“What a great company! From the time of the original enquiry to the time that we went, I couldn't fault them. Initially they provided various options, that we could tweak or discount, they very patiently waited until we made the decision of where we wanted. They made day by day suggestions of places to visit in each location, which were all brilliant. We couldn't fault the accommodation in both settings, particularly the hotel in Rovinj. They made it very clear what the cost implications for each accommodation and location choice would be as well as sorting the flights. We had the best holiday in no small way because of Balcan Escape and their very thorough service.”

“We used Balkan Escapes again in 2026 for our holiday in Sicily, following a previous holiday to Croatia and Montenegro. Jack was able to walk us through the best places to visit on the Island and make hotel recommendations, both of which turned out to be fabulous!!! We really value the experience the company offers and the simplicity of making the booking even down to the pre check in of our flights !!! They also provided advice of obtaining additional insurance for our car hire we was invaluable during our discussions with a very sales focussed member of the car hire team at the car rental pick up. Overall a wonderful holiday and fantastic service provided by Balkan Escapes and Jack”

“An excellent holiday, with four days in Ljubljana and six at Lake Bled. Jack at Balkan Escape understood our brief at the outset, and provided a couple of options to choose from (flight times, hotels, times in each location) so we were able to look at those and choose the most suitable. All the communications from Balkan Escape were clear and in good time, and made everything very simple. The airport transfers and transfer between hotels used local taxis which were on time and very efficient. The hotels were both clean, comfortable and exactly as expected (Hotel Park has an indoor pool, which is excellent when it's >35degC outside). We organised our trips seperately as we didn't know in advance what days we would want to do things, but we chose from those that Jack had recommended. The 3glav trip from Bled to the Triglav National Park was superb, as were the caves at Postojina. Lubliana is small, so four days (with a day out to the caves) was more than enough. Bled is even smaller, but it's a good base to visit other places and it's beautiful in its own right. All in all an excellent holiday in a beautiful country, and would highly recommend Slovenia and Balkan Escape.”

“I have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Croatia organised with Balkan Escape. I can't fault them. The holiday they arranged for us was excellent. Their suggestions for accommodation suited us as a family perfectly. They were well organised, communicated with us efficiently and there were no issues at all. “Thank you Balkan Escapes. A very well organised trip. Loved the fact that, apart for a taxi from Dubrovnik port to our hotel, everything was sorted for us - flights, private transfers, hotels and the ferry from Split to Dubrovnik. The hotels were lovely, especially the Splendida Palace in Split. Well situated close to the old town and such helpful staff. The More in Dubrovnik was very nice but quite a trek to the old town - taxi between 20-25 euros. Would definitely use you again and recommend you to family and friends.👍”

From our very first contact with Balkan Escapes, we were looked after by Jack, who put together an excellent itinerary and provided a great selection of hotels to choose from. We had to change our travel dates several times, but Jack was incredibly accommodating and tailored everything to our needs without any hassle. The hotel in Dubrovnik was a fantastic choice (Hotel Lapad), ideally located near the marina and within easy reach of the boat trips. It was also only a 10-minute Uber ride to the Old Town, making it the perfect base for exploring the area. All transfers ran smoothly, and our time in Montenegro was equally superb. The overall value for money was excellent, especially considering Balkan Escapes organised absolutely everything for us. Communication was outstanding throughout the booking process. Payment was straightforward and secure via bank transfer, and all required travel documents were provided promptly. As an added bonus, check-in for both our outbound and return flights was completed on our behalf. Providing passport information was also simple, requiring only a few photos sent via WhatsApp. The only minor issue was that the transfer from Dubrovnik to Kotor was estimated at around 2 hours 15 minutes, whereas the journey actually took closer to 3 hours 30 minutes. However, this was a very small point in an otherwise flawless experience. Overall, everything was handled professionally and efficiently, and we couldn't have asked for a better service. We would definitely use Balkan Escapes again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a stress-free holiday.”

“Amazing holiday to Croatia. It was our first visit and although I often book the holidays myself, we knew nothing about the areas so needed a bit of help. I had an idea of where I wanted to visit and Jack put together a super itinerary that fit in with exactly what we wanted, suggesting an island (Korcula) in the middle of the travel between Split and Dubrovnik. It fit in perfectly with when we wanted to travel and he made sure we had the hotel rooms that we wanted even though he had to do a bit of checking rooms were available etc. In addition, we got links and suggested activites for the areas we were visiting, which was fabulous. We did some amazing visits, white water rafting, canyoning, Trogir and waterfalls trip plus additional things. The accomodation was lovely all round - great locations and just as expected / exceeded. It was so smooth - a whole itinerary provided with private airport transfers and arranged ferry trips all organised in order in a folder. I loved it. Thank you. In addition, we were checked in by Balkan Escapes onto the flights so did not need to do anything except turn up and book our holiday. I would absolutely recommend them to book a holiday and would (will) use again. It was such a personal and easy experience. We had never used them before but they had good reviews hence I am taking the time to also write one. The only thing I would choose to do if possible ( not easy in school holidays) is go at a slightly cooler time of year as it was even hotter than usual due to the heatwave although the sunbathers in the family were delighted!. Thanks again for organising a fantastic holiday to Croatia. We loved it.”

“10 days in Slovenia (3 adults which includes 18 yr old daughter). From the very beginning, with our initial enquiry, Heather listened carefully to our needs, our budget, timing and locations we wanted to include. We approached other companies with the same requirements, but they were not able to be as flexible as we wanted or keep within the specific budget we were working with. We communicated in depth with Heather at Balkan Escape for a number of days to tweak the holiday, and at no point was there impatience or barriers to responding to what we asked for. The result was a well organised, taliored holiday that met all our needs. We were offered self catering but opted for hotels which were wonderful and each with their own character. They were well placed for what we wanted (not too much in the centre of things, but close enough for a short walk). We requested private transfers to each of our locations as it is our first visit to Slovenia and wanted to know we wouldn't be held up on public transport. These were well organised and worked well. We were given the option to receive all the holiday details by post or via email. We opted for the paperwork (as we would have printed it out anyway) and it was all really clear, with specific instructions and details for each part of our holiday. in short, everything was negotiated with what we wanted / needed and they delievered. We had a WONDERFUL time and it has inspired us to explore the Balkans further and we will certainly turn to Balkan Escape for our next trip.”

“We booked our honeymoon with Balkan Escape with the trip taking in Split, Hvar, and Dubrovnik over 8 nights. During the planning Balkan escape provided us with several accommodation options for the three places. After doing our own research on the hotels suggested, we chose the Splendida Palace in Split, Riva Marina in Hvar and Hotel Lapad in Dubrovnik. All the hotels were located really well, and were excellent, but a special mention to the Splendida Palace, who were so helpful with restaurant recommendations and places to visit. All the flights, hotels, transfers to and from the airports, and the ferry tickets were booked by Balkan Escape which made navigating from place to place so easy. That definitely takes away the stress! The communication from the initial telephone conversation to the delivery of the travel documents was excellent and we would have no hesitation in using Balkan Escape again in the future. Thanks for helping in making our Honeymoon so memorable!”
