, Bohinj and Portoroz. The service provided by Balkan Escape was first class throughout. It was good to be able to chat through our itinerary with a consultant and in particular we had good advice about the differences between Bled and Bohinj. We are really pleased we opted for Bohinj as the quieter area suited us much better. The suggestions for things to do/places of interest in each location was also good. All our transfers were really good. On time, comfortable and friendly drivers. We will certainly look at Balkan Escape again for a holiday and have already recommended to friends. Thank you.”

“I want to thank Balkan Escape for organising a ten night holiday for us in early June, everything went smoothly, the accommodations were exactly as expected and located perfectly at each destination. Octopus Transfers were on time and very professional. We had one driver twice, who was exceptional and gave us history and information on the areas we were visiting. As for the 3 areas we visited, Split, Plitvice Lakes and Zadar, we loved them all and had enough time at each to see and experience what we wanted. If anyone wants a 16 mile walk then the Plitvice Lakes is the place to do it! We chose not to use the little transfer buses. It was such an amazing place, get there early best time to see the waterfall from entrance 1. Croatia was wonderful and we will return again and experience different areas. Would recommend Balkan Escape.”

“A pleasure to deal with Balkan Escapes. Nothing too much trouble (when we kept changing our minds on accommodation options!) . Everything was catered for on our break to Slovenia. “Having looked for sometime at booking a visit to Slovenia inderpendently I decided that for a first time visit it might be easier to get a regional expert to help out. I am pleased to say that this decision proved to be more than justifed. I submitted an enquiry to Balkan Escapes and after an exchange of emails and a telephone call with a very helpful Heather everything was decided and booked within two days. I had been given various options on hotels in both Ljubljana and Bled with a choice of type of room and budget. Subsequent communication was very good, including reassurance about the jet fuel situation.Tickets hotel and transfer vouchers all arrived as previously promised. Taxi transfers to and from the airport and between hotels were ontime and with helpful competent drivers. The hotels generally exceeded our expectations. They were both in great positions with helpful friendly staff , very nice rooms and good buffet breakfasts. Having someone organise things for us took all the stress out of the holiday. I would certainly use Balkan Escapes again and recommend them to others.”

“We cannot thank Balkan Escape enough for an absolutely fabulous holiday in Croatia. All three hotels were of an excellent standard, the four private transfers were always on time. Zadar, Plitvice Lakes and Split gave us plenty of historical and natural wonders to explore. Our hotel in Split deserves a special mention, as they were so helpful to us, following my wife’s misfortune to lose her purse and someone trying to extract €500.00 at an ATM, using her debit card. We shall definitely consider using Balkan Escape when planning future holiday’s. Special thank you to Jack for keeping us informed at all times and supplying clear documentation.”
