About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Mostly use pool. Good pool. My main issue is cleanliness. Changing rooms, pool floor and pool scum line often unacceptably dirty.”

“Lovely centre my only gripe would be the opening times over Christmas has been poor as I work 6 till 6 I haven't been able to use the facilities at all until the new year. Could they bring in access to 24 hour that would bring in more customers and be beneficial for people who work shift work who can't make the shortened hours.”

We have reduced hours for the festive period and resume back to normal opening from 2.1.2025. “Spin bikes are a bit old , but the amazing staff taking the classes male up for it. The gym is never too busy, the changing rooms are clean. Could do with more spin classes, it's hard to book .”

“The pool and changing rooms could do with an update. Would also like it if there were more aquaaerobic classes of an evening for those of us who work and therefore cannot attend the morning classes”

“*Bromyard Halo* if opening time start from 6am you would have much more people willing to join. Some of the equipment (grip handles) are DIY job Very limited classes afternoon/evening”

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review we are sad that we only got a 2*. We sweep and hoover the pool about 3 times a week when time allows. The debris at the bottom of the pool is algae which forms due to the large amount of daylight and the warmth of the pool environment. The team to work really hard on poolside to keep it clean but it is a challenging space. Many thanks Corina

“Recently joined the leisure centre, mainly for the swimming. It's a nice pool and friendly staff. As we approach the new year and the busy time of people with new year's resolutions, I'd like to give a couple of pieces of feedback: 1) I use the 'swim for fitness' sessions, I think it would improve the swimming experience of many of the medium to fast swimmers if the lanes are set up have signage to allocate slow, medium and fast lanes - it does cause awkward moments when a slow breaststroke swimmer is in the lane with 3-4 swimmers all swimming much faster freestyle, and seems oblivious to the fact they are slowing other swimmers down and not letting them pass at the end of the lengths....it would make it a nicer experience for everyone if the lanes were allocated by speed....especially with silly season approaching with lots of people swimming as a new year resolution 2) Any chance of having more swim for fitness sessions. I understand it has to be balanced out with other swimming classes and users of the pool, but I thought I would ask.”

“Adequate parking , easy to book session via app , friendly and helpful staff , however changing rooms need refurbishing, some lockers broken , need towel holders in the showers , some changing cubicles need coat hooks , and the swim for fitness lanes in the pool are too narrow”
