“We recently booked a trip through Balkan Escape at relatively short notice flying from Standsted to Split for a few days, transferring by catamaran to Dubrovik for the rest of the week before returning. Balkan Escape also organised airport transfers. The staff at Balkan Escapes gave us suggestions of activities to try at each location and were extremely helpful in making adjustments to our bookings. We found the section of accommodation good and accessible to the city centres, either by walking, uber or the local buses. Everything went smoothly and the owners/representatives of the self-catering venues were very helpful in helping us navigate the local areas. We would be happy to use Balkan Escapes again for another trip to this region of Europe.”

“Jack and the team provided a very personal and detailed service for our holiday to Croatia in September 2023. We were very impressed at how comprehensive the service was and even more so because it seemed to happen without us asking for many of the details. So from plane tickets and reserved seats, to details of each hotel, to transfers from and to the airport in Split, tickets and times for each ferry crossing between Split and Hvar. This truly was a "complete package" and provided in such a personal manner. All of my contact has been over the phone and emails and this has worked out extremely well. “Just returned from a fantastic 10 days in Croatia. This was our first visit and was greatly helped by the fantastic service received from Balkan Escapes who provided lots of information to help us decide on where to go (we finally settled on 3 days in Split, 4 days in Hvar and 3 days in Dubrovnik). A range of hotel options were provided to suit different budgets. Great service from Balkan Escapes when our final hotel shut early for the season and Balkan Escapes arranged accommodation at short notice in a sister hotel. All the hotels were fantastic, ranging from a small boutique hotel in Split to larger hotels in Hvar and Dubrovnik. The transfers from and to airports and between hotels was well organised and all the necessary paperwork provided in good time before travel. Balkan Escapes were also very helpful in suggestions for activities and places to eat when I enquired prior to travelling. They have extensive knowledge of the area and are happy to share it. I would most certainly use them again and would certainly recommend them to family and friends.”

“Jack Fleming put together a fabulous 40 th anniversary trip for us. Especially difficult for him when we had to postpone & rearrange due to my mothers death. All our drivers, boat pick ups worked like clockwork . Our hotels were super. A slight glitch with the hotel in Kotor, outwith Jacks control. But I did give him feed back! We loved Croatia , loved that everything in our holiday, many moving parts all worked . So much so we might do another trip!!!”

“This was the best planned holiday I've ever experienced. From the very start, Balkan Escapes "built" the holiday in Croatia we wanted - Dubrovnik, Corcula, Split. The locations, hotels, sea transfers and flights were all excellent. No complaints whatsoever and I recommend them unreservedly.”

“Overall a good experience. Good attention and attentiveness. It gave us the base we needed to be able to enjoy our first trip to Croatia. Transfers were well organised and on time. Our only issue was actually with the second hotel, Neptun, which whilst its location was perfect we perhaps had not realised that it was a large "resort" hotel which was not to our taste. Whilst facilities were very good, our room was small and not to standard as far as we were concerned. It was in marked contrast to the hotel in Split which we were very happy with!”

He answered all my questions and gave us ideas of what to do in each location. The hotels were lovely and transfers in between well organised. The information we received prior to departure was thorough and being sent the pack with all our boarding passes etc was a great touch. All in all the holiday was fantastic value for money and loved Croatia.”

“The holiday planned by Balkan Escapes was well planned and all the connections worked well and were on time. The only points I would make were the hotels . The Hotel in Split Marul was nice and small and centrally located , whilst the hotel Amfora in Hvar was huge, a nice 10 minute walk along the coast from the town centre but attracting a number of loud guests. Not the type of place we would normally go to. The third hotel , the Neptun in Dubrovnik was the best , the only one of the three I would class as four star. The only downside was it was 5 kilometres out of the town centre. There was though a good bus service to the old town.”

“It was nice to experience a holiday where transfers and tickets were all arranged. The whole process from booking to going away was smooth. We told Jack what we wanted and our needs were met. We were particularly impressed by the suggestions for tours which allowed us to focus our searches. We would certainly book with Balkan Escapes again because the service was comprehensive and made life easy. The hotels were great and all the staff were very friendly.”
