Ordered 23 brown sleepers over half were bent which made it difficult to make the rised beds with out gaps in . Plus had a green sleeper in the pile

One of the gravel boards was damaged and was narrow at one end. I didn't notice until I had cut it

Disappointingly, the free membrane promised on the website was not delivered. I rang and they said they would sent it out but it didn’t arrive.

Product and price were spot on and the Delivery was shocking! The wording of the first email: Delivery is scheduled for on or before Friday 9th...I had to call to confirm the non-descript date which was for Friday only to receive another email a day before said delivery stating: ORDER UPDATE - Your delivery has been rescheduled for as soon as possible week commencing Monday 12th June. We apologise for the delay. I called to find out what had happened and no discount was offered as an apology. The delivery person was great and managed to place them exactly where i wanted them. As a suggestion please give a delivery day on your emails instead of a cryptic one and maybe am or pm info as well. Also for customer satisfaction maybe offer a small discount as way of an apology when you can not deliver on the date offered?

Hi Mel, thank you for your review and we apologise that you were not satisfied with our service on this occasion. We offer a free delivery service therefore when we have a delivery to fulfil that is outside our immidiate delivery area such as yours, generally we will mark it as "when in area". This allows us to build up a delivery load for a certain area rather than travelling further out to fulfil one delivery. We understand on this occasion that this could have been communicated to you better however, so we apologise for any inconvinience. Thanks, AWBS.

See photo below. The compost was very coarse, containing a high proportion of uncomposted or semicomposted sticks, twigs and other material, much below your usual standard. We may have to look elsewhere next time. Also, although we had asked to be notified before delivery, so that we could explain exactly where the bag should be left, it was delivered without prior notification or even without alerting us, although we were at home at the time. Unhelpful.

Delivery of the 16 oak sleepers was prompt. Unfortunately the quality of the oak sleepers was not what I expected. They are 100 x 200 but these dimensions varied significantly from 95 to 105 width which compromised the construction. In addition to that a number of the lengths had not been sawn at right angles. At least six of the lengths had damage along their lengths. So not very happy.

Hi there, thank you for your review and we're sorry you weren't satisfied with your product. Our Oak Sleepers are purposely rough sawn to provide a rustic and natural looking product for use in and around the garden. This is indicated in both the product photographs on our website, and the product desciption, which reads as follows - "Please note - Dimensions may differ slightly due to timber tolerances. Please contact your local branch for exact dimensions. Cracks, splits and rough / rounded edges are a natural occurance and design feature of these sleepers and NOT a product fault." We would happily replace any badly damaged items if the condition of the item goes beyond this product description. Please get in touch with your local branch if you'd like to discuss this further. Whilst the products were as expected I wasn't impressed that AWBS delivered our order with no notice at a time where I wasn't home. This then meant that the materials were left in our front garden and I had to move everything myself - not ideal when with such heavy stuff and we'd spent so much on delivery.

Your compost is good, previous deliveries have been good, but this time you didn't let me know the delivery date, in spite of the message I included with the order saying this would be necessary. My compost was left in a public place on the allotment without my knowledge and without my ever having received your standard email alert. By the time I knew about the compost, others had assumed it wasn't a private purchase, but an anyone-can-have-some matter. I was in time to wheel-barrow most of the remaining compost down the drive to my own piece of hard standing where I had wanted it delivered, but a great deal of lost time and fuss was caused. All you had to do was follow your promised procedure of alerting me to the delivery. I can't answer your other questions because I don't know when the delivery was made.

Spent nearly £800 over two transactions, first went OK. Second only half turned up on the appointed day. I rang and was told the rest wouldn't go out that day. Finally turned up a day later and one of the fences was cracked. Guy on the Van was very apologetic and professional (Only reason I gave it 2 stars)

Ordered 30mm Cotswold chippings 25/7, promised the Friday after (30/7) but it didn’t arrive. After I called AWBS they said things didn’t always go to plan but would be delivered the following Friday (6/8) and they would call when on their way; the delivery still didn’t happen, no call to apologise etc so I don’t know when it will arrive now. They’ve had my money for 2 weeks now and no chippings delivered. I was given the name of the company by a neighbour who had good service but I can’t say the same.

Paypal seems to not be accepted any more. have to use Sagepay? Took Sagepay 2 or 3 days to authorise the payment so had to wait almost a week before delivery. In the past used to be almost always next day. Delivery driver; as in the past was most helpful but I had to move vehicles around and warn neighbours as there was no pre warning of a rough delivery time (or date).

Hi Steven, thank you for your feedback. We have never used Paypal on our website. SagePay is a UK-wide recognised and secure third party payment platform used by thousands of businesses. Payment is immediate and your order is processed by us as soon as possible after we receive it, with an estimated delivery period given where possible. However, as is clearly stated on our website and across our social media channels, our company and the industry as a whole is currently under immense pressure due to customer demand, therefore our lead times are significantly extended for our free delivery service. Unfortunately this is out of our control. This also makes giving specific delivery times impossible. Again, this is clearly communicated on our website homepage. Thanks, AWBS.

The staff are appallingly rude, treating you like they are doing you a favour for allowing you to buy their merchandise. Products are fine but the staff are abysmal.

We ended up cancelling our order due to the lack of communication around delivery. I rang to chase and was informed it would be the next day, only to wait in for it and it never arrived. I then called again and was told it could be any one of three possible days. Found another supplier who delivered on time as promised.

Delivery arranged for Friday. Had a phone call towards the end of the day to say it wasn’t going to arrive and was I ok with Monday. Called on Monday around 4 and still no delivery no one could tell me where my delivery was. Showed up randomly on Tuesday.

Product good but communication terrible was told would arrive Fri 26th checked that morning and was told it would be that day - waited but it never came - rang next morning and told didn’t know what had happened to it - said would ring me back and let me know but never did product finally arrived later that day with no notification - I consider very poor communication skills with the customer.

Was due a delivery on Tuesday of 4 bulk bags 20mm shingle they actually dropped them at the billing address blocking a disabled access overnight I called them several times after I found out their mistake and yarnton office seem to forgot how to use pick up a phone in the end I had to wait until Wednesday morning and contact Oxford office to resolve the issue Collected them back on the Wednesday afternoon but took till Friday to get them to the correct address 10 miles away
