“The fit of the gilet was good, however, the quality of the fabric was rough. I know your prices are reasonable so I should have expected the fabric too be of lower quality. Thank you.”

Hi Elizabeth, We’re sorry the fabric didn’t meet your expectations and appreciate your feedback. Due to its composition (60% wool with added synthetic fibres and a Teflon coating), the material may feel coarser than other wool fabrics but is designed for increased durability in harsher conditions. “I hate to say this as I have bought several of their products and have been very happy. But this time the vest arrived marked 4XL, yet it was a medium. I measured it according to the size guide and I was correct. A medium. Rather than face the hassle and cost of shipping it back, I gave it to my son.”

“3Stars. Because.. bought a wax Jacket and leather hat. The Jacket is fabulous and cant fault it, & for the price paid. Its a bargain. The hat however has bubbled and has rippled around the rim after 2 wears in the rain. Very disappointed. If it needed treating before wearing out in the rain. This should have been listed on the product info..”

“Package arrived opened. 2 items missing. Initially I was told that missing items will be shipped, however, a month has passed and nothing. I sent 3 email with no response. Missing items worth £70 sales value. Considering I placed over £1.5k orders in a year I wont place anymore orders. Issue was resolved a few months later. I was issued a credit note. Havent used it yet though.”

“Got this jacket it was way to short for me but luckily my wife took a fancy to it and it fitted her - thankful she’s the size of a hobbit The jacket was ok but the quality of the zip was poor - for a couple of pennies more you could have used a YKK zip”

“While the quality, style, colour and finish are outstanding - I had loved a clear indication that a Walker and Hawkes 42 will not match a „UK42“ (which is about 5 inches larger!). So now I am on a forced diet, since a return and change is out of question - living in China !”

“As they advise, I measured my head. 58 cm meant I needed to order a medium. About 1/2 inch too big, unless you like your hats sitting down on your ears. I won't reurn it. Just raises the price to ship it to W&H and then back to me. Seems like a nice hat though.”

“The product, Irish long waterproof coat, excellent . It stop the deluge penetration and all but feet covered. BUT service abysmal. I received parcel very speedily , the correct invoice was inside but it was wrong gender, size and type. I contacted them immediately but they would not dispatch my raincoat until they were in possession of the wrong article. I had to print off dispatch labels , trek to tv he post office getting wet through. On receipt of my parcel they said they had handed my correct one to the carrier. After two days hearing nothing from the carrier I contacted them. They said it hadn’t been handed to them. After a chiding message the seller moved as they should have done in first place. So I would not use this seller again or recommend it. No wonder Amazon rule the world.”

“I bought a waxed jacket from W&H. Although the service is good (got what I ordered in planed lead time), and the product seems of good quality, there are some details which make the jaket not as good as it could be : - no internal pocket where to put a wallet (which could be closed by a zip). the "large" internal pocket is actually at the bottom of the jacket and seems more like a kangaroo pocket, where I would not put my belongings (risk of loosing the wallet !) - cuffs ont he sleeves are way to high and too tight. this creates a filling that size is not right as you get constrainsted on the shoulders , since the sleeves can't be deployed to their max length. - size correspondance between EU and UK is not 100% respected. I measured an old jacket which led me to order a 3xl size, but at the end, the jacket is at the low limit of a "does not fit", whereas the previous one was perfect. I believe therefore there is room for improvement for W&H.”

“Got full set up but throat lash missing from jacket. Called number on invoice several times, left messages but no response, calls keep going to voicemail, suit is decent quantity, waist coat is a little short and so is plus 2s compared to others I have had from elsewhere but all in all not bad for off the peg stuff.”

“Nice felt cap but arrived dented. The box was in tact, so must have been dented before packing. A bit of steaming and reforming sorted it out. Otherwise, good price and swift delivery.”

“I bought the Men’s Wax Diamond Quilted Lincoln Gilet. The service was good. My complaint is with the quality of the zipper, it feels cheap and the action is rough. I applied some vaseline to try and smooth the action of the zip but is hasn't really helped. An otherwise very good product let down by a small cost saving in manufacturing”
