“Just enjoyed a marvellous 2 week holiday in Croatia all organised by Balkan Escapes. The trip was compiled by Jack after we explained it would be our first trip abroad for some years and our first time in Croatia. Full marks for the recommendations, hotels and suggestions of other activities in Split, Brac and Hvar. The organisation and various connections, taxis, ferries etc were immaculate. Great hotel recommendations and the highlight was our stay on Brac at the Lemongarden Hotel. Brilliant holiday, great work by Balkan Escapes - top work Jack.”

“The holiday was first class, very pleased with all the arrangements and transfers went smoothly. The hotel Lapad was first class, food, entertainment etc, very enjoyable. The hotel Cvita in Split was disappointing, our fault for choosing that but I would take it off your options. Very poor breakfast, no atmosphere, too far out . Some of the staff were not helpful and abrupt . We did have a great room.”

“We enjoyed the most fantastic twin centre holiday in Croatia, courtesy of Balkan Escape. From the very first contact with Jack, he carefully listened to our requirements and made excellent proposals how best to fulfil them. Our hotels were excellent and matched our needs perfectly. The courier company used by Balkan Escape for our airport transfers and the journey from Split to Dubrovnik (via Mostar), was also superb. I would certainly recommend Balkan Escape for the friendly and very helpful service provided before we travelled, and the trouble free implementation of our itinerary when in Croatia.”

“When searching for holidays to Croatia we came across Balkan Escapes. We discussed our options with Heather who was helpful giving advice and developing our itinerary. Once the itinerary was confirmed the booking process was simple and quick. Before the holiday we received all the necessary documentation including tickets and passes. The holiday itself was great at the first hotel we were fortunate to get upgraded and had a fabulous room. The location was excellent with fantastic sea views. The transfer to the 2nd location was prearranged and was straightforward. On arrival at our 2nd hotel we were somewhat disappointed. Whilst it is appreciated the 1st hotel couldn’t be matched, the room at the 2nd hotel was called “comfort” but would suggest it was basic, we were there for 5 nights. Sadly we couldn’t get any warm water and initially the water was discoloured. We raised this issue with reception staff daily with no success. When we finally got to speak a manager he stated he wasn’t made aware. This has led to us receiving a 30% refund on. Our room. Overall it was a great holiday, arranged well by Balkan Escapes and we had all the relevant information provided to us.”

“We had a great holiday in Croatia despite the extremes in weather (28 in Zarda, 8 in Plitvice!)but I don't think that's normal. Maybe more information/warning regardingthe weather would have been helpful. Our three hotels were well chosed and suited our needs perfectly and the car hire arrangements were well organised. I would reccomend your company as it took all the stess out of organising the holiday and I was aware that I was speaking to people who knew the area.”

“We were supplied with an imaginative itinerary for our 9 day trip which mostly met our needs. Hotel 1 was excellent location and very good quality. Hotel 2 was good location on one island but room was very disappointing. Tepid discoloured water. Limited size. No views. We had some supporting emails from Balkan Escapes when we complained to them about the room but they clearly had no direct influence on the hotel. I doubt they even contacted them. Hotel promised a partial refund to us but this has to go through intermediary used by Balkan Escapes so we are still waiting . Helpful to have boarding passes printed and sent to us in advance. We won't use Balkan Escapes again but they are helpful for travelling to Balkans for first time.”

“* Did you feel that your holiday needs and requirements were met? Yes - we wanted a three centre holiday and this was what we had with two lovely islands and the town of Split. * Was your accommodation/transfers as you had expected? Yes - everything was as promised. I have to admit that we tend to prefer the smaller boutique hotels and we were a little overwhelmed at first by the size of the Amorfa Spa Hotel on Hvar. However, the staff were delightful, the food was excellent and the location was superb. * How was the service provided by Balkan Escape? Excellent - bad weather forced the cancellation of a transfer ferry but this was overcome quite easily thanks to their excellent knowledge of the local ferry services. * Are there any areas of either the booking process or your holiday that Balkan Escape could improve? Not really. * Would you book through Balkan Escape again, and would you recommend us to friends/family? Definitely.”

“Balkan Escapes did an excellent job of organising our holiday to Croatia including a short stay in Venice. They took care to create a package that met our needs and kept us informed throughout and provided a comprehensive summary of the proposal before we booked the agreed package. The hotels and transfers were of good quality. I was particularly pleased that they took the initiative to contact us when unusually bad weather resulted in the Ferry to Venice being cancelled and ensured we were clear about the alternative arrangements that had been made. As a result, I felt they were working in the background whilst we were away to ensure our holiday went smoothly. I am very likely to use Balkan Escapes again.”

“We had an excellent holiday with Balkan Escapes! Everything was extremely well organised, with our own personalised itinerary website which made it easy to find all the information we needed. The hotels we stayed in were all lovely, and transfers very smooth with our own private transfers between hotels and locations. “We booked a 7 night stay in Split. Everything from flights, transfers and accommodation worked to perfection with excellent service and support from Balkan Escapes before our departure. The accommodation was first class in an ideal quiet location in the old town just a 5 minute walk to the Riva and all the amenities with plenty of quality restaurants on hand. In addition we were helped booking two tours that also met all our requirements with the pick up point a 5 minute walk from our accommodation. Highly recommended absolutely top draw in terms of organisation recommendations and service exceeding our expectations in all respects.”

“We had a great week in Croatia, split (!) between Korcula and Dubrovnik. Jack couldn't have been more helpful with lots of practical ideas, very organised and efficient. He made it all very easy and everything went like clockwork. We wouldn't have any hesitation in using Balkan Escape again. Korcula was great with lots of restaurants, wine tasting, local boat trips. Dubrovnik was crowded - too busy for our liking!”

“We were delighted with all aspects of our holiday to Croatia. It was a good idea to have a 3 centre holiday (Dubrovnik, Hvar and Split) as it made the holiday more interesting. The flights and transfers were all very efficient and the organisaton by Balkan Escape was excellent. Our hotels met expectations and the Moessey in Hvar and the Ambasador in Spilt were both beautiful. We will defintely use Balkan Escape again and we would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for advice and help with their holiday.”

“I made an initial enquiry over the Internet and from start to finish the holiday and the support we received were excellent. Balkan were able to adjust the holiday to suit our requirements and everything went like clockwork. Airport pick ups and returns were very efficient and the flight with Jet2 was fine. As for the accommodation we both found the Beach Bay Hotel perfect for our needs. The staff were all exceptional and helpful at all times. The accommodation in Split, Tiffany Apartments was ideally placed to get the best out of a short stay in a busy city.”
