Thank you for your feedback and for your custom over the past 6 years. We are working with our suppliers and are committed to partnering with them to help fully reopen the dance industry as quickly as possible. Planning and forecasting continues to be difficult due to the different levels of restrictions still in force around the globe. Unfortunately Covid has had a domino effect on many things, including factories, as well as suppliers, closing - and as suppliers can provide anything from materials, dyes, elastics and machines that we source to produce our dancewear and costumes it has affected the industry's stock levels. As we are unwilling to sacrifice the quality of our dancewear by sourcing cheaper fabrics we have found ourselves with some shortages. We are working hard to correct this and would like to remain your chosen supplier and look forward to being back to normal.

Lots of items were out of stock and the items were delivered nearly a week after the deadline

Recently stock has been a major issue, which is massively problematic for dance schools to uniform their pupils.

I have only received 2 of the items I ordered 10 days ago. IDS used to be a reliable supplier for stock and delivery times before the pandemic. There is also a much lower offer on uniforms and the new collections arrive way after competition season which is disappointing. Sorry I used to love IDS and I feel management needs to do something about it to get it back to the old days.

I am sorry you have not received all of your order. 2 items were despatched separately so as not to delay the main order. I can see that those have been delivered and I will get one of the customer service team to chase up the courier to see where the rest of your order is.

I am sorry you are not as happy with us as you once were. We know the service level during the pandemic fell below expectations for which we apologise. Since then however we have been working with our suppliers and are committed to partnering with them to help fully reopen the dance industry as quickly as possible, even with the different levels of restrictions still existing around the globe. Our shelves are filling up as quickly as our suppliers can deliver into us and we have reintroduced the same day shipping service for orders placed before 12 noon. We want to continue to be your preferred supplier and appreciate your loyalty through the difficult times.

Until recently I have been very pleased with the service IDS offer. Sadly, at present, the items I need/use... uniform and shoes are constantly out of stock. Trying hard to stay loyal .... but struggling!

Many Dancewear suppliers are struggling to get Branded items back into stock as there continues to be different levels of restrictions around the globe. Unfortunately I have found IDS isnt as reliable as it used to be since COVID. So many items out of stock, longer delivery times and frustrating issues with missing laces on tap shoes which still isnt resolved and has caused so many phone calls. My uniforms are not in stock and I have so many complaints about back orders from my students and parents. There isnt enough info given about why this is when its been like it for 3/4 months. I really hope IDS gets back to how it was as otherwise I will have to look for a new supplier :(

I really appreciate that you must have had such a difficult time with covid but am finding the time it takes for supplies to be sent is now quite long and there have been several mistakes made. I have school uniform with you but only found out that it was discontinued from my parents. The staff however are always extremely polite and positive. I hope normal service can continue soon, as before covid it was outstanding.

We are doing everything we can to exceed expectations in terms of delivery, and at the moment we are still despatching within 2 working days from order placement. As far as your uniform is concerned I have asked one of our customer service team to phone you to clarify the status of your leotard. Placed an order. Phoned few days later to question when coming (as paid for quicker postage system) only to be told they didn't have the item in stock and would have emailed me at some point to tell me this. Sorry but that's very poor service. Also ordered dance tights in JULY and still waiting for them in November.

so much out of stock , been waiting months for some items , got a lot of new pupils who are desperate for leotards and because we use yours we cant get them from anywhere else

Always loved the fast delivery from IDS however items seem to take up to 10days to be delivered. Stock seems lacking across the board. Sad to see so many lines disappearing which have always been staple items for dance and theatre school. Seems to have transformed into another dance supplier with the same lines. Very sad. I often use other companies now as stock is much better a d delivery much quicker

Whilst we all appreciate and have all had to deal with COVID and it’s aftermath IDS have fallen very short on dispatch and deliveries. Under Anne IDS would often sort & dispatch the same day with delivery the next day. This is no longer the case sadly. Sometimes we have to wait nearly a week. Both Starlight & Katz still deliver next day and I am sad that they now receive more of our business when, in the past, we would generally only ever order from IDS.

Supply issues have been really bad. With no indication of knowing when an item is likely to be in stock until after the order is placed. I understand that there is a global pandemic affecting the supply change - but your competitors have been able to manage and there are glowing reviews about them throughout social media. For instance, I ordered uniform items for my students at the start of summer term. At least one item didn't get delivered until we had closed for term. I was then travelling for over 5 weeks as I normally do to see family so naturally as I've returned it is now too late to return the item and will no longer be required by the student that ordered it. Still, entering into a new term, when there has been growing stability with supplies (again, which don't seem to affect your competitors) I've just placed a test order for some things that I will need as a teacher to do my job and many of the sizes and items I will be needing this term are out of stock - again, no indication on the website as to when backorders can be expected even though you do follow up this information with an email. IDS has been sadly going down hill right about the time they discontinued print services.

Sadly not as good as you used to be. Long before covid & brexit you started discontinuing items so I had the change my complete uniform. Now stock is always low or out of stock & takes months to arrive. Delivery used to be next day but that doesn’t happen either now. Please go back to how you were before you bought the company

Thank you for your feedback about our current stock availability. We know we currently don’t have enough stock of what you and your customers want and it is our No.1 priority. We currently have two full warehouses in Newton Abbot, and we are ordering more than once a week from our key suppliers. Our in-stock position is over 90% overall and has been throughout the pandemic. We believe we continue to hold the largest stocks of any dancewear supplier in Europe. The vast majority of orders are being shipped immediately from stock, but we know there are products that you need which are not available and/or going onto back-order. The pandemic has challenged every business – its impact has been felt by our customers, our suppliers and ourselves. Even now that it is 18 months on, it continues to create challenges for supply chains globally. From Chinese factories in late 2019, to Italian fabric mills – and even greater impact today in India one of the world’s largest producers of leather footwear and Turkey one of Europe’s largest clothing manufacturers. Global logistics were already under strain before Brexit and the Suez Canal blockage were added into the equation. Throughout all of this we have done our best to manage our inventory, in stocks and continue to ship to our customers. Our Purchasing Manager has been with IDS for 19 years and has used his experience and supplier network to manage stock during the last year of uncertain and unpredictable demand. Forecasting and planning has been almost impossible with the uncertainty related to lockdowns and reopening dates. Most important, we have a plan to ensure we have the product our customers want, when you want it and better manage our stock positions. We are increasing our warehouse capacity to hold more stock and we are working to shorten our lead times and as such, are moving to more and new local vendors as much as possible. We are making the necessary investments in product across brands, freight, logistics and our own infrastructure to better serve you. We want to be your first choice in dancewear, costumes and accessories and we hope that you are reassured that we’re taking important steps to being your preferred partner.
