Quite bizarrely/irritatingly/annoyingly/disappointingly this pack of 10 reeds came with the reeds loose, removed from the original manufacturer's box, which was flat packed and required reassembling. The entire ensemble was then packed in a small box which would have been too flat had the reeds been left in their original box... SO GET A BIGGER BOX, ACKERMAN! I bought these reeds as a gift, not as a personal DIY project. Sorry, Ackerman Music, but you did solicit this review.

Hi Johnathan, Thank you for your review. As per the item description on our website - "In order to keep your reed prices as cheap as possible, we re-package Vandoren reeds to fit the "large letter" postal size. Each reed is still individually sealed in its original packaging but you won’t receive an original sealed outer box. If you wish your reeds to come in the original sealed box (£2 surcharge), please phone one of our shops on 0333 344 0070. Orders of 2 or more boxes will be sent sealed in their original outer boxes." Taxes for shipping to Belgium are not included in the price. So pay attention, if you are a customer from CEE (add 20 euros at least). On top of that, I created an account to place my order but they disabled my account, so I was unable to trace the status of my shipment. I contacted customer service but no answer at all. I do not recommend this company.

Hi Dominique, Sorry to hear you are unhappy with the service you received. We hadn't received any emails from you regarding this order. There should be no taxes to pay at your end as there is no VAT on sheet music. The tracking number for your order was sent with your email when the order was completed so you should have been able to track the order all the way. I will email you directly to discuss further. Incorrect item supplied. Ordered a violin chin rest but received a viola chin rest, which cost £24 including postage. Went through the returns process but no refund. Including postage cost, having to print a return address slip and provide my own padded envelope without receiving a refund is disappointing.

Hello there, As you know the reed wasn't in stock when you ordered it. We got the reed within a few days and then sent with Royal Mail 1st class. Unfortunately, it looks like they have taken almost ten working days to deliver to you. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards

I have not received the book I purchased. And when I wrote to Ackerman Music to ask why they replied it’s all because of Royal mail striking. And you didn’t provide me a tracking number about the delivery. The website seems like a big liar, you received my money but I didn’t receive the music book at all.

Thank you for your email. This item was send 1st class with Royal Mail on Sat 3rd December to your address We are noticing an awful lot of customers still haven’t received their post from the end of November/start of December thanks to the Royal Mail strikes. Hopefully it will arrive with you in the next few days (although please bear in mind there is yet another strike on Wednesday and Thursday this week) There are Royla Mail Strikes, Snow and Christmas post which is the busiest time of the year. Do not call us liars as we are most certainly not. Due to the current postal strikes all couriers and delivery services are experiencing delays in deliveries. While we always try to ship your goods on the same day you order them, we cannot guarantee a delivery date at this time. Please be patient as everyone from the shop and the delivery companies will do all we can to make sure you get your order as quickly as possible.

Phoned Hove branch twice to ask a question about AirTurn foot pedal. Both very pleasant said they would call back but on both occasions I have heard nothing. So not impressed.

The shop was very unorganised and crowded so I could not get to the violins that I wished to look at and the staff were very unhelpful when I was asking for advice about what violin was best to buy.

Ordered item as Christmas present. The website stated item in stock and then apparently dispatched on 17th. Still nothing on 29th. Spoke to a very unprofessional, indifferent person on the phone who simply said they will send me a refund if I waited for 3 weeks and then just hung up. Terrible experience. I was fooled by the great reviews. Now it does seem odd how the company does not have even one bad review?

Hello there, We have discovered that you didn't provide a house number for your address so it is likely the music will be returned to us as royal mail will be unable to deliver it. We take address information directly from what the customer provides. Kind regards

I placed an order on the 16th December and still haven’t received my goods. I understand with Christmas things may be slower but this is the 30th and I haven’t even received a dispatch email! I was ordering goods from other companies right up to the 22nd and still getting them via Royal Mail on the 24th!
