Stanhope is a leading provider of niche and specialist insurance to the UK home insurance market. We focus on providing solutions that fit outside the standard UK home insurance norms. This could be an expensive item of jewellery, a property that is thatched or a home that is undergoing renovation works.

If you can’t find the solution through standard insurance platforms, then you will most likely have come to us as your next port of call.

Stanhope provides customers with highly personalised insurance products that their specific and specialist circumstances require. We will insure valuable items of jewellery whilst you are living away from home because your house, which has subsidence (which we are also insuring), is undergoing renovation works!

We are dedicated to providing exceptional levels of customer service and want all our customers to know that they have the right insurance policy in place at the right price, for their specific set of circumstances.

“Taking on a listed property always brings responsibility and accountability, so finding the appropriate insurance can be costly and time-consuming. Ryan at Stanhope noted every detail of the property, asked all of the questions in one go and came back with an ideal solution. His attention to detail and interpersonal skills are terrific. I feel sure that we have a cost-effective solution to the level of protection needed for peace of mind, along with the knowledge that Stanhope would be an excellent first point of contact should we need to discuss a potential claim.”

“We had a great experience getting a quote set up and being guided through the process. Stuart was awesome!!! I reached out to about 5 insurers and he was by the far the nicest and best to deal with....not to mention the cheapest ÷-) Our insurance needs were also a little more complicated than others as we were insuring a Grade Il listed, thatched property as a second home... with us being resident in the US. Other insurers were not able to accommodate us, were more expensive and wasted our time. I was often on the phone for an hour for them to tell me at the end or a day or two later that they were unable to provide cover because it was a second home or because we had oil fired central heating etc. Highly recommend Stanhope and Stuart in Particular.”

“I needed some items insuring quickly and found Emily so pleasant and helpful from the outset . I am hard of hearing so she spoke clearly and slowly. I heard every word. Despite it being close to Stanhope's closing time she stayed on the line until the job was done. She set a standard other companies should aspire to with her professional and efficient manner. Perfect. I would recommend without hesitation.”

“I haven't really needed to use it yet, and hope I don't need to. However, when I first submitted an inquiry I was sent an email where I was told someone would be calling me about potentially unlocking a different (maybe cheaper?) quote. I never received that phone call. I was also unable to set up my client portal due to "IT issues" and hope that will be resolved soon”

“Excellent. This was quite complcated insurance so it helped a lot to deal with someone who knew what they were talking about. We had approached a few brokers and insurers and often ended up telling them things that they should have known. Ryan, however, seemed to have avery good handle on the whole thing.”
