I booked a removal service with AnyVan, but unfortunately my property completion was delayed at the last minute due to solicitors not finalising paperwork. This was completely outside of my control, and I notified AnyVan as soon as I was aware. Despite this, AnyVan refused to provide me with a refund and stated I would be charged £120 just to reschedule. I find this extremely unfair and unreasonable, especially given the circumstances. I raised a formal complaint but was left dissatisfied with the response. As a customer, I expected more flexibility and fairness in handling genuine situations like this. I am now escalating this matter to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards, but I feel other potential customers should be aware of my experience.

We always aim to be as transparent as possible, and as stated in our Terms & Conditions, bookings cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled move are unfortunately non-refundable. We do understand that circumstances can sometimes change unexpectedly, and in such cases, if a customer needs to reschedule, a rescheduling fee is applied to cover the costs already committed to your booking. We appreciate your feedback and understand how frustrating it can be when plans don’t go ahead as expected. If I could give zero stars, I would. Cowboys - avoid at all costs. Destroyed antique furniture from my grandmothers; removing from their van (already damaged during transit), without consideration to stop drawers from falling out onto the floor & causing further damage. Also two hours late to drop off furniture as they picked up another job on route. Terrible terrible service & I’m now having to face destroying the majority of the furniture, due to damages. Please, avoid.

AnyVan have literally provided the worst possible customer service. I made a pick up booking the day before I needed sofas picked up only to be advised by the retailer the items were not in stock. Within an hour of my original booking I contacted AnyVan who would not provide a refund, despite there being nothing to pickup. I was then offered a credit against another booking by one AnyVan employee and a free reschedule by another. Today I attempted to redeem that offer on another delivery and AnyVan refused despite earlier commitments. I strongly urge customers not to use AnyVan unless you want to be ripped off!

I've moved a lot in my life, and I know what the moving process entails. I wanted to rely on a company that could help me with my belongings in a respectful manner. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I had issues with one of the movers who thought it was normal to call me at 11 p.m. the night before a big move to demand a change in the moving schedule. When I tried to request a change of movers, they wanted to charge me an enormous amount, which I refused to pay. It took me seven hours to speak with a supervisor to explain the situation - all the while waiting in a chaotic home for someone from anyvan to contact me. When I tried to resolve the problem, after many phone calls, they told me they would send another mover the next day at 9 a.m. They didn't arrive until 3 p.m. They came, did the job, and took my things to my new house. The service supposedly includes disassembling the boxes. But they left the boxes right in the middle of the house (heavy boxes I could not move alone) and left without throwing away any of the trash they had left behind, nor did they complete the service that I paid for. The worst part is that the driver, once the job was done, started sending me inappropriate WhatsApp messages after they left. I had to block him immediately, and I didn't feel safe knowing he now knows where I live. It's the worst service I've ever used. Never again with Anyvan.

What an appalling bunch of cowboys! These so-called “experts” couldn’t move a piano an inch. They sent two of the smallest movers, who looked completely shocked and confused by what was clearly described in the job details. They didn’t even attempt to move the item, and now they’re refusing to give a refund. Avoid these cowboys at all costs!

Absolutely dreadful experience, don't ever book these people they sent a van too small the first day and left a third of my stuff, the chap the next day had a list just for my desk and monitor and got really iffy, so I bunged him some money and he still left about a third of it so now I still need to pay another van driver. This company are abysmal don't use them even as a last resort

Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs Absolutely awful service. The driver, Remi, never contacted me upon arrival and completely failed to pick up the item. I was informed by the auction staff that no one had shown up. Despite multiple attempts, Remi ignored all calls and texts while claiming to be at the location. When I reached out to the company to reschedule, I was told I’d have to pay a 50% fee – even though they did nothing to begin with. The representative said this came from a “senior” staff member, which just shows how deeply this behavior runs in the company. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t a one-off issue but a recurring theme. Dishonest driver, unhelpful management, and a complete lack of accountability. Disgusting service from top to bottom.

My experience with any Any Van Birmingham. APPALLING. The time was arranged. 7am 21.07.2025. Waited 1 hour, told they were 20 mins away. An hour later, 9am. Put on hold 6 times. 10am, told they had broke down. Lies. The driver made no attempt to call me. Or the office. My family contacted friends with cars & small vehicles. 14 helpers & 8 hours later at 7pm. I was in. At a loss of £550. Don’t trust Any Van. They will not arrive. I am very upset. At age 78. Disgusted & a loss of £550 😰

Avoid Anyvan at all costs. They left half my belongings in my original property so had to hire another van to get the rest of my property. They put homes in my walls and damaged my belongings. Customer service is a joke They don't answer the phones and don't admit to there mistakes or apologise. Avoid Anyvan

Most of our furniture was broken, scratched or damaged by brown tape. They charged us a ridiculous amount on the day (£500) for extra boxes after we had booked for the amount of boxes recommended by their staff. Very difficult to book a redelivery. Terrible all around

Charged almost double the price originally quoted. Then sent me the wrong confirmation. Spent almost 6 hours trying to resolve over WhatsApp and was put on hold for an hour with no resolution. Do not recommend!

Anyvan sent a vehicle that was too small I had to pay another £800.00 to get them to second a second vehicle which arrived about 5.30pm and the move took 2days instead of one. They broke some of my belongings and damaged most of my furniture. I had to buy bubble wrap to enable them to pack fragile items. DO NOT USE THEM THEY ARE NOT COMPETENT

The van size was arranged based on the inventory list that was confirmed with you via email prior to the move. Unfortunately, the list provided didn’t reflect the actual volume of items, which meant a second vehicle had to be arranged later in the day. We absolutely recognise how inconvenient this would have been, especially with the move taking longer than anticipated. In regard to the damage, we do need to clarify that we were only notified of this on 7 July, while your move took place on 3 March. As this falls well outside our required notification window, we regret to advise that we are unable to proceed with a damage claim on this occasion. We truly wish this had been raised with us sooner so we could have addressed it appropriately. Took my money then didn't arrive to do my house move. Contacted Anyvan via emails but i haven't heard back from them. Dreadful company. Don't use them as they are obviously unreliable.

We used Any Van just over a week ago and would never recommend them to anyone. They damaged EVERY single piece of furniture and clearly had no clue how to pack furniture. They had no packing materials, just a few bits of cardboard on the floor of their van. They charged us extra money to move a wardrobe that they’d initially said was in the price and we spent most of the day going back and forth between our old and new home because they said they couldn’t fit everything in their van! Do not trust this company. They are an absolute scam who outsource to unprofessional people who have no clue what they’re doing. We’ve tried getting through to their complaints as they told us they were fully insured and now they won’t pick up.

Not a good company to use. Few reasons why: Refused to take individual items which had not been included on the inventory and tried to charge more to put them on the van. It is not made clear that the inventory Is supposed to be an exact list rather than a guide to estimate the size of van required. Secondly when the van turned up, it was half full with another persons possessions who was also sitting in the van he clearly didn’t realise that the van would be doing multiple jobs on the same day and was telling me I needed to be quick and then my stuff better not damage any of his. Thirdly, the van then proceeded to take 6 hours to arrive at my new address for what was a 1 hour drive. Tracking the van on a whistle stop tour of north London, the drivers were clearly doing multiple jobs on the way round. In summary, don’t use this company. They are trying to reinvent the man with van service, making it more profitable for themselves and a hugely inferior and inconvenient service for the end user.

We’d love the chance to clear up a few points about how our service works, as it’s clear there was some misalignment around what was booked and what was delivered. First off, our bookings are based on the inventory list provided at the time of confirmation. This helps us determine the vehicle size, space requirements, and price. We do try to make it clear during the booking process that the inventory isn’t just a rough guide — it’s the basis of the job. That said, we understand it can be easy to assume there’s a bit more flexibility, so we’ll take this on board for further clarity. Secondly, we are a part-load company. Our transport partners often carry out more than one job per route. This model keeps costs down for customers and significantly reduces wasted miles on the road. For context, AnyVan was founded with exactly this in mind: helping to cut unnecessary emissions and make logistics smarter and more affordable. The customer you saw sharing the van was simply on another leg of that same route. That said, we appreciate that this approach isn’t for everyone, especially if you're expecting a direct, single-use service. There are companies out there that offer exactly that, but it is not how our model is set up. The six-hour delay was likely due to the vehicle completing other jobs before reaching your destination, which is part of how we’re able to offer lower prices across the board. All the best, AnyVan

Disappointed by AnyVan – Financial and Emotional Losses After a “Premium” Move We hired AnyVan for what was supposed to be a full-service, premium move (ref: AV-8812773). Instead, we received a chaotic and careless experience — and we’re still dealing with the consequences. First, the company took an unreasonably long time to respond to our emails. When they eventually did, they offered apologies — but no meaningful solution. What we need is not just words, but financial compensation. The wardrobe boxes we paid for were never delivered — and we have not received a refund. Our own boxes were damaged because the movers didn’t bring the ones they were supposed to. One of the beds was incorrectly assembled, missing bolts and left unstable. We now have to hire someone else to fix it. Several of our belongings were scratched, crushed or broken due to lack of proper wrapping and stacking. This has resulted not only in stress and frustration, but real financial loss: we are out of pocket for missing items, repairs, and additional help we should never have had to arrange ourselves. We’ve shared all photos and videos, and we’ve spent a huge amount of time trying to resolve this. So far, we’ve received only a token gesture and vague promises. We cannot recommend AnyVan based on this experience. Think twice before trusting them with your move.

Pathetic service by AnyVan Had a terrible experience with AnyVan. First, they showed two different prices for the same day and same items. I had to call customer service because the price increased by £50 from morning to evening without any explanation. I booked a move for a 6-seater dining table and clearly confirmed on the call that it was a foldable dining table with six chairs. Still, on the moving day, they charged me extra, claiming the quote was only for the table, not the chairs. They told me they couldn't find my call recordings, even though they record all their support and sales calls!!! Also, my apartment is a deluxe flat with two levels. I booked the move from the 2nd floor and mentioned everything clearly, but because the drivers had to take five extra steps to bring the table down (everything else was already on the ground floor), they charged me an additional £47 on the spot! The drivers themselves were very nice and helpful and admitted that AnyVan often pulls these kinds of tactics with customers to squeeze more money out during moves. Apparently, they face the same complaints on almost every job. Would not recommend. Be very cautious!!!
