Thank you for your feedback and for your custom over the past 6 years. Planning and forecasting continues to be difficult due to the different levels of restrictions still in place around the globe. Our shelves are filling up as quickly as our suppliers can deliver into us. Unfortunately Covid has had a domino effect on many things, including factories as well as suppliers closing -suppliers can provide anything from materials, dyes, elastics and machines that we source to produce our dancewear and costumes. We want to continue to be your preferred supplier and we are not alone in the struggle to fully stock our shelves. We are doing our best to get back to normal and hope you will bear with us.

Used to be a bigger and better range of costumes. Sadly this year I’ve had to source my show costumes from elsewhere and only purchase a few bits from yourselves.

Thank you for the review and your custom over the last 15 years plus. I am sorry you were unable to find what you wanted this time. Unfortunately Covid has had a domino effect on many things, including factories as well as suppliers closing -suppliers can provide anything from materials, dyes, elastics and machines that we source to produce our dancewear and costumes. Planning and forecasting continues to be difficult due to the different levels of restrictions still in effect around the globe and we do not want to lower our standards by using cheaper inferior fabrics. We are working hard to build up our levels of stock and have many new styles on their way to us.

Ist position ballet shoes come up really small and are a strange shade of pink. It's disappointing that you can't do exchanges as I've had to return 3 pairs of shoes but to order correct sizes I have to reorder and pay postage again

I bought 2 dresses that were very good quality, however the sizing is not correct. I have a 6 & 7 year old and bout the medium child. ( 6-8) I had to cut the knickers out of one dress as it was too small and too late to send back as they needed an outfit. The sequins scratched their arms quite badly too. Nice dresses but sizing needs sorting

Many things out of stock, price increase on costumes is disappointing, and delivery is very slow . Product quality good though .

Our shelves are filling up as quickly as our suppliers can deliver into us. Unfortunately Covid has had a domino effect on many things, including factories, as well as suppliers, closing -suppliers can provide anything from materials, dyes, elastics and machines that we source to produce our dancewear and costumes. We have kept the price increase as low as possible, and most items have not increased in price at all, but everything has gone up from raw materials to transport costs. We want to maintain our high level of quality, which you also appreciate, so do not want to cut costs by using inferior fabrics.As far as speed of delivery is concerned we now pledge to despatch the same day for orders placed before 12 noon and most are sent on a 48 hour tracked service. Thank you for your continued custom as we want to be your preferred supplier and are doing our best to get back to normal.

nothing is ever in stock and when you ring up to ask they give you a date and it still doesn't turn up. I know there have been problems but an honest answer would be better than being fobbed. been waiting for over 8 months for uniform to be in stock.

We try our best to give you as much information as we can but if the supplier puts the dates back we are left in the lurch. Unfortunately, you seem to be out of stock of a large amount of items for very long periods of time, which makes uniform ordering very difficult. All other aspects in terms of delivery/communication, swapping damaged items etc is very good.

We are working closely with our suppliers, even though there are still different levels of restrictions around the globe. We are doing everything we can to exceed expectations in terms of delivery and, at the moment, we are despatching within 2 working days from order placement. We are working with our suppliers and our shelves are filling up as quickly as they can deliver into us. We want to continue to be your preferred supplier and are doing our best to get as much stock in as possible but unfortunately dance shoes seem to be taking a while to come in which is a situation we share with other dancewear supply companies. Hopefully this will soon right itself and we can give you the service that you deserve.

Sadly with long term delay in uniform and items out of stock I actually lost two students On whole good service more recently dossapoining

I am so sorry not to be giving 5 stars. Your service used to be outstanding and I am still/will still be a loyal customer. However, out of stock items have lately created repeated inconveniences and deliveries have become much slower. Hope I'll soon be able to change my rating to full marks!

Dispatch not what it used to be. Used to dispatch insane day and often came the next day. Not any more. Can be frustrating when ordering for students as it takes now much longer. Shame as stock range is excellent.

Really tricky as so many items are out of stock. I also find the first position sizing a little bit insane. My 4 year olds have to buy the age 6-8tutu’s….. and the 0’s in Milly only fit tiny 3-4year olds.

I am sorry you are having problems with the sizing. The manufacturers all work to different sizing standards and we publish their sizing charts to try to help you get the correct size but are aware that this does not guarantee a perfect fit. We want to be your preferred supplier and are working hard to maintain the high standard you expect from us.

Your orders are taking over a week to arrive so no good for customers who ask me to order something in as an emergency. I have to go elsewhere now Also - you still supply to dance schools but took my 10% reduction off. I suppose at least this means I can return items if I want.

The school has used ids for many years and spend thousands of pounds at showtime on top of regular uniform orders. Since lockdown ids hasn’t been the same. Never much in stock, takes a week to get to us. It used to come next day. Phone lines open shorter hours. With so much competition around nowadays ids need to up there game before they loose a lot of loyal customers all together.

Thank you for the review and the 3 stars despite your reservations. The pandemic has challenged every business – its impact has been felt by our customers, our suppliers and ourselves. Even now that it is 18 months on, it continues to create challenges for supply chains globally. From Chinese factories in late 2019, to Italian fabric mills – and even greater impact today in India one of the world’s largest producers of leather footwear and Turkey one of Europe’s largest clothing manufacturers. Our Purchasing Manager has been with IDS for 19 years and has used his experience and supplier network to manage stock during the last year of uncertain and unpredictable demand. Forecasting and planning has been almost impossible with the uncertainty related to lockdowns and subsequent re-openings. I understand that the current delay in shipping is hugely inconvenient for you and your customers, for which we apologise. As you can imagine we have had to implement various new measures such as one-way systems meaning orders cannot be picked as quickly as they could have done in the past, screens on the packing stations resulting in fewer stations, limiting the amount of handling of each order, and many other measures to ensure the safety of colleagues and customers. The phone line times were shortened because there were not enough customers phoning to justify staffing the lines full time. As we are getting busier this will change and hopefully soon we will be back to normal. We value the feedback and are working tirelessly to improve the situation. We’re sorry we’ve fallen short of your expectations on this occasion. We want to be your first choice in dancewear, costumes and accessories and we hope that you are reassured that we’re taking important steps to keep our customers satisfied with our service.
