“Sadly many traditional local music shops have shut their doors permanently in the last few decades. Perhaps music has become too vast for one small shop to handle.. Whether it is "gear" for the rock-pop industry, or traditional instruments for the classical world, a warehouse is probably needed to stock the proliferation of makes and sources. And as for printed music, there is so much in print nobody could stock more thana fraction of it ion the shelves of an average store . Those that survive it seem have embraced the online revolution selling from "virtual" stores. Ackermans seem to be one of those outfits that have made the transition while still retaining a local based high street presence. And I have to say that their online service seems to be on e of the fastest in the west , or the ,northe south and east. Excellent vservice.”
