Purchased 1/2 Bulk bag AWBS Blended Loam Topsoiln for our newly done garden and I was absolutely terrified of the amount of broken glass and rusty nails, sticks stones and all sorts of other rubbish. It was too late when realised and had to pay to redo the WHOLE garden anew. I count let my little girl run in the garden. This is crazy!!

The slabs never got delivered 1st time they didn't get loaded in time before the bank holiday then the carrier lost them (40 off 500mm x 1000mm slabs) and promised another delivery by Friday never turned up. Made a phone call to ask for my money back.

So actually I liked their guys but having my fences and gate replaced in November 20 I’m now out of warranty and the post are splitting vertically. Guy who originally did the job kindly came round and explained that the wood available has wider rings therefore poorer quality. I asked Warwick if better grade of wood was available he said no. Disappointed in so many ways - I’m fairly acceptable of human mistakes but even the gate wasn’t measured correctly. They tried to hammer an ugly board to compensate but by then I just wanted them out. So disappointing. Just because it’s local and have previously been fab doesn’t mean they’ll be able to replicate their excellence. Flaky FYI..

Hello, we are sorry to hear you’re disappointed with our service. We were looking into your issue but unfortunately you did not give us a chance to respond to you before leaving us a negative review. All treated softwood timber products are prone to warping, cracking, twisting and splitting and weathering, however this is NOT a manufacturing fault but a natural process that can occur when the moisture content in a piece of timber changes unevenly, usually due to seasonal changes, weather and air humidity. The “ugly board” you refer to was a capping rail that was installed in order to stop the gate from swinging back. This is common practice with most of our timber gate installations. Thank you, AWBS.

Goods were damaged, and I sent a email with pictures requesting a additional board as it I had to cut so much of the damage out and didn’t get a response.

Placed an order with sales manager James on Monday 21st for 1 pallet of grey slabs. Explained the importance of arriving by Friday latest Was told will definitely be there by Friday. My Mother called to pay on credit card. Was told by James definitely by Friday. Also explaining I have booked people in so need to be sure. I then called again on Thursday to be sure and told yes all booked for delivery on Friday. No Slabs delivered. Called Saturday morning and spoke to lady in office who apologised and said ticket was not passed to transport. My chaps arrived and I had to pay them as travelled even though no work could be done as slabs not delivered. James called back and offered 25% discount but no delivery till Wednesday now. Unhappy as this all cost me and wouldn’t be so bad if I hadn’t called 3 times to confirm!, So this morning I speak to MD who talks over me while I try to explain. Accuses me of lying as his manager would never have said this. Even though he was not there and not privy to conversation. He was rude arrogant and as unhelpful as you can be. 40yrs in the industry worst service to date and rudest MD. Awaiting refund, who knows if it will arrive, will probably be told I’m lying again. AVOID at all costs and definitely do not rely on delivery etc.

Hi Mark. We are very sorry you were unhappy with our service. Please be assured that we take customer service and satisfaction very seriously, but on this occasion we have clearly fallen short. Your location is outside of our local daily delivery area and we have to build loads for weekly deliveries to out of area postcodes. It is therefore very difficult to give specific delivery date for out of local delivery area orders, however this should have been clearly communicated to you and for this we apologise. Didn’t deliver when told they would, had to ring them a second time because second promised delivery didn’t arrive, therefore I Cancelled order, Awaiting promised refund.

The Swindon staff were generally, rude, disinterested and unhelpful. I was made to feel fairly insignificant and your staff need to be a little more approachable. Your staff were unaware of who I am, what I want and how much I want to spend. Your staffs' attitude has lost your company around £ 4,000 of business. Subsequently I will be purchasing from elsewhere. Please do not leave the generic 'our staff are under extreme pressure...high demand....covid.... etc as this is wearing a little thin and we are all in the same boat.

Dear Mr Hughes. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry if you feel we were unhelpful. We are happy to admit when we get things wrong but, on this occasion, we feel that your review is a little unfair to say the least. You asked our staff member for a sample of Millboard decking; this was an unusual colour and he explained that he was not sure if we had that particular colour, but his colleague started to look through the samples we hold below the sales counter. When asked if we “sold much Millboard”, our staff member explained that we did not and tried to explain that we sell a comparative product from Trex for which we hold a wider range of samples. As he tried to explain this you turned and walked out of the branch, only 30 seconds after entering according to our CCTV, and did not give him an opportunity to explain the options and what we could do for you. We do not hold samples of every type and colour of decking we supply, but we would have been very happy to order a sample for you or discuss alternative products. If you would like to return to the Swindon branch or contact us with your requirements, we will be very happy to order samples and supply you with any information or assistance you require. They have had a massive data breach in which customers' payment details (full card number and security code etc) have been stolen (including mine). Why they do not offer alternative payment methods such as PayPal is beyond me.

Please be assured that we take customer and online security very seriously. As soon as we identified the data breach we contacted customers immediately, the police and Information Commissioners Office (ICO) were informed and a thorough investigation was carried out by our website security team. We use SagePay for online payments because the system complies to PCI DSS Level 1 compliance, the highest possible level of card data security. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic online fraud has risen by 65% and it is a serious problem for every online retailer but in no way does this excuse the issue that has affected you on this occasion. We take on board your comments regarding PayPal and we will consider this in addition to SagePay as payment method for online. Once again, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies for any distress and inconvenience caused and hope you will consider using AWBS again in the future. Problem with AWBS is they take a order via the internet, and don't actually have the items in stock. They do not actually state that items are NOT in stock, therefore they confirm your order, only for you have to wait until they become available

I am writing regarding AWBS in Yarnton. Customer service in this branch is minus zero! The so-called ''branch manager''! is a real ''MACHO'', no wonder you should avoid any debate and save yourself! Don't want to waste more time and go to details, just do NOT buy from AWBS in Yarnton, they don't respect their customers. I wish I could give them ''NO'' star at all!

I am a long time customer of awbstld. However, I spoke to a service rep who claimed to be Adrian White this morning. He stated clearly "we are not interested in your business, to supply and deliver soil". Absolute, shame. No problem solving or asking how you can help. If this was Adrian who I spoke to then you must have too many clients. You aren't getting any of my business or my clients. Thank you for your past efforts.

Unfortunately I've got to join the multiple other people who has had the misfortune to encounter the rude staff at AWBS Oxford. I've used them a few times and staff have been a bit hit and miss, sometimes helpful sometimes rude. Unfortunately they excelled themselves recently after telling me they had put items aside to collect I made the journey to find they had sold them without explanation. The staff member completely uninterested and rude bordering on aggressive. Refused to take any responsibility or apologise because it was 'just turf'. Felt a bit like dealing with a petulant child. Mistakes happen but being rude and unhelpful is harder to justify. I try to support a local business where possible but there are plenty other more professional companies that will be getting my business.
